When two gorgeous, popular witches clash over a man, it’s magical mayhem in this conclusion to the Life’s a Witch trilogy!
It’s been a trying year for teen witch Hadley Bishop—she led her coven into battle against the Parrishables and lost her mother in a surprise attack. Now that the Parrishables and their leader, Samuel Parris, have been defeated, Hadley is looking forward to a relaxing, love-filled summer with boyfriend Asher Astley.
Hadley’s summer plans take an unexpected turn though when she and her coven head off to a witchy summer intensive. Once there, Hadley immediately finds herself in a power struggle with Brooklyn Sparks. Like Hadley, Brooklyn is gorgeous and popular, but she’s also…Asher’s ex-girlfriend?!
As if this news isn’t enough to rattle Hadley, there are rumors of a rogue witch in the woods, and someone is playing dangerous pranks around camp. Hadley suspects that Brooklyn is behind the pranks, but is she willing to risk losing her friends and Asher to prove it? In this electrifying conclusion to the Life’s a Witch series, Hadley will discover that love is more powerful than any spell—but it comes with a price.
Brittany Geragotelis is living the dream. After 10 years of rejection from the publishing industry, she began to post her original novel, Life's a Witch, on the online writing site, Wattpad, hoping that others would enjoy reading her book. A year after the first upload, the book had received 19 million reads, which caught the attention of Publisher's Weekly, The Huffington Post and The Wall Street Journal.
After building up some buzz in the industry, she hooked up with her agents who instantly received interest from publishers and movie/tv producers. Within weeks, Life's a Witch went into auction between four major publishing houses, and in the end Brittany landed a 3-book deal with publishing powerhouse, Simon & Schuster.
When she's not writing, Brittany is obsessing over celebrities, TV shows, movies, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, gluten-free food and, of course, books! Brittany lives in NYC with her boyfriend and her two cats, Murray and Cohen.
The third book in the Life’s A Witch series, is sure to please readers that have enjoyed this series right from the start. Geragotelis creates characters that quickly find a place in your heart. Her world of witchcraft is adventurous and I especially love all the Salem Witch Trial references. Brooklyn and Hadley are two very different heroines whose backgrounds I find extremely interesting. Brittany, the author, writes her characters in an extremely unforgettable way. She also makes herself available to bloggers and readers alike. She has a great network; this is the kind of author we all love to support!
The book opens up with another look into the past life of Bridget Bishop, one of the women who was accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials. This entire series has dipped its pages in history’s ink and as a huge history nerd and English teacher, I must say that this has been one of my favorite parts. I think Geragotelis was wise in writing in this extra piece to the story. It really helps readers connect to the witchcraft going on all around them, and it helps fuel the main character’s desires and passions!
Everything comes together in this final book. I enjoyed seeing characters come together and fight together. If you have not looked into this series as of yet, then I highly recommend that you do. This author is one that really deserves the praise of readers. She worked hard to get her book out there and with good reason!
***A copy of this book was provided to me by the publishers at Simon and Schuster in exchange for my honest review***
This was my least favorite book of the three. I read the second book before the first book but that wasn't disjointed because the only consistent characters were Asher and Abbie.
What I didn't like about this book was that it was Hadley versus Brooklyn. It was almost as if Brooklyn hadn't learned from what happened with The Elite and was almost trying to emulate them. To me Brooklyn wasn't likable at all. And that disappointed me because I had thought that Brooklyn could've been a very interesting character in this book.
Instead, Brooklyn turned out to be a smarmy, so absorbed, bitchy little witch. And she was very one-dimensional until the last chapter. Someone else wrote that they felt like the author was tired of writing this series. I think it feels like she was tired of writing Brooklyn's character. There was significantly less dimension in this book for almost all of the characters. But it felt like Brooklyn was the one that deserved our discontent. Well, until the last chapter.
And Asher ditching his girlfriend because he made some guy friends? How freaking stereotypical! Overall, I still felt like the book was pretty good. It was just my least favorite of the three

I'm just not a fan of mean girling and that's what so much of this book was. I found Hadley to be a bit pathetic when she'd been pretty cool in the previous book and Brooklyn was just a bitch. She was so completely different from how she was characterized in the first book that it was as if she were a completely different character. And, quite frankly, I found her so hateful and hateable that I could barely finish the book.
And the end had such a twist that it seems like there will be another one, but I see no evidence of that. But if there is, I sincerely hope that Brooklyn is not involved.
I didn't really like how Brooklyn was the bitchy girl. I really liked Brookyln and was hoping that she and Hadley would not be enemies for more that half the book. But overall, it was a good book with a nice storyline but it is my least favorite book of the three.
I enjoyed this book for the most part, but at the same time it felt like we didn't actually get to the heart of the plot until the last like 30 pages and then it left off with a cliffhanger that wasn't even resolved and this is supposed to be the last book in the series. I'm just honestly confused and left kind of underwhelmed which is why I've rated it four stars instead of five. I want to know what would happen past the epilogue but unfortunately I'm never going to know so I'm just yeah kind of upset.
The book starts off with a rivalry between book 1 brooklyn and book 2 hadley over Asher.. Strange things start to happen at brighton camp and hadley is quick to blame Brooklyn.
Betrayal of friends and learning to love and stick together.
Ah yes, the final book. This one wasn't too bad, but I'd lost all care for the characters at this point. I didn't care for any of them. I felt that anyone outside Brooklyn and Hadley lacked in serious character development.
And I was so pissed that even though Brooklyn and Hadley were in the same book together, I still didn't get another POV from Brooklyn!
Let me tell you, Brooklyn had become a meanie bum at this point, and Hadley shut her down every time. I wasn't really all for the girl drama— you know, I liked Brooklyn before this point, and I didn't like Hadley at all. But Brooklyn was the bad guy throughout most of the book! And the drama was just awful. Hadley spent so much of her time being paranoid of Brooklyn, and admittedly, I can see why. But I wasn't for the fighting for one single reason: ASHER.
When Hadley and Brooklyn first ran into each other, and realized Asher had switched girlfriends and heard the whole story why, my first instinct as either of them would not be to bully the other girl. It would be to dump Asher's goddamn ass!
What a jerk! I mean, he left Brooklyn and yeah, he's trying to make it right now… you know, because she's there and he kind of has to, but Brooklyn shouldn't have tolerated that shit at all. I can guarantee, Asher would not have given a single shit about Brooklyn otherwise. And if I were Hadley, I would have dumped him for being an asshole, teamed up with Brooklyn for the rest of the summer and talked smack about how douche of a guy he was. He wasn't even worth it.
But, of course, I'm not Hadley. Clearly. Because Hadley's a selfish materialistic bitch who would rather cling onto her amazing sexy asshole boyfriend, and ignore the fact that he literally ditched his last girlfriend and fell in love with someone who is scarily similar, if not ten times worse.
Anyway, this book actually had some pretty interesting plot. And for the first time in this series, I couldn’t predict the plot twist. Probably because there was so much going on. Ghosts, and catfights, and evil people playing pranks— seriously, what is with the hanging stuff? That really freaked me out. I thought Hadley was going to die! Not that I would have minded, but it's not the nicest way to go…
This book was definitely more interesting than the last book. And if I have anything good to say about it, it's that Hadley's character actually fit the protagonist role of this book... even if I dislike her. She was sassy and smart and she kicked ass. She made the book what it was.

I actually wanted to start reading Eleanor and Park after reading this book, but for some reason, it doesn't feel good to start reading another book before reviewing the previous book. It's like I'm scared the storylines will overlapped and my feelings for the book will change, or worse, fade. Anybody else feel that way? Anyway, this is the last book for the What The Spell series. I was ofcourse EXCITED to read this last book, because the two twitches, Brooklyn and Hadley FINALLY meets, and I was so scared that Hadley and Asher wouldnt last omg. HAHA yes, I so hate love triangles, especially one that isn't clear who is the better choice, because then, what if in the end the person goes with the one I didn't like? Like Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass series, I mean, I want Caleana and Chaol together, not Dorian. :( But anyway, that's another rant for another book HAHA. So yes, this book pretty much kept me hyped up all night long, because I was way too scared of the ending. And then, there was the fact that there was those dangerous pranks. Like, HELLO, somebody wanted to kill Hadley. >:( HAHA. Yes, alot of dramas happened in this book, and there were enough, honestly. Not too much, and not too little. I had hoped though, that there would be a definite ending about Samuel Parrishible, but nuuuuuu. HAHA. Not sure if there's gonna be a book FOUR, but maaaaybe not. Sighpie.
That was a fun way to end the series. I enjoyed this trilogy because for me there's not enough books about witches that are both light-hearted and saving the world at the same time like these...can't lie the titles of the first two really were what caught my attention.
Must say I enjoyed Brooklyn's character more in here than in her own book. I'm sad though that this one didn't have a fun title like the other one, well I guess it had a little.
Guess my one negative is that Hadley spends a lot of time talking about what she's wearing. I understand she's a teen, but I'm glad though there's a mention of how much she does talk about them from another character (don't remember which one though). Also they mention themselves as twitches, so that brought me back to the book series by H.B. Gilmour and the Disney Channel films, both of which I loved!
Overall it was a fun read and if I hadn't watched a movie about witches prior to reading this, this would probably still be on my tbr shelf.
"After defeating the vicious Samuel Parris, Hadley just wants to spend the summer relaxing with her gorgeous boyfriend, Asher. When the coven decides that practicing magic might be a better plan, the gang goes off to witch summer school. When they get there, they run into someone Hadley never knew existed: Asher's equally gorgeous ex, Brooklyn. After pranks start going around the school, Hadley is certain Brooklyn is behind it, but when her coven doesn't back her up, she will have to find justice herself." I enjoyed the series but some of the main points of this story were just lost on me. That may be because at my high school we never had this kind of drama (I went to a REALLY small school) or it just held no interest for me, but I did like the twist at the end I totally had someone introduced earlier in the book pegged for the villain. Nice twist but just a hair too much stereotypical girl drama for my taste.
If there is another in the series I hope she can get into a less stereotypical mindset.
This book was okay. There was a good amount of action and romance in this. The only thing that was disgusting was that this book was driven by jealousy.
This book was kind of hard to get through, ad it ended like it wasn't even an ending. I totally thought it was the end of a trilogy. I don't know, it seemed like the author got bored with the story line and just wanted to wrap it up...
This series just kind of annoyed me. I really had no connection to the characters. I really didn't like any of them. I also can't believe this was the last book in the trilogy because it doesn't wrap up like one should.
Was this suppose to be the end of the trilogy? Wasn't much of an ending at all. So many unanswered questions. Didn't even say why Sarah Good was any relevance in her dreams nor who Colette picked for her project.
