Seven single, Southern women, all friends, all with troubled pasts, begin a new life in Delite, Texas, running a club and dance hall called Dixie Chix. Susanna Cooperton is in charge. Her four friends help around their club, but she’s waiting for her two cousins to arrive. They’re on the run, and trouble’s coming.
Sheriff B.J. Parker and his brother Monte, an ex-military man, have their eyes set on the hottest item in town, the owner of Dixie Chix. They can’t seem to get her off their minds, and as soon as they reveal their intentions, Susanna’s fighting their every move.
Worst of all, the man who hurt her is on the hunt for her.
Susanna must save her cousins and protect her other friends at Dixie Chix, but she needs some help from the two men that love her.
Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among siblings.
People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.
My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English speaking southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
I liked this book but I have noticed that all of her books are based on the same storyline, or similar. The abused and scared heroine on the run/hiding in a new town. Two men (sometimes more) desperately wanting the woman. The woman’s past coming back and nearly killing her, and then her men rescue her.. The end. Despite this, I will most likely continue to read more books in this series and other books like this by Dixie. My only other complaint is: I am always left wanting more (which is good) but once the heroine is rescued, it goes straight to epilogue, I am left wanting to know what happens straight after the rescue. One more thing: I don’t have any knowledge in guns but I thought once a gun had a silencer on it, you wouldn’t be able to hear it? but in ‘’her double delight’’ it said that the heroine, Susannah, heard a gunshot from a gun with a silencer on it.
Susannah is a closed off woman, she HAS to be. As the leader of her group of friends, she is the one they go to for help. After a horrific and terrifying past, Susannah is free, or so she thinks. Part owner of a poplar bar, Dixie Chix, her life revolves around work. She loves her job, most people would call her a workaholic. BJ Parker and his brother Monte have been waiting for Susannah to be ready to be theirs for a year. Finally fed up with waiting, they’re ready to take action and make it happen. After a long time of convincing the stubborn woman to be theirs and to share her secrets, they convince her to spend time alone with them. But just as Susannah starts to slightly let them in, she has to go and face the reason behind the scars on her back. All that matters to Susannah is getting her cousin’s Alexa and Sally safe. But as trouble catches her, will Monte and BJ be able to get to their woman in time and save her?
After having an abusing childhood at the hands of her family and an abusing relationship at the hands of a man that had no kindness and love in his soul, Susan escapes and with her cousins, they manage to raise a life for themselves at Dixie Chix. Never trusting any man and managing to never let her guard down she carries on without love, mostly running away from the affection from the sheriff and his brother Monte.
BJ and Monte have been swept away since the first time they saw Susan, but after having tried to convince her that they would make the perfect threesome, she runs.
Can they convince and show Susan that they are destined to be together ? And when danger nears, are they able to save the woman they love and want to keep ?
This is the first book from the "The Sinful 7 of Delight" and was the first book that I read from this author. I have always loved this small town "loves" with some new relationships to think about and dwell in my mind. This book has all the ingredients that make this small book (107 pages, read it in about 2H) a pearl from beginning to end.
It has two alpha males, it has a "southern belle" ready to swipe them off their feet, it has a bad guy, it has a dark past and a bright future, it has ... a hot loving between the sheets, but what I most liked is the way the story was told. Simple and constructively, the story flows through the pages without being too complicated or too shocking when it comes to sex. Everything is in the right measure.
For a refreshing read and few hours of relaxation from real life, read this book, you won't regret it.
other than the cliché nonsense of this damn series and apparently anything this author does has the same formula just different characters names. Cause really the characters are the same with different names, so other then that none sense. In 60 pages the damn woman is saved twice!!! not once but twice. You know just to drive home the idea this author portrays in every damn book she writes and that is, even though the female has had bad abusive experiences the lead can never protect herself and always whines and cries and gives into the dominate males really FAST. Which please. most abuse victims are not gonna go or the most intimidating guyS in town. Nor surround herself with pushy friends that seems like they mean well, but really they are just bitches who are pushing and irritatingly nosy but does the lead have a problem with such controlling actions? NO! because the author apparently thinks that romance can only come with annoying friends and asshole men. Its not just this series but every series that this author has done is the same. And its books like this that put woman down and make them feel better about their shitty decisions. Maybe u as an author just cares about money but ur also a woman! so stop making every character the same and so damn weak that she needs a man to rescue he every 50 pages.
I read some really good reviews going into this book, but I was very disappointed. It almost felt like an outline of what could be a good book. All of the feelings and situations were rushed. There was chemistry between the characters and the sex scene was smokey, but the rest of the book was lacking.
I really wanted to like this book and I think I would if it were to be redone and extended.
Very nice first story in this series. Loved the premise of a group of battered women banding together to help each other grow stronger and recover from abuse.
The beginning of a new series by Dixie Lynn Dwyer. Seven women are on the run finding themselves working together to establish a club in Delite, Texas. Susanna Cooperton is beautiful and the organizer when it comes to saving the women and the club, she has also caught the eye of Sheriff BJ Parker and his brother Monte. They have been biding their time to get to know Susanna, but her walls are tougher to crack than any obstacle they have ever incurred. They don't know the extent of Susanna's past, but as they begin to explore a relationship with her they want answers, the problem is Susanna's impulse to save two women has put her back in danger and B.J. and Monte may not be able to save her in time.
I am a big fan of Dixie Lynn Dwyer, but this one was not as good as the rest. It definitely has possibilities but I was a little confused by Susanna because on one hand she is an incredibly strong woman and the other she is reticent and confused which didn't quite meld. I probably will reread to see if it was just my mood for the day or something.
A very interesting beginning to the series. I am definitely intrigued.
It did feel a bit repetitive in the story at times. Also lots of hints about the girls past but lacking solid details.
I liked the ménage and felt the romance could have been stronger.
Steamy as all get out once they got to doing the deed. Even that could have been a but more.
I was very distracted by the way the narrative would change in the middle of a section and then change back. At times it was unclear who's point of view was being given.
Overall a interesting start to the series and certainly enough to have me hooked.
I really enjoyed this story. No weird wording that freaked me out like in Swat books. Only down fall was when Susanna was starting to get overwhelmed and ask to go slow the guys were all on same page with taking it easy then the of of blue they couldn't get enough of her and couldn't go slow anymore, so that made me scratch my head and go hmmm. Did like the whole story behind Dixie chix and abused women taking back control in their life.
Susanna has escaped from her abusive ex. She and 6 friends she helped save from abusive relationships have opened a bar. BJ, the sheriff and Monte, his brother have both wanted to have a relationship with Susanna but she keeps avoiding them. I really enjoyed this book. Susanna was a strong character finally accepting help from her men.
I read the lead up to this book and was really excited to start reading it. I loved the whole story line and was hooked so much that I couldn't put it down. I am now pray to find a job so that I can buy the rest in this fab series. :-) xx
I really enjoyed this book! I seen the cover and the title and i was instantly intrigued. If you love books by Heather Rainier, Sophie Oak, and Shayla Black then pick this book up bc you will be HOOKED!!
This book felt rushed and incomplete. . The main characters felt like it was tagged on to the introduction which this book is to the series. Hopefully the characters will grow along with the series.
It was a good book and I think it had great potential. The only thing I would have like it to be longer and more in depth. It was rushed in certain parts but overall it was good.
It was just okay... I have read better. The main character was okay but I did not like that they slept together right away. It was a quick read but definitely not my favorite by this author.

I'm so happy when I discovered this series. The stories of each lady in Delite are really different. I like the way the author portraits the characters. I will recommend this series ...
