This was a wonderfully written book with just enough West Indian flavor to connect with locals and still capitivate the readers outside of the Caribbean. The most outstanding character,in my opinion, is definitely Faith. The scene where she and Blood Pye meets is was so well described and entertaining.
Overall, a wonder full novel that will keep you turning the pages.

Locked in reader mode, i spent a night and day reading this charming little novel. Matty's journey is anything but strange, yet she tickles the Caribbean sense of humour in a cute and fun way. She is so real so, alive, we can laugh and cry with her, having made friends with this girl who must find identity through her absconding daddy, whose lion green eyes she carries. We applaud her spunk and urge her in her quest of love, lost and found.
Of all the characters in this book, she is my favourite, i was even stirred to write a poem about her, which i blogged.
