Rate this book
One dark and gloomy Halloween, a brave little girl is spooked right in her very own home. With her loyal and feisty pooch by her side, she sets out to catch who…or what…is trying to trick her. Young trick-or-treaters will delight in spotting clues as to who the culprits might be when they open oversized pull-out pages and flaps. I absolutely love the art and the clever pull out pages in this book. When I wrote it, I never imagined that the story would be so magnificently illustrated. Hats off to Ross Collins, who brought his A game to this project.

This is a GREAT book both the story line by Anne Miranda and the illustrations by Ross Collins! Please help it get more attention as it is a treasure! The story, which has rhymes and repetition, would be excellent to read aloud as it will be as much fun for the reader as the listener. The illustrations are bright, but simple, and they portray the emotions of the main character so well! The fold out pages hold secrets to be revealed. For dog lovers, the main character is even backed up by her trusty dog. The only negatives to this wonderful book are, first, that it could be scary for children, who are easily frightened by monsters under the bed, as most Halloween books could. Secondly, it does contain a witch for families that are sensitive to that. Otherwise, please buy this book it is so wonderful! It is the most wonderful Halloween book! (Note: I am not connected with the author or the publisher in any way. I just happened to pick it up at a garage sale.)

A little girl home early from tic-or-treating answers the door expecting to see kids wanting candy. Instead her house is invaded by a bunch of ghosts, ghouls and monsters. While she's startled by their eerie boos coming from throughout her home, she isn't scared. Why? Her house is already haunted!

The story of Halloween spirits trying and failing to haunt a home is really funny. Better yet are the illustrations and the fun of the different types of pages. Each page opens or unfolds in a different way. Young readers will probably accidentally rip the pages at the folds; it's an unfortunate side effect of the book being so creatively constructed.

Very interactive book! On each page he would ask who said boo and then there woul be a flap and underneath the flap would be the monster who said it! I love when she went to bed and at the end of her bed under the flaps were monsters in pajamas!
