I write books for children and young people. FRANKIE FOX, GIRL SPY is my addictive new series for readers 8+.
Book 1 is 'Ready, Set, Spy and is out now! Book 2: 'Operation Boy Band' is out in April 2015!
I also write the bestselling 'Ella and Olivia' series for young readers. I have also written historical fiction for middle readers - 'My Australian Story: Escape from Cockatoo Island'.
As well as writing a bunch of other non-fiction and activity books, I keep busy as a high school English teacher in Sydney.
I always have a huge pile of books on my bedside table - what about you?
Miss 7 is enjoying the Ella and Olivia books so much that we picked up a set of the first eight books second hand. The font size and spacing is large and the books are not too long which helps with an early chapter book. She also likes the black and white pictures (which can be coloured in if desired). The second book has the school encouraging kids to sell chocolate bars as a fundraiser with Ella even trying to bribe Olivia to help.
Miss 7 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
Poshoglian Prose #4 Ella & Olivia #2 The sisters are back and the story is based around one of those selling chocolate bar drives which drives parents insane - the best friends are competing but there is no real conflict here, it is more about sisters helping each other and the recognition that sometimes you have no chance of winning!
Chocolate selling was the theme of this book, something most students can identify with. Very likeable characters, different age groups, year 1 to 2 audience for kids who want to start chapter books.
