'Chasing Fears'.
The first instalment of 'A Broken Paradise'.

Awen finally escapes from the family home, from her initial fears and spontaneously desides she's going on a self-discovery mission to America, where her childhood holidays took her and she met her friends. But the moment she leaves her home, with her poor teenage sister Dylis, she's faced with danger and utter terror as it seems there really was a reason her family kept her so secret and it wasn't because of her many gifts that were unnatural to human's such as you or I, it was because Awen is being hunted by beings we can't even begin to grasp, understand, comprehend. And to accomplish any of that you'd also have to believe that they not only exist but they are human, their far more human than you or I, that the possibility that you and I aren't what we thought, that maybe we're the Aliens of this planet and not Awen and her kind.... In any case, she'll go searching to find out what her family have kept from her, her whole life!.

"Ooh!, and do you wanna know what Jesus was really protecting you from?"

"Chasing Fears" by Ellie Williams is a MUST READ!!!

This book is very hip, unconventional and informal writing but THAT is what pulled me in. The clarity, originality and fluidity was original.I loved Williams' style of flow and POV was wonderful. I really felt like I was in Awen's head.

Okay, I have to admit that Williams must be a freaking genius because the pace, twists, turns, and the technical structure of the story was built layer by layer.

Awen's inhumaness was the most human of the book. The author paints a picture of the fear, hopes and thought process of this complicated heroine.

I loved the supporting characters and Mam and Dylis have to my favorites. I am not going to ruin the suspense by telling you the plot, but if you want to read a smart, paranormal book... THIS WOULD BE IT!

I was literally pulled in and never knew what was going to happen next. It was a book that acheived it's goal, it got me hooked.

Congrats to this wonderful new Author Ellie Williams! I will be reading the next story in "A Broken Paradise" Series.

For this and so much more, I have to give "Chasing Fears" a hearty FIVE STAR rating. Get the book, you won't be sorry!

Chasing Fears is definitely an unconventional book and that is a good thing. Williams weaves a delicious tale and moves so quickly you feel like you have to hang on to the characters coattails to make sure you aren't swept away with the tide. This is not a sit down with a cup of tea book and once you're immersed, it will pull you along.

I was drawn into the beautifully descriptions at the beginning of this and for this reason I kept reading as I wanted to find out more about the events that led Awen to that point. I don't usually find myself enjoying fantasy reads as I struggle to leave reality behind and just live in the fantasy that the author has created. I did struggle a little bit with this one but because most of this first installment was set in the real world, with bits of fantasy weaved in. I really enjoyed the fact that this was set in my home country of Wales and I got a huge amount of enjoyment out of the Welsh weaved throughout the story.

The writing, however, was shaky at times after the initial greatness of the opening, which did pull me out of the story sometimes. As an opener it was fairly low key but Awen managed to fit a lot into the day. I can see the potential for this turning into an epic read and I'm sure that there will be lots of readers out there that will love this book.

I have read Chasing Fears in all it's glories. I read the original as well as this new version and I must say as much as I loved the first (but it was very long), I prefer the new. Awen has changed a lot since the first time round, but this version of the story I think is better. She is still as complicated as she was the first time round but she's older, wiser and a lot more fun. Off on to reading The Awakening now, book two of the A Broken Paradise Series

I love this story! I read the original version and had to come back for more. The author writes beautifully and her descriptions of locations actually take me to the place she writes about. The characters are strong and well developed. The author has an amazing imagination and puts it to good use. I can't wait to read book 2 in this series. I recommend all of Ellie Williams books.

This is a bright start for the series, and made me, no, requires me to get the next one and so forth. Outside of a few editorial issues I loved this book!

Chasing Fears is a tale of self-discovery, that's Sci-Fi embedded in Mythology, set in an urban fantasy world that, I'm assuming, is going to be of epic proportions. Well, Chasing Fears, is setting the stage for how it begins. We're immediately thrown into a battle, a battle where victory is near, or is it?
This is where we journey back in time to where our story begins. It's definitely a mystery, but to me, it's awesome world building that takes you to the end, leaving you on the edge of your seat, wanting more. The intrigue alone, has me hooked. The descriptive details are stunning. The main character is easy to relate to. And I love how I'm getting to see how her relationships are formed.
This book is a bit of a cliffhanger, but not the kind that you'll be dying for. Although, you're going to want that next book, hehe. I've definitely got my eye on this series & Author. I'm excited to see where they both go!!
