About the author

Paul Lennart Hellsing was a Swedish writer and translator. He was a prolific writer of children's literature, particularly known for his rhymes and word plays. He is considered an "outstanding poet" in the field of humour and nonsense writing. In 1987, he received the Grand Prize from Samfundet De Nio. Hellsing was married to actress Yvonne Lombard from 1953 to his death in 2015.

Fantastisk lek med ord! Jag minns att jag läst denna när jag var liten, och vi hade också ett Krakel Spektakel-spel på dator som gick igenom alla bokstäver med viss animation av illustrationerna från boken. Även då älskade jag det. Nu som vuxen fnissade jag till flera gånger, och blev inspirerad att hitta olika trådar i texten och i bilderna. En riktig barnboks-klassiker!

Bought it as a Christmas present for my soon-to-be three-year-old cousin, but I simply had to read it for myself before wrapping it up. Even though I don't think I've read this particular book, I recognise many of the characters from other books by the author. What a treat!
