When teenage girls enter the hidden vampire world to work, who will have the greatest influence on who? These human girls care for their children, fight in their wars, and become the hallmark for integrity and dedication as they help to shape the future of the vampire world.

Through an overabundance of curiosity, fifteen-year-old Allie Carter falls down the rabbit hole to discover this hidden world. Worse, her best friend, Sara Johnson, is running interference for them. Is she one, too?

Instead of running for her life, Allie joins a secret society dedicated to helping the vampires remain hidden. She becomes caretaker to adorable five-year-old Lila and must teach her to blend into human society, but if she fails, death awaits Lila.

To navigate the vampire world and educate the children, Allie moves one step closer to becoming a vampire: she runs faster, leaps higher, hears and sees better, and has increased strength and agility. Will Allie have so much fun she forgets the danger or to educate and protect young Lila? Will turning her back on loving parents be worth risking all when the vampire princess wants to kill her for pure pleasure? Only time will tell.

R.G. Richards is a lifelong Missourian who writes Fantasy/Paranormal/Romance novels. I was an enthusiastic reader of tales of foreign lands (China, Japan, Hong Kong), most of which were “borrowed” from my father’s private collection—a big James Clavell fan (Noble House,Shogun). These faraway tales provided the fertile ground which produced a rich imagination capable of spinning strange and unique stories of distant lands and people. Outside of reading and writing, I'm a beginning swimmer, a gym hater, an avid gardener of Sugar Baby melons, and a lover of jokes. If you know a good one, send it my way.

A fantastic new Vampire story that is refreshingly original and totally unique!

‘Cavers: A Vampire Tale’ was delightfully unexpected and like nothing I have encountered before within this genre. Unlike the ‘stereotypical’ Vampire (sparkly or otherwise) I was impressed by the author’s singular take on Vampire culture and characteristics, which highlight how dangerous and superior they are to humans. In this magical world human’s work alongside Vampires, aiding them in bringing up their young and shaping the future for a Vampire world. Allie Carter is one such human, whose curiosity leads her into the Vampire lair where as a babysitter she glimpses into an altogether ancient realm. The secret society relies on maintaining the art of deception, but it is a dangerous environment where one slip could mean certain death. Turning her back on her parents, Allie becomes engrossed in Lila’s life and all too soon danger surfaces…

I was entranced by this fabulous young adult story, containing such creative vision and inspired imaginative ideas. Fans of The Vampire Diaries (L J Smith) and The eternity cure (Blood of Eden series, Julia Kagawa) will enjoy this new Vampire tale and yet they should prepare themselves for something very different and exciting! The touching friendship between Allie and her best friend Sara was really sweet, and I could easily relate to the main character reflecting back on when I was a young teenager. Delicately interweaving historical details about Vampires within a contemporary setting (such as high school), this thoroughly modern story is something that many readers will relate to and love.

Amid the laughter with Lila, sprinting at speed and having fun is a deadly under layer which like a poison seeps through creating a sinister, chilling ambience. I am so pleased that despite this book being targeted towards the younger reader does contain that element of danger, for Vampires are not gentle beings; they are dead immortals with a constant thirst for blood. Unable to put this book down for even a moment I was entirely lost within the most addictive read ~ something that I predict becoming a bestseller!

This is more of a young adult story than adult, but worth reading by all. Girls are recruited from high school to work in an underground vampire city beneath their school as nannies to vampire children. The teens are transformed so they can leap and run fast to keep up with the kids. They protect them and teach them to blend in with humans to prevent the townspeople from knowing who and what they are.

I loved this new created world and could clearly picture myself there having a blast. I liked the idea of the girls having protective silver cross necklaces to keep them safe and the playtime they shared with the children, taking them out to the forest to leap through trees. I also liked that there was a real danger element that proved vampires weren’t cute and cuddly like some stories. The author did a good job of showing how dangerous they were.

I didn’t like that vampires could be out during the daylight hours and not suffer. Luckily they turned out not to be the infamous “sparkly vampires” that I detest. Overall the story sticks to tradition. I recommend it to all. The last few chapters will make you cry and laugh out loud. Can’t wait for the next in the series.

R.G. Richards has a unique way of writing I took pleasure in reading. When I got Cavers: A Vampire Tale for first read I was glad that this book was different and not the same old vampire novels I been reading. It goes more in depth into the life of vampires and how they live. I love that. If you want a different type of vampire tale this is definitely the book for you.

It was fun and quite interesting in the way the author betrays vampires and their lives. I was very pleased in the story and can’t wait for the continuation to the story in the next book. With all the ups and downs and to the characters in the first book I know the second book will be a huge hit.

I truly like Allie and how she handled the drama in the story and Sara who helped Allie along her path. I was fond of the idea of human babysitter, “Even vampires need babysitters right? Lol,” was very distinctive and make the book like no other. I couldn’t put the book down. You really get involve with the characters and the plot that you have to know what happens next. I can’t wait for the other books in this series.

I received this book in a giveaway on Goodreads.
I enjoyed the secret society feel of this book. You never knew who was involved. I would have liked to see Shelby get a little backlash for being a snob, but I have a feeling she will get what is coming to her in a future book. At times the conversations seemed to be a little dry, but you got all the information you needed. I just imagined the kids being much more talkative, but that could be in line with the secret society thing as well.
The author did a really good job with descriptions; you could picture most of the scenes in your mind as you read. It was a different take on vampires too and that kept it pretty interesting. All in all, I did like this book once I got the time to sit down and really get into it.

One thing I can say about this book is that it is different from anything I've ever read. A new and refreshing story added to the vampire genre.
It had its highs and lows, mostly lows, but enough highs to keep me reading.
I just didn't feel a connection to any of the characters. I didn't really care who won the battle between humans and vampires. I just felt like there was something missing in order for me to pick sides.

The book is very interesting and not something I usually go for but I quite enjoyed it. It focuses on the life on vampires and gives more details about the challenging they go through. It is really good and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a change of boy meets girl vampire novels
