This book consists of two separate stories: One by Kiki Swanson, the other written by Denesha Diamond. Prior to this book I was familiar with both authors.
The first story is about a young married couple. In the beginning of the relationship, the husband swept her off of her feet. He was the perfect “gentleman” until time passes and he started to feel as though he outgrew her. He left her and wanted a divorce, so she goes to stay with her sister. During a night out, she meets a "gangsta" who might be able to help her get her old life back. It all turns into a very ugly situation.
The second story, might be my favorite of the two. It starts off with a slaughter and one of the survivors, a child, actually goes on to work for the “Boss”. He grew up viewing having a family as a weakness and for 20 years he operated that way until he learns of the boss’ secret daughter.
The first story did not captivate my interest at all. It lacked originality and seemed rushed. The second story however, was a bit more engrossing and entertaining. It was classic “street literature”.
