Along with the 50 essay examples that give a detailed analysis of the strengths and even weaknesses of each essay, there are tips from college admission officers and successful applicants and a description of the 25 essay mistakes that guarantee failure. I surprisingly loved reading the essays! The analysis and advice are incredibly helpful and I will be sure to start writing EARLY.

This was a completely impromptu read, but maybe it was the perfect timing for my personal statements as I prepare for grad school. Although I can’t help but wish I read more before entering college, I’m beginning to realize that everything has its own timing and purpose: I can fully appreciate literature for its craft now and empathize with works more.

Who knows, maybe I could’ve felt even more daunted if I opened this any sooner, feeling unaccomplished and disinterested?

There were some really good essays and other really unimpressive ones.
