my profession involves "big data" analytics, so i tend to read books like this with that hat on. for me, the most interesting aspect of this book, and the sole reason i bought it, was to get some insight in how ibm approaches the challenge (architecturally). to this end, i think the book did a fairly good job. it made me think differently about certain parts of my job-related tasks, but it didn't provide me with details enough to actually iron out some of the questions raised.
