This book assumes that your administrator has already set up SharePoint and you are just a user. It does not go at all into setting up SharePoint as an administrator. From the title of the book it is not clear that it is only for users, not administrators.

I always found SharePoint very intimidating. For 2 years, I have had a server and I have not still not been able to set up SharePoint. None of the books on Microsoft servers go into the details of setting up SharePoint.

But it appears that once your SharePoint is set up by the administrator, this book does help. It has step by step instructions with screenshots on setting up SharePoint web pages, sites, documents, libraries, wikis and blogs.

This step by step is helpful! You need to take a beginners course - free at MS online - first so you pick up some of the terms. After that, this book is great!
