Fascinating. I had watched my grandmother making sugar ribbon candy,but never sugar blowing. It's a lot like glassblowing but not as hot! The instructions were very clear and detailed, and the photographs very helpful. Some of the finished work could be done by the beginner, but there a plenty of exquisite master-works included that would encourage the ambitious to persevere.
I would have given this 5 stars except for the current price. I bought this new about 6 years ago for $50, which I consider reasonable. It's in 3 languages on high quality paper with excellent color photographs throughout. However it is not a large book at 153 pages not including ads. The prices I've seen lately are ridiculous--as much as $1400, and the cheapest was $245. The book is definitely NOT worth that kind of money; there are other, realistically priced books currently available that cover this craft, and for $200 you could buy quite a selection. Another good book fallen victim of the ripoff internet book scammers; you know who they are! Buyer beware.
