Bannon’s mind is not his own.

In the middle of a hit, the perfect assassin discovers he has synthetic memories. Someone has changed his past and now he wants it back.

The trouble is Bannon’s mind is his enemy and the controllers hold all the cards. But they remade this Delta Force hero too good: with abnormally fast reflexes and timing and exceptional cunning. The hunt for the truth is about to turn into a murderous, one-man war against the shadowy organization that abused him.

MIND ASSASSIN is a gritty technothriller written by bestselling author Vaughn Heppner.

I was born in Canada and remember as a small boy crawling in my snow-fort. I closed my eyes, and when I tried to open them, they were frozen shut. I didn't panic, but wiped away the ice crystals, unglued my eyes and kept on building my tunnel. Those were great days! I moved to Central California before seventh grade and couldn't believe I lived in a land where oranges grew on trees and you could pick grapes from the vine.

I used to wonder what I wanted to do with my life, what kind of work specifically. I was miserable not knowing and bordering on desperate. Then one day a friend gave me his typewriter. I began working on a novel. A different person told me it was much easier on a computer, so I bought one and began getting up at 4:30 A.M. each morning before work, writing for three hours. My eyes were unglued once again as the pang of misery left my gut. I knew exactly what I wanted to do: write. So now that's what I do, I write, and write, and write, and I love it.

Absolutely recommend!

This book was a rollercoaster ride! Character development, plot line, and everything in between was very awesome. I'd like this book to be turned into a series

This was a nice quick read. The action and science were interesting to read. I love to read a good action book and this one did not disappoint. The plot twist even surprised me which is very rare.

Excellent read

Lots of plot twists and turns. Big brother is not only watching but actively trying to control your future. Will be a great series line.

I may introduce an entirely new shelf for books like this..."Science Fiction We Hope".

So full disclosure, I had never purchased any E-reader. My daughter (reportedly tired of hearing me complain, "That book is only available in E-book form!") bought me a Kindle for Father's Day. Having already read a couple of books by Vaugn Heppner I like, this was my first purchase.

As you may have intuited from the rating, I like it.

Now as I said, full disclosure. I'm not sure (yet) if this is common in E-books, but you will find several typos in this and a few places where it seems the writer was considering two ways to phrase a sentence and ended up with a combination of two. So I would suppose that he probably proof read it himself. (I,ve done that and you miss "stuff" as you know what's supposed to say and can read over the mistake)(for example I just typed "knwo" for "know". Spell check caught that...but if I screwed up the sentence structure it's all spelled correctly). You can tell from my rating that it doesn't hurt the book. You can tell in each case what was meant and the story flow (other than stopping for a chuckle) isn't interrupted.

I started this book yesterday afternoon and only stopped a couple of times for "chores" (like eating and feeding the cats) and finished it last night after midnight.

Good book.

We start with a man out to avenge his wife who was murdered by drug dealers, get a great fast moving action sequence and then some revelations. While there are parts of the story that you'll find are somewhat predictable and the characters are not as filled out as they might be (because of the plot they can't be). Still I was drawn in and hooked... I can recommend this one. I like it and hope Mr. Heppner follows it up.

By the way...on Amazon and Kindle the title of this book is now I, Weapon . Hopefully Goodreads will get that reconciled.

Solid Five Star Entertainment! Bring on the sequel!

Fantastic story, kind of a man on the run, Manchurian candidate, conspiracy theory thing going here, but Heppner really makes it work. I couldn't put this one down, it was an action packed thrill ride from the first page right up till the end. I've read and enjoyed Heppner's Invasion America series (all 5 books) and so I went into this book with high expectations. Well, my high expectations were exceeded. This story had great characters including excellent villains as well as a main character that I found easy to identify with and root for. Yes, I know, anyone who's read this authors other works would know to expect nothing less, but still how does this guy just consistently turn out such top quality work? I'm hoping for a sequel.

An excellent story about Bannon, an unwitting secret weapon wielded by the forces behind Homeland Security in a private eat against America's enemies, both outside the country and inside. Through very sophisticated mind control, Bannon has been given multiple personalities, done benign and others shower deadly. With implanted false memories to fuel him, he goes vengeance seeking in the most efficient and deadly ways possible. He's unstoppable.

For some reason, this story is also sold as "I, Weapon." I'm not sure why. That accounts for why I've read it twice. The first time was several years ago and I suppose the name changed in between. By the time I realized I'd read the book before, I had already made up my mind to continue rereading it as I was enjoying it again.

A fast read

Overall good . It was a little too covert in an attempt to keep the reader interested. I will say it was a bit of a surprise twist in the plot though, so that the means justified the end. Interestingly I find his science fiction series with Creed as the main character more believable than this contemporary current time fiction. It probably should be a three-story rating if you really like this author but I'll give it four stars because I did read it quickly.

Very entertaining and original book.

Is there something that Heppner wrote, that would call for less than 4 stars? Nope. Every book is a pleasure to read. Awesome author!
