I just finished reading the series and have to say I loved these characters. I read one review where a person said it was a typical UNI romance (college romance). What I liked about these stories was that they WERE believable. No crazy, unrealistic plot lines that make me roll my eyes--as I so often do. This book was romantic, sweet, and sexy. Exactly what I like to curl up under the covers with.

I've gone about this backwards I suppose. I read the newest release in this series last week, loved it so much that I had to start at the beginning and read them all. I am starting book two as soon as I finish writing this! These are connected stories in series but not really sequential. I didn't feel like I knew any spoilers by having read out of order.
Now to the story...very different from Let Me Heal Your Heart (Let Me, #4) by Lily Foster . Loved those characters, though, and love these romantic leads, Tom and Darcy, also. Lily Foster has a way of endearing her characters to you even when, like Tom, they do some stupid things that make you want to shake him. But his mistakes aren't predictable and what drives him ....let's just say you can understand and forgive, as Darcy must.
Toe curling love scenes, tender romance, a great plot....I loved this book!

I never like giving bad reviews and thankfully I very rarely need to but unfortunately this one left me feeling too annoyed with the characters. Firstly you've got Darcy... Such a sweet girl but seriously how dumb can she be. How much heartache can one girl allow a guy to put you through before you say enough is enough. Then you've got Tom..... Yeah he's supposed to be so sweet but honestly I found him to be such a loser and a total manwhore. Even after he pushes Darcy away. .. Again. ... He finds himself kissing another girl and waiting till she gets her clothes off before he decides Oh no wait I'm still in love with the love of my life Darcy so yeah even though I'm horny as hell and obviously attracted to this other girl (of course who wouldn't be. He's obviously aroused so his appendage is telling him) but no I better not go through with it. I know, I know he sounds kind of on the right track but for me it still went too far and too much happened previously for him to even sound like a good guy to me by this stage. Oh and then after months of Tom ignoring Darcy and treating her terrible he walks straight back to her and she's like yeah sure I'll have you back I've just been waiting with a broken heart for months for you to realise you love me enough to actually want me in your life. Yeah no thanks. Sorry, maybe it's just the cynic in me.

Generally don't bother writing reviews but I really loved this book. I just started the second book in the series...Let Me Love You...and am hooked. Think I'm liking it even more than this one. I'm a fan of Jessica Sorensen, Colleen Hoover, Jennifer Armentrout, and Jamie McGuire. If you like those authors I would give this author a try. The characters are sexy and smart and I the author relates well to the pain and happiness that you feel when you find that first great love.

I really love the characters in the book, Darcy and Tom. Supporting characters were well developed also, leading to a great story between two of them in the next book in the series, Let Me Love You. Just reread some of Let Me Be the One as I'm waiting for the fourth book in the series to come out. The book is definitely steamy but very very romantic.

A great college romance. Great characters with an appropriate mix of sweet and steamy. Think the subsequent books in the series are stronger but loved this book all the same

Let Me Be the One is the first book in Lily fosters Let Me series, and let me tell you I think it is one of the best books I have read.

Okay so I finished book 3 & 4 in this series and just had to go back and read the first two. Once finishing this book it took me a couple of weeks to process though. This book will send you on a serious roller-coaster of emotions. So many times I had to stop reading cause I couldn't see through my tears, Lily has a way of making the characters heartbreak yours but also their happiness yours and I found myself crying at both sad and happy moments throughout the book.

I think everyone should read this book even if you've never read any other books by Lily Foster or weren't entirely happy with her other book you should still read this one it's a total game changer!!!

Downloaded this for free last week on Amazon and am now in the middle of the second book in the seriesLet Me Love You. Great love story. Strong characters. If you're looking for deep and complicated this isn't it. This is for when you want to escape into some sexy, hot romance and lose yourself for a few hours. I started the second book because I was intrigued by the characters when introduced in this book. So far, so good...

Read other books by this author in the future: no
MC: Tom, Darcy

Main issue with the book was the pace of the story. Many times it felt like chewing gum. And it took ages to finish this book, even if the page count is not really high. Everything took a really long time. Pretty often I felt like shouting at the MCs, especially Tom. So basically it was not my cup of coffee, regarding the story telling. I liked that it was not one of the wham-bam-thank-you-mam storys. It took quite a long time for the HEA. And I liked that for once this author showed that being a player has several consequences and Tom has to live with this consequences.
The Characters were well developed.

I loved how this book was about the craziness of college, ups and downs, and life after college with be able to say its okay if you end up choosing a different path than the one you have planned. The storyline just captivated my attention and once I got through the first two pages I just couldn't stop. This book is definitely a good read.

My initial response to the book was I couldn't believe how much time had passed through the story. I appreciated that. A lot of romances today are just too fast. Two years was a great amount of time to develop a good relationship, and because of that (spoiler alert), I couldn't beat on Darcy's character for waiting for Tom to get over his justified stupidity.

Cute book with alternating points of view. I've often heard it said that "books are real life without all the boring parts." That was exactly true for this story.

I forgot what whirlwind of emotions this story was. It literally threw all the curveballs a NA novel could throw at you. My emotions were literally up and down while reading it. I didn’t know if I could even finish it, it made me really feel all emotions. At one point I wanted to hit Tom and one point I just wanted to hug him and say everything’s gonna be ok. Darcy was a sweetheart. One couldn’t expect someone to be that sweet.

One story I’m looking forward is Rene’s and Caleb’s. I really want to know what went down between those two.

2.5 rounded to 3. I decided to read this book because it took place in college instead of high school, but was still disappointed at how immature and dumb some of the characters were. The MC was pretty great. She's basically a saint and a much better person than me. LOL. I just wish that some of these strong female MCs would fall for someone who isn't a bad boy/man-whore. Hasn't that been done to death?

Made me want to be back in college. The characters and the story really resonated with me. A plot that's soul crushing at times but heartbreakingly good in the end. And it was free :)

A friend recommended this book to me last week. I started reading it on her kindle at work and when I had to hand it back over without finishing the book, I felt like I was going through withdrawal until this morning when I was able to get my hands on my own copy!
This is a story about Darcy and Tom, two seniors in college, who embark on a romance that's rocky at times. Ah, I remember those days...younger, with insecurities that make you do foolish things and hurt the ones you love.
You get you happily ever after but it's after a series of plot twists and turns that keep you turning the pages.
Just downloaded the second book in the series that was--doing a happy dance--free!

Sweet, romantic, painfully sad at times but also funny and uplifting. I could relate to the character's struggles and, through the author's words, felt a true connection to them. Already read book two in this series as well, and felt that book was even better. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series, Let Me Go. Just downloaded it and--if it's like the first two books in the series--will probably have another sleepless, up to all hours kind of night!!!

Darcy and Tom

This is a story about two college students. They had rocky beginning, it was kinda weird. It also took awhile to get the story rolling, but once it was going the story that was unfolded was good. Lots of curve balls and drama. Looking forward to reading the other tales of the series.

I have this really bad habit of buying cheap e-books that I read as I'm trying to quiet my mind down at night. More often than not, they are fluffy/trashy romances. I am almost never a fan. I really need an intervention or something.

This book was so incredibly bad that mediocre would be an upgrade. There was not a unique moment to be found. Cliche after cliche and the writing was completely amateurish. I cannot believe all of the high ratings this book has.

The amount of telling instead of showing is crazy. Months of time are recounted in a couple of pages. There is not substance to be found.

The characters are just plain stupid. The female protagonist, Darcy, has a meltdown because of a situation her friend is in which makes her completely avoid Tom, the male protagonist, for weeks. Then when she sees him talking to a group of girls in a public place, she flips out. Later when she misconstrues something, he refuses to talk to her about it and avoids her for weeks. It's a bunch of angsty, pointless, manufactured drama.

Also, there are far too many side characters to keep them all straight, especially when not a single one is fleshed-out. I know next to nothing about any of them. There would be scenes with like ten different people talking, and they all sounded like the same person.

The intimate scenes aren't well written at all. I figure with books like these the least the author could do would be to write some steamy sexy scenes...but no.

I don't see myself picking up any more from this author.

Very cute love story

This is the first book in the series and wow, it was so cute. There was lots of surprises, heartache, plenty of sweet moments and life altering situations. Needless to say there was also plenty of bad communication and stupid decisions made by both the H/h but in the end, all worth it. Tom was a sweet guy and I can see he really thought he was doing right by Darcey but damn did I want to slap him across the head....several times. Oh Darcey had her moments too. Overall I loved the storyline. It just goes to show that if there's really love there, you can withstand just about anything.
