BOOK FOUR: DECEPTION
A series of risks are being taken by all the main characters, but will the payoff be worth the sacrifice if everything falls apart?

"All things come to an end, Rex. And a fireworks display is always more impressive than a match that fizzles out before it really burns."
So... after a passion filled night with Rex, Joanna's roommate decides she's going to sneak into The Plume... And of course she get's caught. The punishments which Athena has in store for her will do nothing to dissuade her from attempting to join the exclusive club.

Meanwile...
Athena is still trying to process the return of her infamous former Dom...
Louise blackmails
When Joanna finds out about
The angst between Joanna and Rex is becoming a drag, I'm hoping that their little back and forth has come to an end...

BOOK FIVE: EXHIBITION
The Fifth Book mixes art and sex in the most delicious way, and begins to bring the series toward an important precipice...

There had been a crackle of tension before, one that grew, but suddenly the air in the studio sizzled.
Like it had been touched to an electrical wire.
Or something had broken free.
She’d gotten under Rex’s skin, finally.
I was drawn into the dynamic between Rex and Louise... And I was completely helpless to defend myself against the wole "Art and Sex" plot line which ensued...

I've come to understand that all of the characters in this series are completely in over their heads in their quest for pleasure. I want to tell them to find balance before everything falls apart... But its making for such intriguing fiction, and I love watching it all unfold.

And now we prepare ourselves for the coming exhibition of Louise & Rex... and the possible imploding of The Plume...

BOOK SIX: EXPOSURE
This installment really brought me back into The Plume series and reminded me why I fell in love with all of these characters in the first place...

Still he resisted. He knew better than to encourage emotional connections with others. He knew better than to rely on anyone other than himself—and Athena had driven that lesson home today. Even his systems and safeguards were useless unless people accessed them and followed his rules. He should dig a moat around his life, remain isolated and strong...
The previous books were starting to feel like an unending chain of screw ups between characters which seemed rather flat. Admittedly, the story was amusing enough to keep me reading through the sixth book, so I hate to sound like I've been reading begrudgingly. Having said that, the characters really began to flesh out in this book, we began to understand their motives and fears in a way that make them seem more human. Yes, the heat and sex was undiminished, but this time the "desires" weren't limited to flesh.

I still have one big gripe -

I got this book a while ago & decided to reread it.

There are a few stories in this book, but mostly it seemed to be about Louise & Rex (as well as Mike & Johanna, as well). The story began with Mike giving Louise to Rex as a gift. This meant he was treating her as a slave in The Plume’s club, despite how she’s not a member, which is defying the whole point of being a member of the club. Then Louise decides to take another member’s cell & enter the club on her own. When she’s discovered, she is punished at the club, which again doesn’t follow protocol (since she never signed a contract or sent in her medical paperwork). So this all seems to be unrealistic, when you consider how the club works. Then Rex is involved in an art gallery showing of his photographs & some sculptures.

Again, no safe words were used more than once in the various couples... One person even thought that this was a turn on... Taking away someone’s choice, someone’s say in what is happening is not a turn on, nope. Pushing limits without the permission of everyone in the scene is just not right, period.

When Johanna is “given” to Eric, Mike is astounded that she doesn’t protest. Yet she never had a safe word to begin with, & she also never participated in any discussion or thought process with him about the evening they began with, anyway. So it really shouldn’t be surprising that she didn’t say anything, & yet again, this does not make sense & just isn't safe.

Even better than the first collection!

I enjoyed this collection more than the first as Ms. Ardent takes you deeper into the minds and desires of the characters. Not all relationships develop the way you think they will and some are a lot more satisfying than others. Good insight into the inner workings of the minds of the submissives and their masters. I loved the idea of the exhibition - a totally imaginative artistic feast. Just when you think it's over, the author has you anticipating the next book. A total turn on!

I was given an ARC to read and review this book - thank you Ella Ardent!

The second collection includes Deception, Exhibition, & Exposure, three novellas that continue the journey of Lifestyle reporter Joanna into the private & secretive BDSM club known as The Plume. As she continues to explore the lifestyle that awakens her passions, her secret life is in danger of exposure as Rex, the co-owner of the club, decides to exhibit his collection of patron's photos. Not realizing that he would not display her photos without her permission, Joanna risks her budding relationship with Mike by offering to submit to Rex in exchange for her photos. We also are drawn more deeply into the story and history of Rex and his partner Athena, beginning to get a feel for what makes them tick. As always, Ms. Ardent writes beautiful, descriptive prose and great, three-dimensional characters. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.

OMG I don't know where to start with this!! This book was so much better than the first anthology because we've followed the characters and have our favourites. Mine is Mike...What he's doing to make Joanna's fantasy come true is heartbreaking for him but he loves her so much he's willing to put himself through that for her. As for Rex...well...he's the most complex character in the book and it's interesting to read about why he is the way he is.

Would have been 5*, but there were a lot of different characters introduced. There are also quite a few more spelling and grammatical errors. I know that's in editing, but it's really annoying when you buy something...

Was my first anthology in this genre and I liked it a lot. Except the storyline for the main character. That was so so in the beginning but became more interesting later on.

Interesting

The thrill continues. Again one becomes immersed from the start. My main complaint is the typos. It is distracting and unprofessional.

This well-written anthology includes the 4th, 5th and 6th novellas in the The Plume series: Deception, Exhibition and Exposure. Deception: This novella included Rex and his "gift," Louise, as well as Athena and The Count. The story moved along quickly and there were several arousing scenes described. The relationship between Athena and the Count was fascinating. Exhibition: This story brings out Rex in a different way and he sees Louise in a way he hadn't seen her before. Mike decides to fulfill Joanna's fantasy of being shared and introduces her to his friend Eric. The scenes describing Louise's sculpture and plans for the exhibition are very descriptive and imaginative and the interactions between Joanna, Mark and Eric are riveting. Exposure: Adding Eric to Mike's and Joanna's relationships changes everything. Eric is fascinated and doesn't think one night will be enough. Joanna wants to please Mike by being the perfect submissive. The night with Eric goes differently than Mike expected and he fears he is not enough for her. The Count tells Athena secrets of her past and asks her to leave the Plume to be with him. Can Athena dare to trust him with her love after being betrayed by him in the past? Rex becomes vulnerable in a way he has not shown before and he meets someone who challenges him to trust. This collection ended on a very suspenseful note and I can't wait to read the next installment! A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.
