The Time Keeper

A holiday love story for everyone...

Avery Hilfington was talented, tenacious, and spent a lot of time, thinking about time. She’d lost her father at sea, and was determined to solve the problem of longitude before she lost the only other man she loved – a man who wanted nothing to do with her anymore, and a man that she swore had broken her heart for the last time.

Sir Luc Rees, Lieutenant in the Royal Navy, had one goal – to win back the heart of his best childhood friend. He had turned away from her for four years, and now he had to make her understand why. Of course between her sleuthing for answers and chasing down thieves, the opportunities for courting were slim. With winter holidays fast approaching, he wished for one thing only – the gift of time to win her love.

Let's just say I like my romance steamy, bordering on erotica. This was far too tame for my taste and the synopsis led to believe otherwise.

To be fair, the writing wasn't bad. It just seems like something a very young & inexperienced woman would write, or something a very morally religious woman would write. In short, someone who hasn't had their judgement shattered by intense sexual attraction and passion.

I'd give this about 3.5 stars. It's an interesting story and I liked Avery and Luc but I felt like their characters were a little inconsistent in their behaviors. Also, I got this one because it was billed as a holiday novella but was disappointed that Christmas is barely mentioned. The story could have taken place at any point during the winter (snow and ice were constant). It is a quick and fun read though so I'm not sorry I read it.

A light romance, appropriate for young adults. Interesting nautical topics. Not a very complex plot. Good, not great.

Intriguing, suspenseful, and romantic

This book is very entertaining and full of surprises and humor. Trish Albright writes to keep your attention to see what will happen next. It was very difficult to put down this book. The characters were delightful, and the plot was very interesting and intriguing. Trish Albright researched the discovery of longitude which made the story even better. I am sure you will enjoy this book. Happy reading!
