About the author

Erica Chilson

42 books436 followers
Erica Chilson does not write in the 3rd person, wanting her readers to be her characters. Therefore, writing a bio about herself, is uncomfortable in the extreme.

Born, raised, and here to stay, the Wicked Writer is a stump-jumper, a ridge-runner. Hailing from North Central Pennsylvania, directly on the New York State border; she loves the changes in seasons, the humid air, all the mountainous forest, and the gloomy atmosphere.

Introverted, but not socially awkward, Erica prides herself on thinking first and filtering her speech. There are days she doesn’t speak at all. If it wasn’t for the fact that she lives with her parents, giving her a sense of reality, she would be a hermit, where the delivery man finds her months after expiration.

Reading was an escape, a way to leave a not-so pleasant reality behind. Reading lent Erica the courage she gathered from the characters between the pages to long for a different life. Writing was an instrument of change, evolving Erica into the woman she is today- a better, more mature, more at peace thinker.

Erica has a wicked mind, one she pours out into her creations. Her filter doesn’t allow all of it to erupt, much to her relief. Sarcastic, with a very dark, perverse sense of humor, Erica puts a bit of herself into every character she writes.

I will continue my earlier comments on the other books in this series by saying OMFG! This is one f**ked up situation, family, group of people, arrangement, whatever you want to call it! They're manipulative and harsh and in many ways uncaring of who they hurt in the process of getting what they want, consequences be damned!

Poor Regina (Queen) has almost no control over any aspect of her life. Every time she thinks she gained some semblance of control, it all goes away. That control just gets ripped out from under her and leaves her flat on her face. She sets out to help her friend, who she thought was helping her, only to find out she was betrayed by that friend. But, her friend may not really have a choice, she's as much a pawn as Regina.

The poor children being raised right now are going to be so screwed! They futures aren't looking so bright either. It's all so confusing and yet it's not. I could not imagine going through what Regina has gone through. Her childhood was over before it ever began. In fact, all them lost their innocence and childhood LONG before they should have. I cried through almost this entire book. My heart keeps breaking for Regina. Each time I find out something else, my heart breaks a little more for her. It'll be shattered before long.

Erica Chilson continues to weave an amazing story that will leave you dumbfounded. How she managed to weave these stories together in the way she has is amazing! As read each story and get more information I'm amazed at the level of detail interwoven into each story and storyline. I can see they're all converging for one huge impact, but I have yet to figure out how it'll play out.

With each story I also find new players in the game. There seem to be a few players who have yet to be identified. More were outed in Dalton's story, and more were outed here, but I get the distinct feeling, that not all players have been revealed. I'm wondering if anyone will get their HEA. So far, there is no HEA, not even and HFN. There just an acceptance of things being crappy!

If I'm guessing correctly, the when the final players are revealed, I'll be gobsmacked again.

I loved seeing Queen grown and how she deals with what life throws at her. She is truly a strong formidable woman. The emotional roller coaster ride continues in this book. At times my head was spinning. This book did not disappoint. Like I said in my review of Restraint if you are not into BDSM this book is not for you. But, if you enjoy an erotic read which gives the reader BDSM, love, hate and a well of other emotions this book is for you and you won’t be disappointed. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Not sure why I waited so long to read Queened. It moved me. Regina is a pivotal character for it seems every single person. I learned more about Regina and I really like her. The first part of her life was a disaster and heart breaking. Now that she is finally set, her crazy best friend who is like a sister to her, Ade now wants her to do something different.

At this point, Regina is just around 30. She's going to become a Domme just so she can get into Restraint. It's interesting watching from Regina's point of view. The same sequence of events from her perspective really gives the readers a mind fuck.

Marcus is as sexy as ever in here. I'm really falling for this "Master of the Universe". Although I'm wondering about Ms. Chilson. I guess she has a thing for either He-Man or E.L. James. *snicker*

One passage I thought was beautiful.

The first thing that leaves when you lose someone is their voice, slowly their features meld, and last to go is their scent. Once in a while a smell or sound will trigger a memory, but when I try to conjure them- nothing. The more years that roll by, the stronger the loss. Time doesn’t heal all wounds- it replaces it with more wounds as your memory fades. The pain will always linger in your soul- forever.(loc. on 3050-3053)

The writing is getting better. I can see the maturity in Ms. Chilson's voice. She's also doing a good job with character development. My favourite so far is Regina. Recommended for kinky readers enjoying a good mind fuck.

After the epic loss in Jaded, 12 years have passed and we see Regina Regal outside. She has stopped living emotionally, she has used her talents and made a name for herself, taking her friends with her from Misery castle. However it is time for her to wake up, and boy does she wake up.

In this part of Regina's story, she is introduced to the world of Restrain and before she enters again she must be taught, and who better than Master himself. It was truly interesting to go on this journey with Regina as a lot is told and revealed about everyone in M&M of Restrain. Secrets boil over and are spilled or uncovered. Regina realises tat the team she had around her are now what they appear to be and her Queen persona comes out and takes charge. She develops with her training over the course of a year and a half ,and then more surprises await at her initiation.

The story continues, and more will be revealed as Queen's story is not yet finished (dun, dun, dun).
Can't wait for the next book. I am totally loving Queen, when at the beginning of the series, I wasn't sure how I felt about her, but now, it's safe to say I love the woman.

My thanks to the author for an ARC of this for an honest review.

Queened consumed my life. I spent a 24 hour period completely immersed in the book and for the past week I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I read the original edition of this book and I didn't thing I could love it any more. I was wrong. I was totally caught up in Regina's life. I felt every single emotion she felt. I cried so much at one point I fell into an exhausted sleep.

I'm completely in love with Regina and through her training to come a Master at Restraint I fell more in love with Cortez. I'm still on the fence about Marcus and I think until we get a book from this point of view that is probably how it will stay. I will say in this new edition of the book my opinion of Jamie has changed and I now love him.

If you haven't read this series you are missing out. It is such an emotional ride and so twisted. I can't get enough. It is one of my all time favourites and I can't wait to read Checkmate for more of Regina's story.

I'll start by saying I have loved this series. I have come to think of the author as a very gifted story teller/writer. Her plots are wonderfully interwoven and never cease to surprise me. That said for some reason this story fell short for me. There was TOO much deceit and crap going on, yes that is part of what I have loved about her other stories, but this one was just over the top, IMO. I wasn't able to buy into the story of 'Alex' and then what happened with Whitt and the ending......just didn't work for me.

I am now on the fence if I will continue with this series or not. A shame really as the first 5 books left me needing/wanting to read more!

As soon as I finished reading Jaded, I dived right into Queened... Regena's story is one of the best stories that I have ever read. She has come from nothing to have everything then to lose it again.. you cant help but get the feels for her and her story. We see her grow up from a young lady into a commanding woman who will get what she deserves even if it takes years! She is such a powerful character that you just cant help but to admire her, but at the same time look back on what she has got through and feel such deep sadness for her as well.
I cant wait to see what else in up Erica's sleeve for the people of Restraint!

Queened continues the story of Regina Regal right where Jaded leaves off. With every book in this series, the denizens of Dominion get more and more insane. They are interconnected in so many ways it makes your head spin. In Queened, Regina has her first taste of Restraint and begins training with Master. Regina has quite a few eye opening moments in this book. There is not much more I can say without spoilers, but damn! This is one fabulous story and I am impatiently waiting for the next one!

Queen is one tough cookie. Holy hell. I have no idea how she does it. I loved Queen before, but this puts her in a whole new light for me.

Once again, all of my questions and theories were answered and I am proud to say that I guessed them :)

There's still one that I am working on, but I have a feeling that I am correct (hopefully).

CAN NOT WAIT TIL CHECKMATE!!!

I devoured this book!! There are so many twists and turns, I don't even bother to guess anymore. Regina has become one of my favorite characters in this series!! I am so hoping for some form of happiness for her. Once again, I am hating on Marcus! I have a series love/hate relationship with that man!! On to the next book, this series is beyond addicting!!

Ok I know Grant is supposedly dead, but why do I get the feeling he's the disfigured "Jamie" and the author of Queen's fav books?? This series keeps throwing twists at me that I don't see coming. I'm hooked!

I love the way Erica writes her characters and I especially loved this book. The depth of the characters, the reasons the characters are they way they are, and are so resilient are just a few of the reasons that I love this series.

I can't wait to read King.

Talk about a roller coaster ride. Some times you just want to reach in and bitch slap someone. Regina is coming in to her own, what a self discovery. I like how that book 5-6-7 start from the beginning and you get some fill in from the previous 4 books.

I couldn't wait to start Queened after I finished Jaded, I needed to know the rest of Queen's story. I was constantly amazed at the twists and turns this book held. If you are a fan of the Masters & Restraint series, Queened is a must read.

In this book Regina finally realizes and accepts who she is and truly becomes Queen. She is such a strong, fascinating, and beautiful character. She escaped Misery Castle and built a business empire becoming wealthier than all those people who have used and abused her. She is fiercely loyal and brought her best friends with her on this journey. Seeing everyone through her eyes changed my perception of most of the characters in this series. It made me like some of them more and dislike other characters that I had previously liked. When it is revealed who some of the people really are that I have been reading about before I can honestly say that I was shocked. I honestly don't know why I waited so long to read this series because it is phenomenal. So twisted and complicated and well written at the same time.
