Christian Pearson and his fellow Phenomenon Children are in serious peril. Each of them possesses a special gift, and the government knows it. Wanted, they are on their own with no one to help them stay hidden. Each turn could spell disaster, but they have to keep moving.
Where can they go for help? Who can they trust? Every decision they make could be their last but they have to stay on the run.
When they finally escape from what they fear most, an even greater danger looms...
Christian and "The Three" are trying to find a safe spot to just breathe and sleep with the government after them. They stop at Christian's cousin's farm first, also on the outskirts of Omaha. This part confused me, as I thought the farm was actually in Western Nebraska, but I think I created this in my head. The four Phenomenon children end up going to a few other places before deciding to go to the "safe house" in Arizona that all Phenomenon children know about. More trouble ensues there as a character thought to be taken in reappears. The suspense in this book really kept me wanting to know what happens next. I wanted to see more of Sampson and the other new characters we met. I wanted there to be more definitive action in their decisions, but not everyone knows what to do if the government is hunting you down. I know I'd be lost. But I definitely can't wait for the third book!
On The Run was a captivating fun read with a bit of suspense. An excellent companion to the first book, it did not disappoint. You definitely become invested in these characters. Fans of The Maximum Ride Series should will love this trilogy.
I received a free copy of this book through Goodreads.
