A short (very short) story, all just one point of view.. Joss

or... we could say... Joss

Joss is a gay man, and also enjoy cross-dressing. He feel... fabulous :D Oh yeah, he does and will tell you how much he enjoy be himself... dressed as he want, with man or woman cloths.

The story is about a new years party, when maybe Joss will finally have something more than just a good start of a new year... maybe... it will be the begin of a new and perfect life with the man of his dream.

I was searching a romantic story, that would make me smile. I had it, so yes, it will get my 5 stars

P.s.: sorry... maybe I could write much more but now I HAVE TO search more images with cross-dressing Matt Smith :D
as Joss, the main character of this story, Matt is hot dressed a man

and FABULOUS cross-dressed!

*faint*

The subject matter is one that I feel deserves more limelight, but this isn't really it: the writing is pretty amateurish, full of telling instead of showing, and the characters are just sketches. Instead of devoting multiple pages (and it's not a long text!) to cataloging all the random things Joss does in the day, the author might have used that space to actually show Joss and Gus' relationship more; as it is, they just seem to suddenly realize that they're into one another, pretty much out of nowhere. I wasn't invested in them as friends, which means I couldn't possibly be invested in their budding relationship.

Joss is a flamboyant happy guy. He liked to cross dress and secretly loves his BF Gus.
Gus accepts him and likes him just the way he is.
The thing is they have been friends for 12 years and although they are really close, they have no clue of the others feelings.
And there was the added twist of Gus being into BDSM and Joss isn't.
All in all it was a nice idea, but just too short and not enough of their friendships or relationship, but lots of clothes descriptions and other less than necessary details.

Made the mistake of reading this straight after a book of such deep and powerful intensity that I was still reeling from the after-effects. False Assumption left me cold. No plot, no characters, nothing. Just someone who was absorbed in himself and his own shallow needs. A recitation of what he was wearing. Not for me.

'False Assumptions' is a wonderful feel-good story about two men who are best friends but each secretly wants to be more. The basic problem is what each thinks about the other, or about himself. The "great reveal" may be scary at first, which is why they hesitated, and the fear of losing a great friendship holds them both back. At the same time, this story can serve as encouragement to go for what you really want.

Joss is a gay man who also likes to cross dress. Many people don’t get why he does it, but the simple truth is that he enjoys it. He is a pretty happy guy, and even though he is looking for love, he believes he is "too different" for anyone to really understand and accept him. Yes, his best friend Gus "gets" him, but Joss assumes that Gus, like everyone else, just isn’t interested in him beyond what they have.

Gus finally takes the initiative of letting Joss know how much more than a friend he is to him, and is pleasantly surprised when Joss has no issue with it. All of Joss's assumptions about Gus being into BDSM also turn out to be incorrect, so the door is now wide open for the two men to explore their new reality.

Their first kiss as lovers at midnight is a nice touch, as is the way they look forward to exploring their newfound love. If you like short, sweet stories that will make you smile, and if you're looking for one that captures the spirit of New Year's and new beginnings, then you should give this one a try.

Very sweet story of two best friends, Joss and Gus, who both love each other but don't yet know it. They meet and go out on New Year's Eve where magic happens. Short story, which is why the 4 vs 5 stars - would love to see more from this author!

This follows a pretty standard friends-to-lovers trope and I didn’t mind that so much, I just never really got a feel for them as a couple. Joss is a cross-dresser. He’s never really found someone who understands, in fact most people confuse it with being trans*, but he doesn’t care. He loves his girly clothes, he loves being the centre of attention as his friend Gus often reminds him, he’s a very happy guy. He keeps telling us this.

On New Year’s Eve, Gus contacts him early and invites him to a New Year’s Eve party on a boat. Joss is thrilled and can’t wait to dance up a storm. He’s been crushing on Gus for years, but Gus is into BDSM and, as usual, he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. However on the boat, Gus finally makes a move.

Joss spends a lot of the story telling us about his clothes, how he likes to wear make-up, how he admits he likes to be the centre of attention, and even about his jog he takes. You see him interact with Gus very little, save for the trip to the boat and then their time on the boat once they admit they like each other. Something however leaped out at me. It’s New Year’s Eve, Joss goes jogging (during the day) and he wears shorts and a tank top. Um. I’ve been to Chicago in December. I damn near froze my butt off. He also wears an off the shoulder top on a boat, on Lake Michigan with NO COAT in January. I couldn’t get past the fact that it was insane. People in Chicago do not go running in shorts in winter, unless it’s some kind of freaky warm spell, which maybe it was, but I kept thinking, “Nooooo. Too cold.”

I did like that Joss has a closet full of multi-colored Converse shoes, and he is flamboyant and accepts who he is, but the cross-dressing didn’t really come into it much beyond his thoughts about it. He wore jeans and sneakers to the party, so it wasn’t like we got to see anyone address his cross-dressing, or see Gus’ defence of his friend. I think there was a lot of potential here with the cross-dressing theme, but it was just kind of glossed over as one of his “things”, but not explored more.

Fans of friends-to-lovers may enjoy this, but if you are hoping the cross-dressing angle will be more prominent, you’ll be disappointed.

A cute short story, about 2 guys who have been platonic friends for 12 years, one New Years Eve they go out to a party together and Joss realises that maybe his feelings of desire for his friend are reciprocated.
I would have liked a little more background about Gus, his job, lifestyle, money etc as I was a little confused about whether he had planned and organised the party or just bought tickets for the party, and it might have been good to have a chapter from Gus's point of view to understand a little more about why he planned what he did, if he was nervous etc or certain that Joss fancied him and maybe even an epilogue a few months later - has Gus moved in or has Joss had to move his walk-in closet elsewhere...

Cute story about two guys who have been friends for years and finally things change. I really liked Joss - he is such a sweet character who is true to himself. Gus is his best friend and they have both valued that friendship so much they haven't wanted to jeopardize it by changing the rules. But on this New Year's Eve, the rules do change. I really liked the romantic ending as well ;)

The author is great but I need to get some longer reads from him. The first two that I have read are both very short. I'll clarify that they are both well written but I need a longer story line with more romance. Keep writing Zach.

I wanted to love this. I really did. And I think I could have. The subject matter was very interesting. The characters seemed interesting but this was just chalk full telling instead of showing and I just wasn't feeling it.
