I enjoyed this book and I hope that author continues to develop his style and the series. I did feel that it was a little over episodic and that it did not flow smoothly from one part to the next but I suspect that it may have had its origins in a series of short stories. I think that a rewrite with a good editor to better blend the episodes would really make a difference to this book.

I liked the combination of Napoleonic naval warfare with space opera combat but I would have liked to have had just a little more background on the mechanics of how the combat actually, especially how the ship maintained an atmosphere to aid in suspension of disbelief.
