Finding Nickie is the sequel to A Love Like this. The story picks up where 'A Love Like This' left off. Readers were all left wondering what happened to there favorite crazy family well Finding Nickie will answers those questions and more. Finding Nickie is a Novella that presents the story line for the third book in the series.
Nickie... I walked right pass the nurses’ station and dragged myself down the stairs. I was surprised that no one tried to stop me. I looked over my shoulder as if I were escaping from prison. My mind raced with thoughts of ‘what if’ as I walked, but reaching the outside was the extent of my plan.
I'm hoping there's a book 3. Kimberly Lane did a awesome job with the first 2 books. Love the way each character bring something special to the book. Anxiously waiting to read how all the women in this story find their happiness!
Great characters, good storytelling and plot twist galore!
I really hesitated to read this follow-up, but was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the characters and became invested in how their stories unfolded. Lots of twists, a good spin of humor to some very real, heartfelt situations.
Second book follows right were the first book left off however there are some inconsistencies with how the first book ended and the second one began. Like the first book this is filled with family drama all around but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Nikki is a more passive character so there were times I couldn't connect with her. However As the book progressed so did her personality and confidence. Although I wish her relationship with Riley had more time to grow their courtship went by quickly. There is still a lot to learn about Riley
Nickie's story picks up rights where Leila's story left off. I was happy that it included all my faves from the first story, and was introduced to a few new ones that I like too. Poor Nickie just can't get away from the drama in her life. After leaving her baby, she has a hard time trying to find herself. With the betrayal of her sister hanging over her head, she finally finds the strength to stand up for herself. I won't spoil it for anyone, but I'll just say I can't stand Mike! He is such a bad person. Ugggh.
Finished the first book in this series earlier today and strait away had to purchase and read the second book. Like the first this book needs some editing and has issues with continuity, but it was such fun to read. That's the thing about Ms. Lane's series its fun and brimming over with great characters who you love even when you don't like the decisions they are making. Looking forward to book three.
I would've enjoyed reading more about Nickie and her journey of self discovery. Instead, I got the chaos of the family, extra characters that didn't even have any dialogue, and somehow Nickie became a supporting character in her own story.
