Sixteen-year-old Deli Winters wakes up, dying. A voice asks her if she wants help, no matter the cost, and she agrees. The next thing she knows, a monster is bathing her in fire.
She has become Evren: immortals with dragons for souls.
Deli is pretty, bubbly, and stubbornly optimistic. She’s not what anyone would think the ideal girlfriend would be for someone like Lucian Chevalier, her gorgeous, aloof, and perpetually busy savior.
But Deli is in love with him and in between dodging the traps of Sanger High’s Queen Bee and working hard at becoming an ass-kicking Evren warrior chick to avenge her parents’ murders, Deli is determined to win Lucian’s heart…whether he likes it or not.
I don't understand why the lead girl in books like this always have to be complete idiots! Seriously is it too much to ask for a girl who can stick up for herself and not just be completely lame? So first the book starts out with Deli being changed and then she wakes up and is all what happened? Well you now have a dragon soul. Oh okay that makes sense since I saw some horrible monster and there was fire. What? If I just woke up after some weird stuff happening and someone told me something like I am part dragon now my first thought would not be oh that makes sense. It would be no really what happened? Anytime you needed information it was just given and instantly accepted by Deli which I found to be incredibly unbelievable. Not to mention that she is incredibly stupid - they use some 'big words' sometimes and she doesn't know what they mean even though they are often common words. She just annoyed me so much. Plus she acts like she is 2 all the time...and throws tantrums and is just a mess. Of course there was the instant in love with the guy who is sulky and not really paying that much attention to you. Even when he does kiss you and such he still keeps everything from you and you just go along with it? I wish girls could stick up for themselves! Guy treating you like crap? Don't just be all I m a girl and I love him sooo much so who cares! Annoying.
The other main issue I had with this book - they didn't really explain anything! They slipped in at the end how the bad guy prince is in love with the sister. Okay - is that why Deli's family was attacked? I mean nothing is really explained at all and they don't save the sister or do anything really. There was even this big gathering for all the dragon people and something important was happening, but what? Who knows. Deli was being lame and ran out and so we just don't get to know. So there is the hint of stuff happening, but you never get to know what it is as Deli acts like she is 5 all the time. Oh then she is so stupid to go back to where the bad guys would look for her and gets caught, and there is the start of a fight scene with the boys trying to save her, but then she faints and you miss the rest of the fight. Really? That is like turning off the movie in the middle of the big climactic ending and just saying eh that is good enough, no need to actually watch the rest. Who does that? Anyways this book was horrible. I kept reading it to see what was going on and why things had happened, but you never find out. Yey.

Ok, let me start by saying that yes I did put this book on my kick-ass mc shelf. However, Deli is NOT a bad-ass kicking kinda girl. But she was so refreshingly dumb that I absolutely loved her. She knows she's not smart and it works for her. "Ok brain cells, work with me here. I let you guys rest for long periods of time each day so you owe me this." Her thoughts were so freaking funny that I found myself laughing through out the book. Evren is not a deep or thought provoking story but it is a highly enjoyable one:-)
Wow I read this book in one sitting! This story was truly amazing. The story was incredibly refreshing. As a lover of urban paranormal books, it was great to read a different story rather than reading about the typical vampire, werewolf and witch story. Although I am an adult, I do love to indulge in young adult books. It's always nice to escape the daily grind with a fun story. It's also enjoyable to remember the innocence and the brutal honesty of a teenager. Okay, so I don't want to analyze this story and break it down to pieces. What I will say is this...if you enjoy the urban paranormal fantasy genre and your looking for a cool interesting read and love YA, then read this book. Sure there is the "hot guy", falling in love with said hot guy and all the in between. Let's be honest, this is a YA book. It is honestly really cool how Tee wove Deli and Lucian through a story that involved some really awesome adventures. Marian Tee thank you for writing and sharing a truly wonderful story and can't wait for the next one!
I have been sick of vampires for awhile now and it is so refreshing to read something other worldly that does not have to do with satan or vampires!Marian Tee does an excellent job describing the feelings of a teenager with a crush, even though that crush happens to me on fellow Evern! Evern are ancient beings that are linked with Dragon souls. A very interesting concept.I found the pace of this book fast, the dialogue and exchange between Deli and Dyvian funny and relate-able.I also admired the main character, Deli, because she was honest and humble, even though a little slow in figuring things out but pretty much a nice girl.Sure, she complained and wanted to change things around the brothers house, but she was adjusting to a new life so that is understandable. This was a nice easy read to enjoy on a rainy afternoon. I look forward to reading more from Marian Tee.
I liked this book a lot. Very amusing. I debated between a 4 and a 5 star rating, but said 'what the heck! Go with the 5.' I loved Deli (short for Delilah), the main character. From the very start she said she wasn't a smart girl and she was okay with that, she went with it. I was thinking 'oh whatever, I bet you are smarter than you think.' But no, she was right on the money. She is not a smart girl. I get so frustrated when the main character is stupid. I find myself yelling at her in my head on pretty much every page, telling her to stop being an idiot and grow up. And then I wonder why I'm even wasting my time reading the book. But not this time! I actually adored her and her silliness. I liked that she didn't 'grow up'. Her silly teenage thoughts were so funny. This is definitely a book I would read again.
I really did enjoy this book. Deli is not my usual cup of tea, she was kinda whiney and annoying and almost too in your face. The story is about her becoming a dragon-shifter thing, they didn't really talk about it too much it was more about her feelings and stuff like that. It could be a really interesting series, if they focused on the Evren stuff more than her love life. And of course the boys were the best part. Again, the tall, dark green eyed combo. I swear if I ever met a fella like that I could drop my panties there. It would totally rock my world.
This is probably one of the best books I've read written by Marian Tee. Actually I consider it one of my favorites. Throughout the story I can't stop laughing how Deli and Dyv always end up teaming up against Lucian - poor eldest in the group. I would really love to have a brother like Dyv! And I also love how I can relate whenever Deli is having problems when it comes to her feelings towards Lucian. It feels like the author knows how I would personally react if I'm in Deli's place.
I have to say I've read this over and over again - until now - and I have one request for the next book - if ever there would be one - I would love to hear more of Dyv's story.
I really recommend this book knowing how much fun I had reading it myself.
Great story could have been better with more details about Evren otherwise it was OK.. Its the third Book i read form this author and am rather pleased.. though the style is the same i loved it..
Deli was an unexpected character she drove me crazy i wanted to shake her because there were things which were quiet logical but she couldn't understand.. But at the end i find her sweet and a bit crazy.
As for the hunks.. I enjoyed the brothers and the teasing so..
Evren is the book you would read if you're looking for something fun, cute, unexpected, humorous and romance..
Looking forward for the Next Book I mean it would be great to read about her small sister Davie!!!!
I really enjoyed this story, the plot was fascinating and different from other fantasy stories around. The female lead was totally spoilt and immature however she's only 16 and I guess she's acting her age? It does make it hard to believe that she has found forever love though, as she has so much more emotional growth to complete. I guess we will have to see how she develops.
I was actually surprised by this novel. Compared to the other one I read by Marian Tee, this one had a more immature feel to it and the ending really threw me off. I mean, how does a novel end like that. All together though, it wasn't bad. I liked the characters and I would, no doubt in my mind, read the next novel in the series. This is a series right?
Offbeat and funny book with a very likeable and awesome female protagonist with great sense of humour and two hot and charming guys. One star minus, because the plot wasn't very dynamic, but all the rest - romance, characters, dialogues - were excellent! Highly recommended!!!
Was AWESOME I want to read the next book! I love Dyv and Lucian, I think there should be more funny stuff and more moments between Deli and Lucian, but other than that it was amazing. Also when will Angelica get her balls handed to her by Deli? ;)

I enjoyed reading it! Although I think it kinda ended too soon. Is this a series? It's supposed to be a series right? Cause when it ended, I got gazillions of questions from Davie, Dyvian and the forgotten red alert meeting at DV.

This was good! I loved Deli! Throughout the entire book she had me cheering her on. Her sense of wit is phenomenal, and Lucian is a dreamboat. Go read this book!
Deli is such a typical teenage girl, self centered and naive. This is a sweet coming of age story. The author is funny, and captures those silly teen years perfectly. Well worth reading.
There was a lot to like in this book but at the same time it was a chore to finish. I really liked Deli and I liked her friendships. The back story got mostly put in the back ground, the only thing that got more attention was Deli’s journey to mastering her new skills and finding out about Evren. Learning the skills and how she got to grow into it was one of the things that kept me reading. The plot about the enemies and her missing sister was like a vague side note to other stuff that was happening. I didn’t feel the romance and the way Lucian treated Deli was just bad. This one just wasn’t for me.
The book was fire. I was doubtful at first since a fan if dragons but Marian always changes my perspective in thing and for the better i have to say. I just loved the book its absolutely amazing. No wonder Marian you my favorite.
I have been putting off reviewing this book for a while now, I don't know why... but its time to bite the proverbial bullet.
I wouldn't call myself an expert on dragon shifters, far from actually having only read one other dragon shifter book series. But somehow, this story was lacking. Perhaps it was the juvenile feel to it.
Delilah is described as a typical blonde 16 yr old. she shortens her name to Deli which warns me she is stupid. At first I thought it was part of the bigger plot to be revealed later but then, I realized its not rocket science there she's really that stupid if she keeps taking Lucien back after all the lies. She is really the most stupid main character I have ever come across and she entertained me the whole way through.. Really enjoyed that aspect of it.
What surprised me was the immature feel to this novel as compared to the other 2 books I read by Marian Tee and that inevitably lead to my love hate relationship with it.
I would of loved for Deli to develop and grow a little and perhaps learn from what transpired between herself and Lucien.
Evren: Enter the Dragonette is one of Marians earlier works. You can't help but love Deli, short for Delilah, who has to choose between death or becoming an Evren. Determined to live she chooses Evren which pretty much means she gets a Dragon soul and can do nifty things now. Except she's kind of a dunce. Ok, she's really really dumb...but she owns it and rolls with it and does it in such a way you don't get annoyed with her (too much) and can laugh at all the things that she does or that come out of her mouth. Anyways, she's rescued by two Evren, one of which is so much like her (only smarter) that they could be twins and the other makes her want to naughty things. Between entering a new school, learning to be Evren, trying to save her sister AND make the seriously uptight Lucian fall in love with her the poor girl doesn't have a free moment. Lucian probably wasn't my favorite character but his personality was a little grating to me. Overall a very entertaining read.
Delilah "Deli" Winters gets in a car crash with her family. She wakes up lying on the ground and she is dying. She is sure she is going to die when she hers a voice. The voice asks her if she wants to live, even if she would have to give things up. She says yes because she wanted to live at all costs. Later she finds out what they did to save her. They turned her in to an Evren, immortals with dragons for souls. The two Evren that saved her are brothers named Dyvian and Lucian Chevaliar. She goes right off to live with them after the accident, no one even knows she is alive. As she gets to know Dyvian and Lucian, she starts falling for Lucian. Lucian and Deli get to know each other and get together.
This was a really fun book. I really liked it, but i do have to say that a lot of the book was left unanswered, which kind of frustrated me. You never know why Deli is special, why the Zekans want her or why they were given orders not to kill her. You never know the reason for the big Evren Meeting and why they felt threatened. Also, Deli never saves her sister and just lets the Zekans keep her. With all this said, Marian Tee really creates a romance that your emotions can cling to. I think she did a wonderful job with Character development and I really wish she just made the book a little longer and with less loose ends.

Deli is the shallowest character you can imagine. Deli and her family are attacked by the evil snake people. Her parents are killed, her sister is dragged off screaming, and Deli is wounded to the point of death. Deli is saved and converted to an Evren.
After all this her main concerns are being popular in school, living somewhere where she can shop, and having everyone know Lucian is her boyfriend. No grief on the lost of her parents, no real concern that her sister, who is now in coma in the hands of the uncle who arranged for her family's death. Nothing. This is just a shallow book about a very shallow unreal girl. Don't waste you time.
I've had this book on my kindle for ages and not gotten around to reading it. Read it recently as part of a box-set.
This is more YA than the other books I've read by Marian, that was no biggie though.
I was annoyed that it just ended. I thought it might be an error with the copy I was reading, so checked my other copy, and no, there was no error. So that was jolly disappointing.
There were aspects of the story that needed more depth, along with some bits that just needed more. At times it almost felt as if two people had written the book.
Overall it is an excellent story, it just needs a bit of work in places.
I really enjoyed this book. Okay, I LOVED IT. I really like the characters, especially Deli of course. This book was pretty funny, and very sweet. Definitely an enjoyable light reading. And it was super cute how Lucian gets embarrassed. Hahaha I was frustrated at times how Lucian wouldn't admit his feelings. Especially when he called Deli his ward. Ugh.
I'm wondering though if there will be a second book? I wanna k ow more about Dyvian, and what happens to Davie.
That was so cute! And very very funny. It reminded me of like an old black and white movie from the 40's. every now and then you need a book that doesn't take itself too seriously. And this is it. Very comparable in writing style to Of Poseidon. Which had that funny screwball inner monologue. And who doesn't like dragons, right? And it was cheap to buy. Win win.
