She loves writing mysterious places, page-turning suspense, and characters you’d like to hang out with. I have enjoyed every installment in the Savannah Coven. Suza does a great job of making every witch an individual with their own set of issues....(we all have baggage or issues that we must deal with to get the most of our lives). They are working together to solve the same overall problem (keeping a demon locked up), but have their own individual jobs to make it happen. Dealing with and overcoming your own personal demons helps you grow and get more satisfaction out of life.
Lucia is seemingly so happy go lucky and vibrant, who knew that her soul mate would be just about the complete opposite. I have been reading and following the Savannah Coven from the beginning and each book gets us closer to the final battle with the demon. But I look forward to each book no matter which witch is the focus. I appreciate learning about each of them more thoroughly and you become more invested in each witch and their tasks as we go along.
At last some grit in this series!! This is the best book by far. The characters are multi dimensional - compared to the 2D cut outs of the men in previous books. This time our guy has depth!!! and we look back at both pasts to see how the characters develop.
Also getting away from Savannah and adding a meaty setting like South America made for more interesting and descriptive passages.
This is the first in the series that one of the witches (and a handsome man, of course) are forced to separate from the safety of Savannah and the coven in her quest of the next step to stop the Amara. Lucia is stuck in a dangerous, remote place with Ethan Drake who is there to help her, but in many ways is just as dangerous – to her already fragile heart. As they both struggle with their desire for each other, they are also forced to face a danger ahead of them, and the danger of the Amara; never knowing where they are, and always expecting them to turn up at the wrong time.
This book was full of heat, and was a fantastic turn from the other books, as the reader instantly becomes fearful of what could happen when the entire coven isn’t together, and is VERY far apart. This is also the first book with a cliffhanger, that doesn't wrap up as neatly as the others, and I LOVED it. It was definitely different from the other books, removing the safety of predictability just when you thought you had it, and leaving the reader even crazier about reading the next book. Fantastic story and ending! This Review is copyrighted. Please do not share without giving Paranormal Reads/Erin full credit.
This is the fifth book in the Savannah Coven series and does not disappoint. Lucia has to find a dagger that will help kill the demon is he returns. Drake is a friend of Quinn's and he is educated in demons and is part of Lucia's challenge. They have to work together in the jungle to get past the Amara's interference and the demon-ish entities guarding the dagger. This is one challenge that the coven can not all be a part of. But, don't worry they have their own issues back home trying to locate the type of demons invading their town and determining how to kill them. You learn more about Anna and Quinn's past in this book. These women and their other halves keep these books interesting and personally I can't wait to see what the next book has to offer. Each book builds on the previous and just gets better as you go along.
Some will think this book was predictable but I have to respectfully disagree. Other than the fact that Lucia has to go through a trial (duh) and that there's a man (again duh) NOTHING about this book was predictable. The end even had me going WHAAAT??? Best of the Savannah Coven so far!!
This series just draws you in! Soft and seductive like a trembling whisper, each character has qualities anyone can identify with, and hope and aspire to.
Can witchcraft, intelligence, hope, bravery, and fated love all be contained in one series? The answer is obviously ... yes!
I probably wept more than not! The tragedy of feeling hopeless is one I know so well. I love how this book gives and takes and builds and breaks. There is more to the Savannah Coven than meets the eye, and every book leaves you on the edge of your seat, and keeps you coming back for more!
Not sure how I feel about it yet, but Suza almost makes the hardest of hearts believe in true love...
Witch number 5 starts her trial in this series. I am becoming a little tired of the witch vs. trial vs. love story but I've come this far, and I kind of want to know the outcome (though I think it's pretty obvious, I still want to read the details).
I Loved this series and think it would make a good movie. Talk about a fun exciting ride! wow this was a big roller coaster. A great variety of emotions, some even intense or deeply sad. This story is based in the southern United States and is packed of multi-genre. Paranormal, Romance, Magic, Fictional History and Mystery. Each book becomes more thrilling and the author keeps you wondering "what comes next" throughout the entire series.
I purchased this box set of the first 3 stories first but before starting the second book I bought books 4-9. yes, I was hooked from the beginning.
The only thing i found distracting in the series was the increasing use of story repetition. In some places it is like the author is trying to fill pages by repeating previous written information. Regardless, i would highly recommend the series.
The worst one so far. The others have been sappy and simple, but entertaining. In this book, the descriptions were a stretch (like the author has run out of ways to describe things already), and it felt rushed and really fake. Not to mention Lucia was being particularly stupid. If her baggage was making her jump to the conclusions that she did, then her baggage should have been developed more so it would be believable. As it was, I just wanted to smack my forehead. And Lucia.
***SPOILER BELOW***
And then the trial does not end with the end of the book? Really?
SPOILER ALERT: It started out a little predictable, but she threw in enough twists to keep it interesting. It felt like she rushed it to print and tried too hard with some of the imagery. Annoyed that she left it "unfinished"
It was my least favorite of the series so far. Don't want to give too much away but was hard for me to relate to the bold Lucia. Still worth reading but waiting for next installment in the series
