There are wonderful advantages to lining what you sew. A lining makes a garment drape better, last longer, and easier to slip on and off. Some linings add warmth, while others can keep a jacket cool enough for summer, but they all make a garment look great inside. In Easy Guide to Sewing Linings , you will learn all of the available options, whether you are lining a tailored jacket, a lacy top, or a favorite sweater.
You will learn how choose the lining style that best suits your needs
A lot of tricky areas are covered here, but what you really need to properly understand (or at least I did) are the diagrams and these let the book down on Kindle format. They are there in plenty, but on my Kindle they are so small that they re impossible to read, even with the font size up as far as it would go. The author certainly seems to know her stuff, but I still had to go online for tutorials on jump hems, back pleats and kick pleat linings. Rather a disappointment.
Oddly enough, this really is the only reference book I have found about linings. Maybe that is why it still sells for $40 used. But either way, it is a great sewing reference book and very well illustrated.
