Tiana Morris is the queen of the financial world with her investment firm, monthly articles, and television appearances. When she comes home to find her husband in bed with a woman half his age, the events turn her world upside down and she swears off men and dating forever. But when the owner of a high-profile child care service makes a visit to her home, Tiana gets more than what she bargained for.
Kieran D'Amato has seen it all and been through it all: the socialites who would rather be on TV than play with their children; the athletes who are busy traveling everywhere to care for their children; and the enormously powerful and wealthy who were just too busy for their children. So when he dropped by to see his newest client, Kieran might have to break a personal rule.
The Nanny is an erotic/sensual romance novel that explores the issues of wealth, keeping up appearances, and how public perception can interfere with personal happiness.
I really don't know how I feel about this author's work yet, as I'm still reading the book, but I know one thing...Tony's book will be the best, he's hilarious. Even if I don't read another book in this series, I'll surely look out for his. ___ Are you serious? She takes back her ex over Kieran because he's had a brush with death and now a revelation...automatic DNF for me, I don't do wishy-washy characters. I'm not bothering even seeing what happens to get to HEA with Kieran, done with her stupid ass. No thank you!
I didn't read the book description so I was pleasantly surprised that the nanny was a male. It definitely made this story quite an interesting read. The story had a great flow. I enjoyed the steady build of the relationship between Kieran and Tiana. It wasn't like bam they were together. They got to know one another first which was nice. The love scenes were very sensual and enjoyable. Overall a good read.
So this story reminded me a lot of movies and tabloids that I have seen recently. Tiana and Kieran's relationship started of platonic with a little bit of sexual tension and an evolved to caring, love, compassion, and understanding. That is something that I thoroughly enjoy in finding love again romance. Both of them are divorced and both have been hurt tremendously by their past partners. I love the interaction that they had which one another and I am glad that both of them were cautious about getting together.
So now let's get to what this story reminded me of because there's a lot of different portions of this book where I was completely and utterly confused. If you watch the movie Something New, watch it is simply amazing and it's a cute romantic love story, then you would understand what I mean. Barbara, Tiana's mother, reminds me of the main character's mother. She has this idea of what her daughter should be and it just seems as though she does not understand that appearances does not mean that people respect her. Also what Tiana has to do with her husband, Christopher, and his little indiscretions and his drug uses remind me of Khloe and Lamar, the Kardashian drama, because of how the whole entire situation in the pairing. She ends up bringing back this useless individual because of issues that occurred with him and completely forgot said she found a person who loves her and her child but she thinks that she is doing right by 'taking care of him' and giving him another chance. 😒 Tiana's friends are just like the main character in Something New by letting her know that what she wants is to be truly happy and not let her mother discourage her into thinking that she needs to be happy with this perfect guy who is on the same level as her.
There was just a lot of similarities between these two things that I just felt as the author just sat down at her computer and thought "I need to write a book I just watch this movie and I just watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians and I think I should just mix all of that together and see what I come up with". I personally enjoyed this book but it just really reminded me of all of these things. I do really enjoy Kieran's family and I really enjoyed the epilogue Of the story.
One of the main issues that I had was that the transitions were really choppy. There were flashback scenes but if you're not paying attention you don't realize that it's a flashback scene until the end. There was no segmentation letting me know that this is what's going to happen until you're sitting there reading and you think you yourself what is going on, what is truly happening and then you realize that either the character is reminiscing about a past experience or fantasizing about what they want. The editing needed a lot more work and since this is an older story the author had plenty of time to clean up the editing mistakes. I do understand this is an independent author but the transitions could be smoother since she has a lot of stories that she's written.
I liked this , I did not understand Tiana's decision It made no sense. I was hoping Kieran would ave given her a harder time because of it. This is a cute story I would like to read about the other brothers.
Vera Roberts: The Nanny was a funny, romantic love story to read. The story of Tiana and Kieran was worth the wait on a new Series coming out for 2013. This was a story of love and class and about 2 people not really looking for love. Tiana is the type of young woman who is always trying please her mother and everyone in her circle. When Tiana meets Kieran for the frist time, she knows there is something special between the 2 of them. Kieran is the type of man who loves children with all his heart, and also the woman he gives his heart too. When Kieran breaks his only rule he made for himself, he know there is no turning back on true love. The Nanny will take on a ride of ones learning to be who you really are and not what someone wants you to be. Along the way Kieran teaches Tiana how to love and be love for who she is.!! The love scenes are great and show how much Tiana is willing to learn to fight for man she knows is the love of a lifetime. There is a lot of family love to go along the way.!! Enjoy!! Look out for book #2. Kieran's brother Nicholas.!!!
This was my first interracial read that introduced me to a great series. Usually upon reading about interracial storylines, I usually bypass them. Have been loving the way Vera has been writing and highly recommend to anyone who wants to read HOT/STEAMY/LOVING interracial stories. For me, this is the beginning of a great relationship with an extraordinarily author. The opening, what a way for Tiana to come home too. Prologue was captivating. Not going to spoil, but this was a wonderful intro to the D’Amato Series. Mention of the family members being introduced vaguely but you know they will have their own to tell a story. As always, Vera has a way of telling about interracial relationships.
The book was okay, nothing to write home about. It was stereotypical in its forced drama between Tiana, her ex-husband Christopher, and her parents. There wasn't a lot of emotional connection except coming from Kieren, the new man in her life. There was a lot of abrupt endings to the chapters, and some scenes could have been flushed out more if Ms. Roberts had take the time. I did enjoy the time when they were in Staten Island with Mieren's mom because I had a true sense in who Tiana was and who she pretended to be with everyone else. I did enjoy Kieren's character the most as he seemed the most real. I give the book 2.5 stars.
This was a good take and complete role reversal of the typical nanny. Without encourage and true support from her family, I'm glad that Tiana had that with her friends. She put up with a lot from Chris to save face and to maintain a fake-image that she didn't need to maintain. I love how Kieran took to Tyler from the jump and was clearly acting more like his father from day one. Kieran was good for Tiana in that he helped her to be herself without all the extra. She was able to find her backbone and her voice again. I love how Kieran's family took to both Tiana and Tyler instantly. I'm glad everything worked out in the end.
it’s been a very long time I’ve read through the night defying even melatonin to finish a book. the characters were very likable and relatable . I immediately to a liking to Kieran and felt for him through. There were may times I wanted to ( spoiler) strangle Tiana’s mom but what can you do. There’s always gotta be someone wine yours want to see eaten by sharks during shark week. The storyline has many plot twist and yes without giving away some “grrrrr” moments. Let’s just say I’m hooked and will have to read the series to see what these Italian stallion brothers get into next. 4.5 cause now I want more and I have to get taxes done.
This was a surprisingly fun, and sexy read. The characters were amusing and most important, relatable (obviously excluding the fact that most of us aren't as wealthy as the lead, Tiana).
I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the best friends; it sort of reminded me of interactions I've had with my own group of girl friends. Even though this is the classic, inevitable "boy meets girl" story --- and we're all familiar with how said lover stories end -- it was still worth every page-turning moment.
Another great read about Tiana and Kieran. Nice gentle love story. Till it gets near the end where our couple should now be together after declaring their love for each other. Tiana then decides to give her cheating ex-husband a second chance after she has the love of a good man who loves her and her child and says she loves Kieran. I just did not understand that how would you give up the love of a good man to go back to a loser who we all know is going to do the dirty on you again!!!!! That is the only part of the story that did not ring true to me!
The first in the D'Amato Brothers Series: Here we meet Tianna Morris, who owns her own financial services agency which benefits a diverse group of clients and Kieran D'Amato, owns his own childcare agency... After catching her husband in the middle of doing the dirty deed, her world is no longer what she thought it was! After swearing off men and in need of childcare a (Nanny) Tianna hires Kieran and he breaks his own personal rule... Which gives a new understanding to the word "NANNY"...
A very nice story. Loved Kieran and looking forward to his brothers stories. Erin and Rocio were fun. Did not like Tiana's mother but glad she redeemed herself. Christopher was just an ass. She was bat shit crazy for even getting back with that schmuck. She wanted to do right by her kid. Kieran was so good with her son. The two belonged together. I'm glad they got together. Thank you
Awesome read who wouldn’t love a good love story?! Hot nanny style I don’t want to give spoilers away but it’s spicy and I love their love. It tackles issues that you wouldn’t believe I am very bad at this but hey take a chance read it it’s a series I promise you won’t put down! Hope this review helps and you enjoy 😉
I was so happy that the nanny was free and I was so happy that I finally got to read book one and I like it. I already have and read book two and I got to say I still love Nicholas better haha
I enjoyed Kieran and Tiana’s love story. They were really good together, and I loved the fact that he adopted her son. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone who enjoy reading a cute romantic story. Thank you Vera good job, can’t wait to read the next story.
This book was really, really cute. I enjoyed the romantic tension at the beginning of their relationship, so cute. I ow want to read the other brothers story. Get this book you won't be disappointed. Great job Ms Roberts👏👏👏👏
I really enjoyed this book. Especially the romance between Tiana and Kieran. I liked how Tiana and Kieran's family was introduced and their relationship with them. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
3.5 because Tiana got on my last nerve. I have no patience for women who have it all together in one aspect of their lives and so stupid in their love life. LOL!
Tiana is a self made money genius. She's a millionaire on track to be a billionaire by 40 and she's a black woman. She advises the very wealthy on how to invest their wealth and they listen to her. She works hard for her clients and gives them her best, traveling the world, but she feels guilty leaving her baby and husband. She has to work hard in this man's world for fear of no one taking her seriously. After a trip to London, she comes home expecting to surprise and romance her husband but finds him in bed with their Nanny. "Champagne Chris," a has been washed up producer who has been living off of Towns for quite some time now is asked calmly to leave their home with their Nanny behind him under the aim of Tiana's gun. She knew he hadn't been faithful for years, but in her mind - if she couldn't see it, it wasn't true. She realizes soon that she can't have her overbearing mother watching her son forever so she begins her search for a Nanny. Enter Kieran D'Amato child care center owner and operator of a Nanny service. He heads over to meet Towns to make sure her home is a safe environment for his employees and to meet the child. He's just assumed she's some SAH socialite with a rich husband who can't be bothered with their children. Boy was he ever wrong. She answers the door, not expecting the Italian "David" before her. She's been up all night with a teething baby, and had she'd known a man this good looking was going to show up she would have at least run a comb through her hair. Kieran relieves her of Tyson and gets him comfortable with a hard carrot stick for those gums and she's impressed. They talk at length and she wants him to take the job, no one else...he agrees. These two have it bad from the beginning, but Kieran has a rule, never cross the line. Tiana has a similar rule. These two get along so easily and Tiana can be herself around Kieran, she doesn't have to be some kind of impostor she's been most of her life. After a lot of flirting, and false starts, the two become official. He really loves her and her son. She even goes to meet his family and she loves them. The ex, Hurricane Chris comes blowing back in and messes with Tiana's head, will she and Kieran overcome this obstacle?
some parts of this story felt weird and inconsistent
I don’t know if it’s just me, but some parts of this story felt weird and inconsistent. It felt like as if the characters were so robotic and other times the switch it felt like there was not enough buildup or good plot character and story development. That was my main issue with this like some things were off, and I wouldn’t see any of the characters left a lasting impression on me. Neither was I invested in the plot, but there were moments where I was like whoa and where I even felt like the female protagonist was delusional, but I felt there were so many inconsistencies. How could someone own a childcare service that was doing well and not have a home of their own out with that person go visit a client and then that very same day decides it’s going to be leaving there because he’s basically homeless so these things made me question the book a lot. I just felt some things why not there was not a smooth flow in some of the things that were seen, and I felt like the plot had a lot of holes
