Just about all of us want to get away from the demands of everyday life from time to time. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have the luxury of being able to take off to some new, exciting place whenever we feel the urge--unless we like to read.

A book can take us anywhere we’d like to go. For readers who enjoy living vicariously in pastimes or in modern times Fran Shaff provides a great escape in the more than twenty novels she’s published over the years. Fran’s fictional books have won awards from readers, reviewers and fellow authors, and her non-fiction has been acknowledged in this way too.

Love is the main focus of all of Fran’s books, whether they’re contemporary or historical, serious or humorous, written for adults or teens. Love between men and women and among friends and families is featured in her books because there is nothing most of us want more than to love and be loved. Happy endings abound, but the journey to reaching that joyful final moment is always a rocky struggle, just the way we want our fiction (even though we could do without the drama in our real lives).

Look for new, full-length historical romance novels from Fran Shaff in the ten-book “Tender Mysteries Series,” available now and debuting throughout 2013 and 2014. The first novel in the series “Resurrected” is available as a free download at most Internet bookstores. The series is available in single e-book and two-pack paperback formats.

Resurrection, Restitution are first two books in the Tender Mysteries Series. Resurrection is Deborah's story at her chance of happiness after her family were killed in the Nebraska Flood of 1855 along with nine other girls. All 10 of them grew up together as sisters under Molly, the only adult who survived the Nebraska Flood of 1855.

Resurrection has Deborah investigating the thefts in her adopted family. Someone was stealing the items of her adopted sisters and her from the Flood of 1855. The items were memorable items to remember their family. She is powerless to protect her family from these thefts. She is also trying to discourage Steven Paxton from pursuing her yet she felt like her responsibilities is lifted whenever Steven is around her.

Restitution is Amy's story. Amy is trying to protect her adopted sister Flossie when Diego and Paco Consillo confronted Flossie that her father stole $5,000 for an Indiana church. In order to find the truth, Amy and Flossie decided to go to the graves that they dug to bury their families. Along the way, the attraction between Diego and Amy grew. Both fought their attraction to each other since both wanted to be right.

I recommend Resurrection, Restitution. The romance between the characters are clean enough for a teenager to read. Another thing about this book, the adopted family are inter-racials. It doesn't matter what race that these 10 girls. All 10 girls with Molly lived together and stand united as family.
