There are so many things wrong with this book. I try not to be mean or harsh in reviews if I can help it, but this book... I can't even... it just frustrates the crap out of me.
1. This book reads like an unedited first draft. And actually, it reads like the author's first book. You know, that first book that you write that you absolutely LOVE and is PERFECT and is your baby, etc. And then you put it up and read it a year later and realize that while the story isn't a bad idea, the writing is crap, and that you need to start all over. This is that book. It read like an unedited Wattpad story or something.
2. There are typos all over the place. Examples: then where there should be a than, to where there should be a too, etc.
3. The grammar. Oh my gosh the GRAMMAR. Does the author not know what a comma is???! HAVE PEOPLE PROOFREAD AND EDIT YOUR WORK BEFORE SELF PUBLISHING, PEOPLE!!
4. It's WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long. I skimmed most of it.
5. Sometimes I cared more about the secondary character's storyline (Ari and Jeff) than I did the primary character's storyline. And the story as a whole was very cliche.
6. WAY too much cussing. I know the author has defended this by saying she had to stay true to her characters and that her characters cuss or something like that, but I just don't care. No one cusses this much. Every other word was "fuck" or "dickwad" or something like that. This made her characters seem even more immature than they already did.
7. No voice at all. Ellie and Gunner's inner dialogue sounded the exact same most of the time.
8. Ellie's jealousy was childish and obnoxious and made me want to slap her in the face. If another girl was even in the same vicinity as Gunner, she'd bristle up like a cat and get pissed at Gunner and run off and automatically assume that he was cheating on her. The double standards annoyed the crap out of me. She got pissed and ditched Gunner for a couple of weeks for dirty dancing with some girl, but it's okay for her to do the exact same thing to him??! Ellie, you're an obnoxious, whiny, immature twatface that deserves to get punched in the neck!!!
9. The ending. There was NO resolution to Ari and Jeff. Does that mean there's going to be a sequel or what? Not that I'll read the sequel, but still. It was pretty annoying. And I can't imagine there being enough story left for there to even BE a decent sequel, anyway.
10. I HATE how it's becoming a normal thing in books like this to just go off and get married while you're still in school, without having even dated for a year. That's completely unrealistic and very rarely does it happen - and when it does, the couple usually ends up divorced. THREE couples in this book were engaged (or about to be engaged, in Jeff and Ari's case) and married in this book. The only logical reason to rush things like that is if you're waiting until marriage to have sex. None of these couples did, so what was the rush? I just didn't buy it.

So far, this is possibly the worst book I've ever read. The spelling, grammar, punctuation, over-use of terms and things, the immaturity, the the abundance of cussing; are all slowly killing my brain. And the characters are so insanely stupid. I feel no connection to them whatsoever. All I'm seeing from their narration is: "OMG..he's SO HOT!! Theirs an...ache...between my legs...whenever I see him!!!" or "I am SO FUCKED!! This is the TENTH TIME I've had a hard on today just by being near her! FUCK!". Literally. Over and over again. Those aren't actual lines from the book, but they're close enough to give you a gist of what I'm talking about. And the scenes and dialogue between Gunner and Ellie make me feel like Gunner is a perverted 15 year old boy and Ellie is a 6 year old girl. Gross, but true. He talks to her like she's a little baby, and she talks and acts like she's a little baby. What the actual eff. I'm going to force myself to finish this "book" just because I can't return it. Damn you, Kobo store.

This will teach me not too look at my friends reviews before I purchase I book.
Ok, let's start with the good stuff.
The story was very sweet. Very much a love-at-first sight plot, which generally isn't my thing, but Ellie and Gunner are just cute enough to make it semi-ok. She has been verbally abused by her mom to the point that she doesn't think anyone will ever really want her, and Gunner is just the guy to prove to her that she's wrong. Their whole relationship is a very straight line - he wants her, she wants him, she pushes him away because she is afraid, he doesn't give up. For me, the more interesting story line was that of Jeff and Ari (Ellie's brother and best friend) who have some much more angsty things to go through on their path to love.
Ok, on to the stuff I didn't like. The authors writing style didn't work for me at all. If I didn't have some weird OCD about not finishing books, I really think I wouldn't have stopped at about 17%. Everyone is super excitable throughly the book. There is more than liberal use of the exclamation mark, thrown I with lots of OMGing, and full capitalization of words. I was exhausted just reading it (and often left wondering just why they were so excited). Then there was the every-other-word is a curse word thing. Now, don't get me wrong, I have zero problems with curse words, but the work fuck alone was used 200 time (yes I did a search). It just made me want to smack all the characters and tell them to get more creative with their word choices. It was seriously distracting after a while.
Then there was my biggest peeve, the inner monologues. Again, I'm not apposed this in theory, but wow, there was a LOT of talking to themselves going on, and, even more importantly , they were usually telling themselves the same things over and over again. Ellie inner dialogue went mostly like this "He is so cute! I've never felt this way before. I'm feeling something "down there". What is going on with me?!?" And Gunners was basically "She is so cute. I've never felt this way before. Wow, my dick is hard again."
Oh lord, and my biggest nit-picky issue....the constant running status of Gunners dick.
But I so don't care.

It all started good, normal, no problemo. And then from the second chapter I was slowly going mad...
First, this is Ellie..
Second, this is Gunner(wtf is with this nickname?):
10 sentences later:
And then he met her:
She punched a guy and looked like a mess. Yes, she totally was the most beautiful thing in the world.. -_-
Then Ellie(she's 18):
And why does everyone have 'beautiful blue eyes'?
Okay... Do I need to go any further? I think not. And this is only 8 percent of the book. I'm really sorry, I don't want to offend the author or anyone, but I couldn't continue. This book is so not for me..
Only an 15 year-old girl would enjoy this book. Even a mature teenager, let alone an adult wouldn't like this.

All men were pure scum. Evil bastards that just wanted to get one thing from you. SEX.Bastards……
I looked at Gunner again. There was something about him. I was shocked by my immediate intense feelings for him especially after what had just happened. I looked his body up and down as I licked my lips after my mouth went dry in an instant. I tried to tear my eyes away from him but couldn't."
Second, this is Gunner(wtf is with this nickname?):
"I had never personally met her face to face but sure knew enough about her to feel like she was my little sister as well."
10 sentences later:
"For some reason my hands started to shake when I was punching in his message to Ellie. What the hell? I mean, I got a little bit excited at the idea of finally getting to meet Ellie face to face but come on?"
And then he met her:
"Ellie turned to look at Jeff and my breath caught in my throat when I saw her. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid my eyes on. Her beautiful blue eyes were red and bloodshot and she had a dazed and confused look on her face. I looked down and saw her holding her hand and it appeared to be hurt. I immediately balled my hands into fists. The anger that built up inside me knowing someone had hurt her shocked the shit out of me."

Oh man, this book was so bad. I can't even begin to describe how bad, I knew from the first page that it wasn't going to win any awards but I held out hope for the storyline. Even that was bad, I didn't connect with any of the characters, the awkward dialogue was just that awkward. No one talks like that, and the main character Ellie, I just wanted to slap her. Talk like a normal person! The grammatical errors were abundant, normally I can look past these if the story is good but I felt like bashing my head in most of the time. I couldn't even finish, let alone care what happened to the characters. I'm not a quitter either but eventually I just said :
I don't think I've ever hated a book so much, if you gave this book 5 stars I am seriously questioning your sanity.

I rarely write a review, but I had to speak on this one and air my grievances:
I WANTED to like this book-I really did. I loved the blurb about the book but that's where the love starts, chokes and dies.
I have read books with horribly written characters but I think these characters take the cake, the frosting, the bowl, the utensils, even THE CASH to purchase the ingredients to make the damn cake!!!
The characters were short sighted, immature, weak minded, insecure, over emotional, irrational, and impatient. Granted two of the main characters could be excused for their actions (and I use 'could' loosely) but what about the rest of the cast?!
The age ranged from 18 to maybe...70?(grandparents) yet based upon their behavior I would have guessed they were all 16 y/o.
There was more crying in this story than on an Oprah book club special, ok. Girls cried, boys cried, men cried, grandparents cried and yes……..I cried as well.
I dislike (more than anything) is when I read a book that has the potential to be something great and is ruined by having its characters & storyline dragged down to the level of being cliche' and dramatic to the point of ridiculousness.

What demons drove me to finish this... thing that I wouldn't even call a book? I have no idea, but I promise I will find out and hunt them down to make them pay for this damn torture. I hate to write my first review and make it negative, but this leaves me no other choice.
All the way throughout the book I was sitting there like...
You all may ask "why" ? Well, my fellow readers let me tell you why.
1) The characters inspire my inner serial killer and fuel the voices inside my head whispering to commit multiple homicide. But, as these are fictional characters all I can do is rant and complain. Firstly, Ellie. I get it she was really hurt by her mother and really abused; it's sad, whatever. I mean I am not insensitive (maybe a little), but she needs to get over it. This whole "You will never be wanted" is still affecting her even after Gunner claims his undying love for her for the millionth time *roll eyes*. I don't know whether the author is trying to make her innocent or wild; first she is blushing at "dirty thoughts", but then she is acting like sex is air. I am not even going to mention the "throbbing ache between the legs", I mean if the author is going to write that she could at least use different wording. Also, her goddamn insecurities make me want to slap her across the face until she stops thinking every girl who so much as looks at Gunner is gonna jump his bones -.- She just makes a huge hypocrite of herself by saying their relationship is "drama free". I was like "Ex-fucking-scuse me? You what?", Their relationship is pure drama. She just annoys me.
Secondly, Gunner. I don't get this kiddo. Why is he such a damn wimp? He cries way too much. I don't get how he changes from a playa' to a nice guy in a matter of three looks at Ellie. Although, he is kind sweet towards his grandparents which I think is nice. Also, I found the puppy/dog thing funny, so he is a bit better than Ellie. He is too boring for my liking, never makes any major mistakes. It just doesn't work for his bad ass image that the author was trying to create. Maybe it's my ovaries not working properly, but I don't really find him that attractive from all his bitching and throwing up.
The characters in general are acting like pregnant women from hormone overdose; crying and throwing up everywhere along with getting horny all the time. Every time the other person walks in and it's suddenly raining hard-on's.They're just all the same and each character isn't too different from the other, like they all have one personality that is raining emotional storm all over the parade.
2) For the love of baby kittens, If I hear one more time someone saying "HOLY SHIT!" or an "OH. MY. GOD" I will punch them in the throat, rip out their spine and wear it as a necklace. Seriously, this kind of reminds me of Fifty Shades of Grey with the whole repetition thing. This book has no varied vocabulary whatsoever... I mean I get it repetition for effect and all that, but after a while it just gets boring. Also, I cannot stress enough how much the use of "................" every 2 words annoyed me to hell and back. As far as I recall it's supposed to be "..." and not 10 times a page.
3) Enough! Just stop with the cussing. If you're gonna be dropping those f-bombs like that WW3 is going to start. I have nothing against swearing, but not that many time in a sentence. All the characters do that and it's plain boring and very, very frustrating. Even my drunken aunt Angelina swears less than those characters and she swears A LOT. It's just not attractive or sexy or whatever effect this person was trying to achieve. Only, Arianna could be let off with the swearing, because she is the only character that has a bit of a wild heart in her and has some potential. Also, other characters telling her to "Shut the fuck up!" wasn't exactly nice and made me cringe a little. Same goes for Ellie constantly calling Ari a "bitch" ; I know it's supposed to be said in a playful way to go with the latest fashion of referring to your friends in insulting ways, but it just doesn't sound right. And, if you're gonna do it at least be creative and call her something else for once, I do it myself but not up to that level. On the top of that I just wanted to cut myself when I read Ellie correcting a "hell" to a "heck" in front of Grams. It was just so random and unnecessary just like most of the storyline and sentences.
4) Now, the "piss poor" grammar and writing style. I have no words. I just can't. I might be a little bit of a Grammar Nazi and I understand that sometimes, you just misspell a word because you're tired or whatever...but this whole book is just damn misspelled. On a grammar test if should get a big fat F; how did this author pass English class? I might not be the best example of grammar perfection, but I sure as hell know when to use too and to, or their and there and let's not forget my here and hear. Someone please explain to me why the hell is the use of CAPITAL LETTERS so necessary? I get it if you use it a few times, but this just makes me want to break down and cry for her English teachers. The "book" is more like a draft or something you write before you have your morning coffee.
5) The crying. Sweet pink unicorns, WHY?! This girl needs crying more than she needs air. We all get sad sometimes and need a self pity party, but she is the damn queen of hysterical crying. I don't get how she doesn't dehydrate from so much crying. Even if bananas were raining from the sky she would be like "OH. MY. GOD. I can't believe this...... he doesn't want me.... SO HE decides to make bananas rein from the skies so they will kills me, but I still love him so much it hurts and makes me sick to my stomach...I AM SO FUCKED!!!!!". Same goes for Gunner. His heart would be in his vagina if he had one.
This whole thing is just a giant pile of misspelled words and grammatical errors that are screaming at me. The storyline is just so predictable and cliché and I can't stand it. Call me weird, but I don't fantasize about having a guy's babies 2 days after I met him... maybe I am just a raging lunatic.
I really believe there was some potential with Jefferson and Arianna. I would read their story, but I can't go through this again, I refuse to torture myself. I think it was one of the reasons why I finished this book, but in the end there was no mention of what happened. A shame really.
P.S. This book owes me an after-sun lotion. It was so boring I fell asleep in the sun and now I look like Rudolph's nose, not to mention I can't even put on jeans because I am so sunburnt.

2) For the love of baby kittens, If I hear one more time someone saying "HOLY SHIT!" or an "OH. MY. GOD" I will punch them in the throat, rip out their spine and wear it as a necklace. Seriously, this kind of reminds me of Fifty Shades of Grey with the whole repetition thing. This book has no varied vocabulary whatsoever... I mean I get it repetition for effect and all that, but after a while it just gets boring. Also, I cannot stress enough how much the use of "................" every 2 words annoyed me to hell and back. As far as I recall it's supposed to be "..." and not 10 times a page.
3) Enough! Just stop with the cussing. If you're gonna be dropping those f-bombs like that WW3 is going to start. I have nothing against swearing, but not that many time in a sentence. All the characters do that and it's plain boring and very, very frustrating. Even my drunken aunt Angelina swears less than those characters and she swears A LOT. It's just not attractive or sexy or whatever effect this person was trying to achieve. Only, Arianna could be let off with the swearing, because she is the only character that has a bit of a wild heart in her and has some potential. Also, other characters telling her to "Shut the fuck up!" wasn't exactly nice and made me cringe a little. Same goes for Ellie constantly calling Ari a "bitch" ; I know it's supposed to be said in a playful way to go with the latest fashion of referring to your friends in insulting ways, but it just doesn't sound right. And, if you're gonna do it at least be creative and call her something else for once, I do it myself but not up to that level. On the top of that I just wanted to cut myself when I read Ellie correcting a "hell" to a "heck" in front of Grams. It was just so random and unnecessary just like most of the storyline and sentences.
4) Now, the "piss poor" grammar and writing style. I have no words. I just can't. I might be a little bit of a Grammar Nazi and I understand that sometimes, you just misspell a word because you're tired or whatever...but this whole book is just damn misspelled. On a grammar test if should get a big fat F; how did this author pass English class? I might not be the best example of grammar perfection, but I sure as hell know when to use too and to, or their and there and let's not forget my here and hear. Someone please explain to me why the hell is the use of CAPITAL LETTERS so necessary? I get it if you use it a few times, but this just makes me want to break down and cry for her English teachers. The "book" is more like a draft or something you write before you have your morning coffee.
5) The crying. Sweet pink unicorns, WHY?! This girl needs crying more than she needs air. We all get sad sometimes and need a self pity party, but she is the damn queen of hysterical crying. I don't get how she doesn't dehydrate from so much crying. Even if bananas were raining from the sky she would be like "OH. MY. GOD. I can't believe this...... he doesn't want me.... SO HE decides to make bananas rein from the skies so they will kills me, but I still love him so much it hurts and makes me sick to my stomach...I AM SO FUCKED!!!!!". Same goes for Gunner. His heart would be in his vagina if he had one.
This whole thing is just a giant pile of misspelled words and grammatical errors that are screaming at me. The storyline is just so predictable and cliché and I can't stand it. Call me weird, but I don't fantasize about having a guy's babies 2 days after I met him... maybe I am just a raging lunatic.
I really believe there was some potential with Jefferson and Arianna. I would read their story, but I can't go through this again, I refuse to torture myself. I think it was one of the reasons why I finished this book, but in the end there was no mention of what happened. A shame really.
P.S. This book owes me an after-sun lotion. It was so boring I fell asleep in the sun and now I look like Rudolph's nose, not to mention I can't even put on jeans because I am so sunburnt.

4 and 1/2 SOLID STARS--- FUCKINGAWESOME STORY
The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars.. or really I would go so far as to say 6 stars--if it was not for the grammer errors.. Lots of those, but they got better throughout the book. Also, there was an exorbitant!!!!amounts!!!! of Explanation points!!! when none were necessary.. I'm telling you this up frot becasue honestly it bugged the shit out of me for the first few chapters.. I know may people are are complete anal about such things.. but I strongly feel that this story itself was simply beautiful and it was good enough for me to able ignore the pesty!!! and word mix ups. I've been reading long enough that I can read it the way its meant to be read and not worry about the grammer errors..-- ok On to the chocolate pudding of the story.. I''m saying chocolate pudding because I happen to love it. And I loved this book LOVEDLOVEDLOVED. Hated for it to end kind of love.
Perfect story of Texas girls and thier men. Ellie and Jeff grew up with a drunk mom and no dad around. Jeff got out first and went to UT to play football .. he's the sexy older brother. He lives in a house with his best friend Gunner, who is also a super sexy 6'4 240 huge football player. Ellie, jeffs sister is graduating HS this year and is going to college at UT also with her best friend Ari. When Gunner meets his best friends littler sister.. him and Ellie were like .. hot damn. ELECTRICITY!! SPARKS!! GAZES!! I WANT IN YOUR PANITES!! OH IT WAS OBVIOUS THEY BOTH WANTED TO HIT IT.. but Alas , Ellie caught her last boyfriend in the middle of bangin another girl.. and her prev realtionships have sucked. she feel's not worthy due to her sucky ass mom that made her feel like shit so.. she's beautiful but has a wounded heart. Gunner is going in, guns blazin and put her heart back together.
This book was fun, sexy, funny, awesome conversatons and whit! Also, Ellies BFF Ari, who has been her bff forever and grew up with ellie and Jeff is going with Ellie to UT. And.. Ari had alwasy been in love with Jeff but Jeff just alwasy ignored her.. well you will get a little bit of their story in this book and I pray that Kelly Elliott write them their own story!! Because if you are reading this Ms. Elliott, I need more Jeff and Ari please !!! pretty Please!!!
OK-- To some it up... Do you like books about hot college guys? Do like books where the chics curse like sailors, where there's chemistry through the roof and sweet waiting for it SEX... and good SEX? I originally thought this was a young adult book but its not. The characters are in college and you know what we did in college.. shoooot.

I will say, honestly.. this really is really good love story and I ate it up. I will be reading it again for sure!!! Just get over the intial pet peevs of misplaced grammer and explation points long enough to let the book suck you in.. it wont take long at all. You will be glad you read this one. OK.. that just my opinion so if you read it and hated it.. please try not to think God awful thoughts about that chick taking ambien while writing a book review. It was fresh in my head and I figured now was good as anytime to do it.
READ THIS BOOK --especially if you are my friend!!! trust me!!!

**Spoilers** & Be warned, this a complete rant.
Okay, first off I'll just say Wanted got two stars from me just for Jeff and Ari alone. Only interesting story in the book. And that's sad to say, because they're not the main characters.
Anyways, the story begins with Ellie at seven years old, listening to her drunk mother say that no guy will ever want her and she should be prepared to live a lonely life. And so, I felt alright this book has some potential. (Note: I bought the book due to a friends recommendation) Anyways, then we skip to Ellie at sixteen, where she in on a date with her boyfriend. During their dinner she leaves to use the restroom and the town slut walks in, looking at her with pity in her eyes and tells Ellie that she fucked her boyfriend the night before.
Ellie being an idiot, doesn't even hit her, just thanks her for apologizing and walks out & throws a soda on the guy, and leaves. Flash ahead two years, Ellie is graduating, and while at school receives a text from her then boyfriend to meet him in the auditorium. Ellie finds him having sex with a girl who clearly set the whole thing up. That's when Ellie runs out and texts her older brother, Jeff to come and pick her up. Long story short apparently while Ellie was in high school Jeff never aloud his college friends around her but when he gets the text from her, he's with his best friend, Gunner. So, they both go to get Ellie. Where they come upon the scene of her hitting her ex.
Of course, there is an instant connection between Ellie and Gunner, and you're just sitting there, reading, thinking how ridiculous they both are. Anyways, Ellie's best friend, Ari, gets them to realize Ellie fucked her hand up and she needs to see a doctor. And you know at this point you feel like you've already read like 10 chapters, when you're only on like the second or third.
To not keep dragging this out, Ellie and Gunner fall in love, but Ellie has issues since her mom instilled in her that no guy will ever love her. So, basically any girl that gets near Gunner she basically believes he's cheating on her. *Eyes rolling* It's so stupid. That's basically like their whole story, and how much they love each other and blah blah blah.
The only interesting story was he one between Jeff and Ari. They loved each other, but Jeff refused to let it get anywhere past friendship since he didn't want it to go bad and lose Ari forever. So, he pushed her away about a million times till he FINALLY realizes what an idiot he's been. (Yes, it is once a guy proposes to Ari that he finally gets this picture) Anyways, we're all left on a cliff-hanger when one of Jeff's, um, how can I put this? One night stands? Alright, we'll go with that, when one of his one night stands calls him informing him she's pregnant and it's his. Of course. Of course it is, because apparently Kelly Elliot felt that those two hadn't been through enough bullshit.
So, besides the dull storyline between Ellie and Gunner, the writing in general sucked. Kelly Elliot should've at least edited it first. SO MANY SPELLING ERRORS. My inner school teacher came out on like every sentence.

I literally had to put this book down after 25 pages. The writing was absolutely terrible--there were spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, and every other word was an expletive. It seems like a ten year old wrote this. It obviously never saw an editor. I rarely stop reading a book, especially after so few pages, but I honestly couldn't bear to continue. Don't waste your money on this!

OH. MY. GOD. **SWOON!!** I’m completely in love with Gunner. He totally made the story worth while. He’s one hot, sweet, sexy, tattooed Southern gentleman. Just fucking gorgeous! Oh yea, he definitely made it to my all time favorite book boyfriends.
The story is fairly simple and highly predictable. In a nutshell, it’s a story about a young woman, who was raised by her beloved older brother and an alcoholic mother. Ellie has been on the receiving end of a lot of verbal abuse from her mother. She always kept telling Ellie that no one will ever want her. If it wasn’t for her hard working older brother, Jefferson, she would be lost. Her previous two relationships have ended in utter disaster. Both times, her two good for nothing boyfriends were cheating on her because she wasn’t ready to give up her elusive V-card, yet. When she caught her latest boyfriend in the midst with another woman in the school theatre, she broke down and called her big brother to come and get her. When her brother shows up to defend her and kick her latest boyfriend’s ass, he shows up with his best friend, Gunner. It was love at first sight for both Ellie and Gunner. Oh the joys of instant love.
If you don’t like being treated like a doormat then get the fuck off the floor
Drew “Gunner” Mathews has had his fair share of women. He and Jefferson are star football players for the University of Texas. He has never been in a long term relationship and really wasn't looking for one. But once he sets his eyes on Ellie, he was a goner. And as much as Ellie felt the same way, she was more guarded. With all the negative things her mom was feeding her, coupled with the cheating exes, Ellie was not about to be fooled again by another man. Gunner had his work cut out for him, but he was determined to convince her to give him a chance.
“Drew….it’s another first.”
He looked at me confused. “What is baby?”
“This…this feeling…it’s a first for me.”
“Tell me Ellie.”
“I have never in my life…ever felt so completely loved and…wanted.”
I was debating back and forth on what to rate this. For the most part, I really liked the story, and I just LOVE Gunner. Going into this story, I thought this was considered Mature YA/New Adult, but I think it teetered more on the adult side. There was a considerable amount steam, not that they were explicit or anything, but more than your typical Mature YA story would have. It also had a whole lot of cursing, which was fucking fine by me. lol. What I got annoyed with were the constant uses of the phrases: “Pesh,” “Gesh,” “Hells Bells,” “Gosh,” and “Jesus, Mary and Joseph.” They were all over the place! Every time I came across them, I was like, “What the fuck?” The author constantly cusses, but is reluctant to use “God.” I don’t know. It got way annoying.
Another thing that bothered me was the heroine Ellie. Not only did she constantly use the above phrases, but she sometimes acted like a fourteen year old girl. The way she spoke wasn’t very…I don’t know…grown up? Plus, she often jumped to conclusions and immediately got angry at Gunner. Talk to your boyfriend first before dumping him, okay Ellie? Gesh! lol.
Lastly, another negative of the story was its length. It was way too long. There came a point where it I just didn’t care anymore. There were so many things that could’ve been cut out. I just wanted it to end so I can move on. Plus the story could've seriously used an editor to clean up the shitload of punctuation errors.
Anyway, before I stop jabbering, I have to mention Jefferson and Ellie's BFF, Ari. She was just awesome. The shit that came out of her mouth…oh, my God, pure sailor mouth. LOVED her. As for Jefferson, totally swoon-worthy! To be honest, I was more interested in Jefferson and Ari’s story. I can’t wait for their book to come out.
Okay, I’m done. Sorry for my jibber jabber. If you’re looking for a long, simple read and don’t mind the constant cussing and other overly used childish phrases, then I think you will enjoy this.

I really enjoyed this book!!i wasn't sure how I felt at first with the pov switching back and forth but then I started to look forward to them! This story had me happy, mad, furious, sad, happy again!! All in all I just fell in love with the characters and can't wait for the next book!!

Simple and sweet, a story about first love. Not an original story line. Pretty standard high school/college love but enjoyable all the same. There were definitely parts that were filled with enough romance to keep the story going.
The books follows the story of Ellie an american High school graduate who has been verbally abused by her alcoholic mum all her life. Ellie meets gunner, her brothers best friend a tattooed football player - his character is the hero of the book, attempting to show Ellie through his love for her that she is 'wanted' hence the title. Surprisingly the book also follows the connection between Ellie's brother Jefferson and Arianna - Ellie's best friend, I was eager to find out more about this unlikely duo. The author does a great job of bringing the two sub characters into the lime light, leaving the reader with not one love story but two!
A light fluffy enjoyable read, that had my heart racing at some of the exchanges between the two couples.
"Ellie I would rather die than ever break your heart. I have never in my life felt like this. I would lay down my life for you if I had to. I love you baby."
The book does tend to be a tad repetitive and the use of the word f@£k appeared more times than necessary in my opinion, that being said it is great read for those who want a quick easy romance story that actually leaves you more than ready for book two.

The book does tend to be a tad repetitive and the use of the word f@£k appeared more times than necessary in my opinion, that being said it is great read for those who want a quick easy romance story that actually leaves you more than ready for book two.

This was absolutely horrible!! I've only once before returned a book and now this is two. Save your time and money, I promise you the editing will drive crazy the story line is weak and the characters are in some serious need to be further developed. The positive side is it did start off with promise. I wonder if any of these other people who gave reviews really read it at all? I say to the author please get some beta readers that love what your books can be and let them help you and also invest in having someone edit your book, this is your baby put some love into it, you have potential!!

Man oh man. Where do I start? First off, this book needs to be edited, hardcore. Just tons of misspellings going on. Secondly, it's just too freakin' wordy. I liked the idea of the characters and Drew/Gunner was a sweet guy but everything just seemed to move too fast and be a little too far fetched. The dialogue didn't seem natual at all. Besides the swearing which was plentiful, it was sometimes painful/cringe inducing reading the conversations between the characters. Then you read this insanely long book and it there is no ending! I'm guessing it's To Be Continued? But it didn't have to be. It could've easily been another chapter or two and then just finish up the story. Very frustrated. The little blurb of this book made me want to read this book. I'm a sucker for a book that involves athletes. But this was just a let down. Now I will probably have to read the next book, if there is one, because I will want to see how everything ends up. I so wanted to like this book, but in the end it was just mediocre.

Extremely sorry to say I hated this book.. I never give up on a book no matter how horrible it is I still finish it, but I couldn't wait to drop this book.. I loved the story line girl falling in love with brothers best friend. Sadly this book was so disappointing..
The heroine elli is a weakling who cries at the drop of the hat and just because her mom has been abusing her nothing physical but through words she doesn't trust any guy and thinks all guys cheat then why the hell does she go near a guy can't she be single spinster for life?? And the constant repetition of words "you will never be wanted by anyone" said to her by her mother during a drunken binge at the age of 7, she still remembers it even after a decade and goes by every word she said.
The hero gunner too good to be true prefect guy who understands elli.. And calling her sweetheart in every freaking sentence is just about annoying.. Gunner needs a realty check he keeps praising elli for every single stupid thing I don't think anybody does that even elli should get bugged with that and what's With the crying a puking.. And elli constantly telling him and everybody around that she wants to take it slow and be only friends but both have feelings for each other right from the beginning..
The only highlight of the book is the story of ari elli's BFF and Jeff Ellis's brother their constant bickering fighting and jealousy keeps the book some what alive.. I hope the author does not make their story as messed up as this one...

Had to give up on this book..
1. I’m pretty sure it was written by a fourteen year old.
2. No plot. No story. No characters. No one is compelling to read about, just four flat, one dimension characters and a few interchangeable ancillary friends.
3. Too vs. to. You’re vs. your. Their vs. there. Not to mention endless, endless typos. Learn the basics of the English language before trying to write a book using it. If learning the basics isn't an option, get a proofreader or editor.
4. I have no problem with profanity, but use it where it actually creates an emphasis. I didn't think it possible to include so many f’bombs in one story. Not to mention Grandma and Grandpa cursing up a storm. (All the characters talk in the same voice.. all of them cuss like sailors for no reason.)

5 Solid Texas Stars
I love this series - so much so, that when one of my GR friends was reading it, I ended up rereading it entirely.
Ellie and Gunner are the main couple in this book but Ari and Jeff's story runs through it too.
Gunner and Jeff are best friends, Ellie is Jeff's little sister and Arianna is her bestie.
This book is more than just a love story - it's about friend's, family and all the dynamics those connections have. It's got a healthy dose of angst, heaps of sex and swearing, a couple of bitchy OW that you love to hate. Yep....it's all good.
HEA? For Gunner and Ellie , yes, and it leads into the next book which focuses on Jeff and Ari.
Cheating? No

The world is all a bit crazy , sad and unpredictable just now , so jumping back to a book world where you get swept up in the dramas that are all resolved with a happy ever after seems like a good idea.
The books remind me of crazy over the top soap operas....oh the drama....
This is a quick synopsis but the basis of all the books are the same:
-Girl falls in love with cowboy / rancher / horse breeder/ carpenter (who are all wealthy but grounded) and the guy reciprocates all the feelings.
- Some pesky hussy with legs for days and amazing boobs tries to lure said boy away.
-There is usually a previous connection or one night stand with said hussy, then something majorly dramatic happens and our heroine leaves in something of a snit.
-The Hero is bereft, gets off his face drunk and contemplates possibly bonking another woman to fix his broken heart ...
-The hussy rocks up , seizing her chance and tantalising the Hero with her magical boobs/ legs/ hair...
- The Hero nearly folds...
But love prevails. The OW is sent packing. The crisis is averted and there is a reunion involving great passion and lurve.
Nearly every heroine gets pregnant , delivers a baby and is demanding bedroom antics from her man within hours of childbirth. All the characters are giving 'weak smiles' , 'weak grins', licking their lips , biting their lips , the Hero is pulling the heroines lip out from her biting it. And don't get me started on the winking. Dear Lord the winking. Everyone winks. Sometimes multiple characters on the page are winking.
I don't care though - I still love all the drama and angst.
The books need to be read in order really to follow the flow of the characters journeys.

SPOILLLEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSS
THIS BOOK SERIOUSLY MADE ME WANT TO PUKE, SCREAM, YELL IN FRUSTRATION, GIGGLE LIKE A LITTLE GIRL AND GRIN LIKE CRAZY.
It has seriously and officially given me a freaking personality disorder.

This book is pretty much the corniest, most intense I thing have ever read. The amount of drama these four characters get into in the span of one whole book is RIDICULOUS. Seriously imagine every single contemporary new adult/ young adult drama you could think of made into a sandwich that is this book. The book tackled cheating, domestic abuse, pregnancies, car accidents, sporting accidents, hospitals, bitchy girls, love triangles, proposals, marriages, punch ons/fights, restraining orders (yeah wtf), intense jealousy, bickering, and lots of pining. And the writing.. geh.
I will start off by saying this book was REALLY difficult to get into for me. The writing was just cringe worthy at time and the leads Gunner/Drew and Ellie fell in love so fast you couldnt even say "what just happened." I mean it just felt completely unrealistic to me.. and I wanted to puke if he said she was beautiful one more time. (we get it buddy, it was cute the first time, then it just got nauseating). Even the repetition of "you will never be wanted by anyone" just got frustrating to the point of infuriating. It just took up way too much of the book. I was seriously yelling at the book screaming "HE LOVES YOU, GET THAT IN YOUR HEAD GIRL!!" And I say girl because she is just so damn innocent, yet she was eighteen... it kind of confused me, because realistically nowadays girls can tell when guys like them and arent that freaking clueless half the time. Not only this, but half the time I couldnt tell the difference between being in her head and Gunners.. I swear half the crap Gunner thought a boy would not think. They both acted too alike and I felt there needed to be a bigger disparity between the two character's inner thoughts.
What else.. oh yeah my IDIOTIC man Jeff. Really, was it necessary for you to be such a dick and a manwhore to her for such a long time. His reasoning for distancing himself from Ariana stood the first time, but after she tells you she loves you... gahhhh. Sleeping with Rebecca (really not cool man) and her getting preggers. IT BETTER NOT BE HIS. YOU FIGHT FOR HER OR THERE WILL BE SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS ! SO much hating on his character. Yet, for some reason I still wanted him to get the girl.. talk about confusion.
I will say that the book got slightly better towards the end... and for some reason I couldn't not read the book. I know it makes no sense to me either. It's like my brain computed how silly this book is, but still wanted to know how the drama unfolded (despite how ridiculously cliched this book was). So yes, I will probably read the next book, even though I will probably also be thinking "what the fuck" as i read it. Let's pray it gets better and not just every situation not covered in this book thrown into the next book. And let me tell you all there are no story lines left except for a character to kill someone or go to jail haha. Oh and Aria and Jeff better get their happy ending or I will get super nova pissed. I mean he finally chased after her, but I'm going to cross fingers he isnt the baby daddy. That's what you get for thinking with your dick Jeff!
At least some of the steamy scenes were pretty enjoyable to read.

This started out promising, sweet. Then it got ugly.
Here are the problems:
1. Too much screaming from everyone, and I was reading it. I can't even believe how bad an audio book would be.
2. Too much crying and that was just the guys. Really! I am from Texas, and believe me UT football players do not cry as much as these big babies. I love a sensitive guy as much as the rest, but please. Here's a hankie.
3. Too much instal-love, and I mean INSTA LOVE. The instant whatshisface sees the heroine it's love, and he tells her brother. Nope, not going to happen.
4. Waaaayyyyyy too much cussing, It's been several years, okay decades, since I was a teenager, but nope.
5. A DNF for me, and that's pretty rare. I think there was a potential stalker situation coming from one of the minor characters that Iwas curious about, but I just could not do it.
6. The writing was amateurish to a certain degree. It needed several drafts to get up to speed.

I loved this book. I can't wait until the next book comes out!
I know from the other reviews that this is a hit-or-miss book. Part of the reason that many people don't like it is that they don't get connected to the characters. For me that was an easy thing. The way Ellie feels about Gunner is something I can relate to. The feelings of insecurity and especially the feeling of waiting for the floor to drop. But the way Gunner treats her is breathtaking. It's the way every girl dreams to be treated - like a princess.
I loved how real the book was as well. One of the ways that Ms. Elliot accomplished that is s the language. There is a lot if cussing in this book. But you have to remember the context - 18-20 year old country kids. They swear, a lot. There's nothing wrong with that. To have them talk in any other way - especially the internal monologue parts - would have detracted from the characters.
The only things negative I got from this book were one I wish that there had been more from Jefferson and Ari and two there were several typos throughout the book, especially toward the end. But these are both minor things in my assessment. Overall I loved the book and can't wait for book two!

first read 2012:- I really enjoyed Wanted the characters are great and I love the plot also the joint POV's between Ellie and Gunner. But I must say if Ellie had said she had "push her legs together to stop the ache" anymore I was about to scream. I mean sort it out yourself or ask Gunner!!!!! Also I want a 2nd book as I have to know how all goes between Jefferson and Ari.

I was pretty sure my eyes were going to get stuck in the top of my head, from all the eye rolling I was doing while reading this book. I'm completely confused as to how this book managed to rake in a 4 star rating... I felt like 1 star was being generous. This was honestly the WORST book I have ever read, and the first time I have considered asking for my money back from Barnes and Noble. The only reason I finished this book was because of my crazy compulsion to finish each book I read, no matter how poorly they are written. The major thing I concluded from this book, was that the author Kelly Elliott clearly needs some better friends. Friends who will proof-read her work, before sending it to publication; friends who will also supply her with a thesaurus and a good dictionary, or at least give her some alternatives for her redundant use of curse words, and remind her how to spell basic words. I'm not opposed to cursing in a book... My husband will be the first to tell you that his lovely and sweet wife, actually curses like a sailor most of the time. I actually prefer swearing in books during fits of passion... I feel like it can really add a certain intensity to particular scenes. This book took it above and beyond. Literally every second word was either; sh*t or f*ck. It was ridiculous... especially since the main character Ellie was supposed to be some overly innocent and delicate flower who had never been touched. I eventually started coming up with my own sentences while reading this book, just to make it more interesting. I thought I was going to loose it and throw my ever-treasured nook against the wall, If I read the sentences: "my d*ck just twitched at the sight of her", or "There was that ache between my legs again." ARGH!!!!!!!!

Most of the story was told from either Gunner or Ellie's point of view... but then the author would throw in random chapters that were told from Ari and Jeff's point of view... the only reasoning I could figure was because the author just wanted to mess with us. The chapters were completely unnecessary, and just added more length to a book that was already about three times longer than it needed to be. Ari and Jeff were also just awful character's to read about. They were so whiny and immature, I just wanted to punch them. Then after forcing us to read about their ridiculous love story... we were left completely hanging. Was the baby Jeff's? Did they get married? I have no idea... because we weren't given ANY clues to how that whole thing panned out.
Now, I know what I'm writing might be harsh. The last thing I want to do is hurt someone's feelings. I have a lot of respect for anyone that can put themselves out there with their writing and allow others to read it. However, I feel like if you are going to charge people to read your work; the least you can do is proof-read it, and have someone else go over it as well. I've read A LOT of books, and quite a few of them have had grammatical errors... it happens, we're all human. This book took it above and beyond though. It was like the words were written, and the author never looked back at what she wrote, and just said... "let's publish this bitch."

I like my characters to read with shades of gray (n I don't mean like fifty of them ;)) but atleast some variation that makes them more real more believable. its a college mushy romance and I get all the reason why its the way it is but I just couldn't get over the repetitive factor of some portions in the book. at one point I just felt pathetic for drew.he's always literally begging ellie for her to understand him or accept his love for her.I get that she has self esteem or confidence or value issues coz of her mother but I think even to a blind man who is being loved for and cared for all the time n shown the world by the only person for whom ure the universe,get a message!
as a story its sweet.its got drama, copious amounts of mush (like how), a fantastic support cast.love the wisdom of grams and gramps.ari and jeff add all the spunk to the story to be honest.I like drew n ellie but its just toooo perfect for me.every word out of his mouth is candy and right. every word put of hers is laced with fear and insecurities.
I guess I'm looking at it very cynically or maybe too critically. but its how I felt. I just hope when I read jeff n ari I don't see their story start all over again but progress from where it left in 'wanted'.
its a decent read (though I did skimm through some portions coz I felt it slowing down the story). the plot reminds me of a mills n boons...its not bad.it just sounded very promising and I didn't feel this book delivered on that. its too caught up on the mush whereas I would have liked a little more intensity a little more serious drama coz it had the potential.
I wish Kelly Elliott would re edit this book and tighten the story a bit.it needs some refurbishing so that it delivers on the promise of being a good story coz it definitely has merit. and it needs a copy check - proof reading for sure coz there are some spellos.

May 30, 2020I'm not going to rate this, because I skimmed at least 1/2 of it mostly reading Jeff/Ari POV's so I could catch up to book 2.
Each book focuses on a different couple, but these books are NOT standalones. They each have several POV’s and the storyline continues throughout all the books. K. Elliott typically uses the same “blueprint” for all the books in each series.
For her Wanted series she follows this formula: H & h are MADLY in love… OTT aggressive OW enters picture usually with cheating or alleged cheating… miscommunication, jealousy, fighting ensues… HEA… epilogue teaser for the next book that looks REALLY bad, but never is. The H is a few years older reformed man-whore, and almost always one will have a supportive family, while the other will not.
