USA Today Bestselling Author Dawn Montgomery loves to write almost as much as she loves to read. She has traveled the world twice over. While her days were filled with long hours and hard work, her nights were left for dark, lustful fantasies in and out of strange hotels and cities.

Alaska and Texas are the places she calls home. She recently moved from the frigid North to Texas with her family and neurotic dog. It was tragic to leave behind the moose and bear for wide open plains and sexy cowboys.

Recently turned onto these authors via a reading group I'm involved in on Facebook. I'd not read anything by either before so wasn't sure what to expect. Well, I knew it would be, ehm, adult, by the group content. Wow, I was right! Very adult. That said, it was also well written. Unlike a lot of authors doing the adult thing now that a certain book opened the floodgates, this one has both plot and heat. YAY! Oh, and the dual author thing that usually sends me into a spiral as the styles shift was non-existent. Yep, this one was seamless.
A very loyal paranormal reader and writer, I love to read this genre. These authors didn't disappoint. The lore here was quite fantastic. If anything was missing, it was that I wanted even more on this background mythology. The good news: this one can be read as a standalone but there are others like it. I'll have to go check them out to see if they expand on this interesting twist on the mythology. The hero is a shifter but with a twist, I really liked it. The plot was fresh in a kind of Dr. Moreau's Island sort of way and the heroine's little "problem" wasn't a poor me sort of thing, it was well done. She pushed on to function in her magical world despite her issues.
If you like a paranormal romance for grownups and are looking for something fresh, give this one a go. It's quick, it's hot, and it very well written. Check it out.

Written by Julia, an awesome Bex 'n' Books reviewer.

Foxfire is the result of the first collaboration between authors, Ditter and Dawn Montgomery and I must say I am ecstatic to know it is not their last!

From the first page I was drawn in by the raw power mixed with the helplessness of the situation our hero, Shad, has immediately been thrown into. No matter what he tried to do, it was inevitable what was about to happen. That did not, however, stop me from chewing my nails wishing for a different outcome. Then I was immediately introduced to our heroine, Ayala, and she is so incredibly likable and easy to relate to that once again I found myself reading faster and faster to see what would happen next, and I was NOT disappointed. To say that our protagonists’ first "meeting" was anything less than electric would be just plain WRONG! Now if that is not enough for you, right on the heels of this comes a bad boy biker...and he is HOT HOT HOT! Then add "Just Another Little Murder" and I could not put it down!

The authors have in incredible grasp of character and plot development. Everything was written to allow the reader to feel and believe in the magic of the story. From their first encounter, Shad and Ayala burn up the pages. When Ayala's pulse is beating faster and harder as Shad places his mouth to the inside of her wrist, my heart was beating faster and faster, as well. Their attraction and subsequent love is steamy, dreamy and EXPLOSIVE!!! The secondary characters are written just as well and introduced so flawlessly making me pace the floor waiting for the next in the series to become available. They were written like awesome supporting actors and actresses that only enhanced the story.

To say that this series is simply a paranormal romance is selling it way too short. Yes, it has shape-shifters, witches, fae, and demonic magic and it is one super steamy love story, but it also has mystery and thrills and keeps you guessing all the way through. I was left wanting more and more and more because these characters are so well written that I felt like I really knew them and want to know more of them. It is reassuring to know that there are other books coming in this series and the characters that were so well introduced will also be able to tell their story. It completely added to the overall enjoyment of this book! I cannot wait to read more from these authors!!!

Foxfire is a fabulous story that carries you into a sensational world of shapeshifters, mystical beings, Magick and adventure. The authors have done such a wonderful job of artfully mixing all these characteristics so that it does not come out as overly elaborate or confusing.

Our two protagonists, Alaya and Shad, are extremely likeable characters and you find yourself easily able to relate to both of them in one way or another. Alaya, who seems to simply be a plain human with no magical qualities or noteworthy traits, turns out to have the greatest power of all, but in a way that no one would have expected.

Shad, on the other hand, is an aggressive and extremely powerful shapeshifter, who is left fundamentally powerless in a mansion controlled by evil. The longer he remains trapped in his prison, the more his death become imminent. He would do anything to escape, until Alaya comes into his life and ultimately becomes more important than anything else. Even his own salvation.

The chemistry between the pair is explosive from the get-go and it will leave you absolutely flustered and fanning yourself. Some of the scenes in the book were super sexy and hot!

What I loved most about this book, however, was how clever the plot was. There was not one moment where you knew what to expect or what was coming. It was a very well thought-out story line and it held you firmly in its grip, keeping your attention till the very end. It was very well-written and a real page turner.

Another thing I loved about Foxfire was how I was immediately interested in finding out more about some of its secondary characters when I was not even halfway through the book. I was delighted to find out that these characters will be getting their own books and stories told.

This series will definitely capture your imagination and have you begging for more. The authors did a fantastic job and make an amazing writing duo. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who loves the paranormal and mystical element. You will not be disappointed!

This was my first book by Dawn and Ditter. I enjoyed this book and there were a few times that I was so engrossed in the story that I forgot everything else around me.
The storyline and characters were very intriguing. I really enjoyed the whole "Clue" theme with the magic and paranormal twist brought into it. This series has a lot of potential.

Alaya, a beautiful woman who is allergic to magic. She is a magic null. A knock at the door changes her life. She will soon find out just how much.

Shad, a handsome mysterious Kitsune, fox shifter who is imprisoned magically. He doesn't know it yet but he soon finds out that not everything and everyone is who and what they seem.

When Shad and Alaya meet the magical journey begins. Shad and Alaya had an instant attraction. You could feel their passion. They fit perfectly together. The secondary characters in this book stand out making them unforgettable. You will want to read their stories.
All in all this story was great. I'm looking forward to seeing how the series progresses. There are some things I am hoping the authors expand on. I am hoping in the next book we get more of this magikal world Ditter and Dawn created together.
This book is filled with mystery, death, action, lust, passion, and sizzling sex scenes.

Alaya is a Magical Null, allergic so to speak to magic, and an empath. Shad is a Kitsune, Fox shifter and has been trapped by a dark and fierce man, Mr. Devonshire,a collector of the paranormal, for hundreds of years. Unknowing Alaya thinks she has been invited to a murder mystery. The mystery in fact is a dire in order for her to survive the night and leave whole. Shad is to aquire his target, Alaya, as pronounced by Devonshire, collect her for her powerful magic and possibly gain his freedom. Alaya is drawn to Shad and has felt as if she already knows him, and sees what he truely is, as well as the other collected, when she shouldn't. Shad has to have her, wants her more than anything, protect her. Can they survive the night and beat Devonshire?

This is a great beginning to a new series. I was captured from beginning to end and can not wait for the next book Shift the Night.

OMG LOVED IT!! What would you do if you received an invitation to a party from a hot guy and the envelope changes colors and shows signs of magic and you think that it's for someone else, do you go? Alaya decides to go and have fun but the party doesn't turn out the way she thought it would, though hot sex is always awesome. Shad is stuck and can't leave. What happens when you have someone who sees through the illusions and sets you on fire and you decide you can't do what you were told to do? For Alaya and Shad you take the chance to free everyone and but do they have their happy ending? I already LOVE Dawn and now I'm going to have to check out Ditter. I highly recommend this book but please have time to read it in one sitting because you won't want to put it down!

I will start by saying I'm not a normal reader of stories about "majick" so it took me a bit to get into the story. But once the story got started it was really good. I loved the mystery part of the story as much as the romance. It was nice how all the different character worked together to free themselves from the evil that held them hostage. I hated that we didn't get much time with Shad and Ayala so was glad to hear that there is another book coming in the series. I hope that they make an appearance so we can see what they are up to and I hope we get to see Alaya's mother as well-she seems like she would be a lot of fun! Congrats to the first book together Ditter and Dawn

Separately Dawn and Ditter are fantastic writers. Together? DYNAMITE!!!! I absolutely loved this book! What more do you need than a dreamy and dominate hero, a strong-willed heroine, magic in the air and lots of drama? Such a great read! Bring on book 2!

A Kitsune, a magickal null, and a murder mystery weekend, all the ingredients needed for a captivating read. Dawn Montgomery and Ditter Kellen have done an outstanding job at blending their impressive creative talents into a seamless work of art. I am a fan of both authors separately, but haven't had the chance to read any of their other collaborative works. I wondered how well they would work together. If one writer's style would overpower the others, or they wouldn't mesh well, and you could tell where one left off and another started. Happily this was not the case. I couldn't tell who wrote what. They were like master weavers crafting a story full of interesting characters, that you can't help but want to know more about. They have set the stage for a full blown series, with a diverse set of paranormal beings you will want to read about.

FoxFire is a short paranormal romance about a fox shifter and a magical null. Alaya answers an invite to a murder mystery weekend at a lavish mansion and meets the foxy Shad. This is not only the beginning of a heartfelt romance, but hopefully an interesting and complex series. These wickedly devious ladies (Dawn and Ditter), have successfully seeded this story with tantalizing tidbits of information to tempt our curiosity. Not only will you fall in love with Alaya and her magickal allergies, which cause her to sneeze, whenever someone tries to cast magic on her, but the rest of the supporting cast.

I thoroughly loved this book. But like Chinese food, which I adore. I want MORE! I hope they write the next book real soon.

I was given and eARC of this book for an honest review.
