That wishing was useless.

People always assumed he was stupid anyway. But people only see whats on the outside, and not Brutes beautiful heart...and his need to simply be wanted.

"Wh-why so k-k-kind?" Nobody had ever called Brute kind before.Spending time with the abused and neglected prisoner, Gray, Brute can't stop himself from helping Gray...from easing his pain and connecting to the lonely and mistreated prisoner.

"What have I ever done for you?"
"You made me feel like someone cared
about me."
“Y-you're a giant because an ordinary man's body is t-to small for what you are.”
“Don't you d-dare say you're ugly or stupid or worthless. Don't you dare! Y-you’re a giant because an ordinary man’s body is t-too small for what you are.”
It was the only time anyone ever touched him, and, as meaningless as those touches were, he suspected that he’d shrivel up and die without them.
"The true thanks is the happiness of the recipient.”

“Don’t you d-dare say you’re ugly or stupid or w-worthless. Don’t you dare! Y-you’re a giant because an ordinary man’s body is t-too small for what you are.”
“I’m your jailer!”
“N-nobody can remove these chains. B-but you’ve freed my heart.”
“It doesn’t have to m-mean anything. J-just c-comfort given, comfort shared. Or it can mean everything.”
“Kashta says the gods favor us.” “But your eyes, and all those years in the cell… doesn’t sound much to me like the gods favor you.”
“But they brought you to me, didn’t they?”

“Don’t t-tell you my heart beats for you? Don’t tell you my ssoul sings for you? Don’t tell you that you’re hope to me, l-life to me, the c-center of my fucking universe?”
