I love the book as it was written by a female author, usually I read Islamic marriage or relationship book written by male author.
Which sometimes I feel they don't understand female well in relationship or marriage position.
But this book being written by female author, something that relates a lot to me as a wife and a daughter. I can see the wisdom behind every guidelines that Islam has prepared for us.
However I did not agree with the author on the part where the grandparents looking after the grandkids while their parents are working. Which I think can't be listed as perk of staying with parents.
Other than that the example and explanation very understandable. I am sure most women can relate to this book 👍.
A really nice concise, must read for anyone seeking marriage. By no means is the book extensive or give you ALL the answers but it is a start. You get enough guidance to know where to start and what should you NOT be doing.
An excellent read and eye-opener. It cleared many misconceptions and brought forth the reality that strikes hard after a fairy tale marriage. Must read! It will make you fall in love with the Prophet (sa) for he was an excellent husband and you would actually pray for your husband to be as loving and caring as he was. Alhumdulillah.
It was a wedding present I thought I'd never read....but then picked it up one day and couldn't put it down.
Written from a Pakistani Muslim female perspective with anecdotes about cultural practices and references to the Qur'an and hadiths. It's not a lecture - more conversational and light hearted. Sadaf discusses some interesting topics and I liked how there's an entire chapter on 'The Good Muslim Husband'.
A must read for both men and women - especially who are Muslim. Whether we're happy or not, there's at least one thing we can take from this book.
