What happens when an assassin falls for a woman who is trying to kill herself?
The saga begins with an assassin in crisis...
David Lambrecht, aka Cupid, works for an international covert agency. He has a life of adventure, mystery, and accountability to only the most powerful in this world.
Unfortunately his past is catching up with him. His sanity -- and his life -- are at stake. In the midst of personal crisis, he must deal with a traitor who is selling government secrets and profiting from the international drug trade.
An unlikely "angel"...
Debbie Aldridge, a young artist, struggles in the isolation of an eating disorder amidst the extravagance of Beverly Hills. Her efforts to stand on her own, to succeed with her art, and to reach out to friends, are trampled by overbearing parents and by her addiction.
When her weak heart gives out, Debbie has a near death experience, a glimpse of heaven, and life changing words from her grandmother. She returns to life with a purpose. But she must find a woman called Cat.
And a prophet...
David's cousin Cat has visions of his peril -- and a white-haired girl with her hand on his heart. What will it take to save their lives?
Ordinary people in extraordinary situations fuel Maeve Christopher’s imagination. Keep asking “what if” and “why,” and the plot thickens. What could be more fun?
Her bestselling Redemption Series is part family saga, part suspense, and part love story -- with the touch of the Supernatural. Tongue firmly in cheek, it deals with the age-old question: What happens when an assassin falls for a woman who is trying to kill herself?
Maeve’s new series, The Golden Bowl, is set on the scenic coast of Maine. This unusual restaurant caters to the body, soul, and spirit. A large gold bowl on the front porch gives the establishment its name and invites patrons to leave a prayer and take a prayer. When they do: lives change.
Maeve lives in Massachusetts with too many characters and a number of messy subplots. She loves to hear from readers. Subscribe to Maeve’s Email Updates for exclusive content, contests, special offers, and more at http://maevechristopher.com
This book while it may start off a bit slow is anything but. I was truly in awe by the powerful message I got from this book. Maeve's use of the characters narration left me laughing so hard I cried. The entire storyline was excellently put out there without it being boring. As a fan of historical romance I felt this book had a little but of their mannerisms. "Courting and calling on". It made me smile to think of someone doing that in this day and age. The characters came to life for me and I became Debbie and I felt every ounce of her pain. And I felt every triumph. She overcame what many young girls don't. I felt the love she has for David. I know the feeling of just not caring whether you live or die. This book touched me so personally and on so many levels that I was left speechless. I was left humbled. I was left knowing that as long as I love God and I continue to follow Him then all will be well. My favorite part of the entire book was actually the last sentence. It was just what that book needed. I don't know what you call it but it made me laugh my ass off and pray I had enough in my account so I could buy the next one!!! Don't get me wrong, this book was a grammatical nightmare but I'm a stickler for getting things perfect when someone else can see it. Ok I got off topic. I thought that all the guys were hunks but I mean who knows a scrawny hero. The females seemed like me and my friends. I loved the loyalty and sense of family throughout this book. It is a definite must read and now I have to convince my husband that I absolutely need the next 2 books in this series.
I'd like to thank Maeve for writing this and for strengthening my resolve to be a better Christian. I truly loved the biblical references within the book.
it was very enjoyable read , There was alot of people and this is the very first book that I have read about faith ... It was very good and interesting.. I love how David and Debbie came together .. I did however laughed at the end of the book looking forward to reading the next one in series ....
Completely enjoyed Killer Cupid! This book was hard to put down and was nothing like what I thought it would be. With lots of twist and turns you find yourself falling for the characters and the message behind the eloquent words packs a punch. Highly recommend this read.
I opened this book and could not stop until I had read it all.. Maeve Christopher is a Fantastic author the book draws you in.. the Love Between David and Debbie is unusual but beautiful.. the Christian content is spirit led.. you do not have to be a Christian to read it.. the book has a running story of secret service.. fun sorrow and suspense with the secret agents.. .. a book to make you THINK .. laugh and cry .. I would recommend this book to all..
My only complaint- too many people thrown at you. I needed a map to chart who everyone was. David and Debbie what an unlikely couple! Cat is such an interesting character as well as her fiancé Cisco. The Generals, the killers and the girlfriends- oh my! I look forward to the next book to see which direction the story goes.
This was a fast read as I couldn't put it down. It is full of romance, laughs, danger, mystery, you name it. It is full of spirituality, supernatural occurrences intertwining the special forces with the music industry. The family bonds are strong in the novel that spans world wide. I couldn't wait to get to the next book in this thrilling series.. whew.......Kudos Maeve!
I did enjoy the story, even though the relationship between David and Debbie was rushed, but turned out good for both in the end. There was a lot of jumping around between characters, but the author did let u know when the POV was changing. It did have the suspense element going on, which I liked. Good book with faith family drama, and lots of love.
This book had a lot of characters in it. It took me a while to get my head around all the characters but it was definitely worth getting into. There is more religion than I normally read in Killer Cupid but I still really enjoyed it. the storyline was excellent.
I came across this book on my Kindle not sure how or when it got there....LOL. It definitely had it's ups and down, intrigue and mystery while covering many topics. Well done Maeve Christopher.
This was my first book written by Maeve Christopher and one I enjoyed very much!
This story involves around more characters I've ever read in a book before and each unique in their own way. The story contains romance, love, mystery, suspense and even spiritual awareness. First time I've read that in a romance book and I have to say I liked it! It also covers a disease I've not read about in a book before.
Really enjoyed the main characters, Debbie and David. Loved his protectiveness towards her, warmed my heart. The other cast of characters were intriguing as well.
The only thing that would catch me up was my having to refer back a few pages to recall who was "speaking " and being introduced to so many characters, trying to remember who was who.
Definitely worth reading! I know I'll be reading the rest of this series because I'm hoping to get to know them all even more!!
Book Review: Killer Cupid: The Redemption Series (Book 1) By: Maeve Christopher
I really enjoyed this book. There is entertainment, suspense, comedy, and romance. The author used many concepts and creatively linked them into an intriguing story. I particularly enjoyed the use of the concepts of the bible, God, and Jesus. I also liked the idea of people being linked even if they'd never met. And of course the subject of true love. I mean who doesn't love a great love story. Even men will love this love story. It has tons of action. Many men characters in the book are tough guy undercover special agents. And this is only book one of the series. After this book you definitely want to read the rest of the series.
A cute read with a lot of action. Tons of characters keep you guessing. I have to admit I didn't get the possible pursuer right. Though, maybe I do have it pegged...Book 2 may reveal more? What a peculiar couple David and Debbie make. Though I absolutely like that they are a couple. It's intriguing enough I kept turning the pages to the end. Did seem to drag a little at a few parts. But not to badly. I really like the background religious context. Nothing wrong with adding some moral and values in a story. Guess I'll be looking at the next book in the series to find out just who and what the bad guy is up to ;) FUN!
This romantic suspense was an entertaining read that promised to be the begining of an outstanding series. It started with an assassin in crisis who is betrayed and falls in love about the same time. Killer Cupid is well written with a large cast of characters - the more to like.
I bought this book because it was free, and I was hooked. I couldn't wait to read the other books in the series. I loved that the characters weren't perfect, and the mystery that surrounded them.
I love her writing. The story has very complex family units, but there is never a dull moment in the storyline. The flow is great. Looking for more Maeve Christopher books!
I did find this book quite difficult to read at the start because of all the characters points of view. I did enjoy it though when I got my head around it.
First, I think readers should know this book is told by alternating characters, so be sure to pay attention to which person is speaking. Not hard, the author has done a great job with stating the names as a heading. Readers follow the characters through an interesting story. For me, Debbie Aldridge, who suffers from some mental anxieties is the most interesting. After a near death experience, she is hunting for a person named Cat, because she has information for her. Cat has a cousin, David Lambrecht, also known as cupid. David has a job that is not exactly going to win him the nice guy award. The story twists and turns and takes readers on a great journey.
