Jake Talon and his brother Aaron grew up in the zombie apocalypse. All they have ever known is a world constantly threatened with extinction from the undead hordes which roamed the land. Taught by their father to survive and live, the two men drift, unsure of their future. As Jake and Aaron try to figure out what they were meant to do with this world of theirs, someone has plans to bring the zombies back.
Generation Dead marks the beginning of an exciting new stand alone series from Joseph Talluto and takes place some 20 years after the conclusion of The White Flag of the Dead series.
This entire series has me on the fence. All in all, it's a bit too.. cheerful, for a post-apocalyptic hellfest. On the other hand, the action is good, the ideas are better than expected, and situations are dealt with in a reasonably realistic way.
Generation dead sees us looking in on the children of the protagonists from WFOTD. We jump into the action seeing some very unstable teens with deep issues with each other. They all mature within the month. I guess we jump in just as their hormone levels flatten out.
Not a bad book, but not the greatest. I'll still get the next one when it comes out.
This is sort of a different take on the zombie apocalypse. Years have passed and new towns have sprung up. Most of the zombies are contained in big cities, but there are still some loose. Now someone is trying to revive the virus for their own diabolical purpose and it is up to the "collectors" to find out what's going on. I like the way this series is going and I'm off to read the next book!
A great start to the next generation of the White Flag of the Dead saga. There are lots new unknowns in the story line and the same type of story telling that I enjoyed in the White Flag series.
