I enjoy reading Jim Denney books--for I have learned so much from him. I just submitted my third book yesterday as I finished this book today. I have been rejected many times, I have been told to do a re-write. But, I have the fire to write more and more books. In this book I have learned more information on how I can be a better writer. I love his work, I love his books and I thank him for making me a greater writer, story teller and for opening more doors for my future.

There was some good tips and information in this book. Unlike many books, this had nothing to do with writing magazine articles.

It may be just me but it felt like that author kept repeating himself at times. I also personally didn't find the style engaging.

This was a good book, but it was published in 2004. If you are familiar with the publishing industry, you know that you have to keep up with the times. While a lot of what Denney says still rings true, some of it is dated. I bought this way back when, and just got around to finishing it, and I know why. A lot of this I can't use. So, I would say it will be a good read for anyone who is unfamiliar with how things work in publishing, what you should be doing as a writer every day to progress your career. I truly recommend getting current books on writing and marketing your books.

THis book is more useful for freelance writers than novel writers, and it is easy to read, but not the best reference on the topic.

This book is especially useful for any one wanting to write full-time as their career. Loads of useful tips on how the author got started, as well as, others like JK Rowling.
