Better written than the previous one, but missing an explanation here and there. It plays interestingly into the game mechanics while trying to make sense.
More interesting than the previous book as it spends more time exploring planetary consciousness and its relation/interaction with humans. However it still is fairly pulpy and makes unnecessary sacrifices in order to build a cliff hanger. I doubt things are going to get much better in the third novel however having been sucked into the story I’ll be finding out.
