Today you will hear many people say that all you need to do is think positively and everything will be ok, you’ll be happier. This does help, up to a certain point. There are many books available that discuss this, and their theory behind it is to live in the present moment. This is true, however I always felt that there was a missing piece, a key per se, which goes a step further in explaining how to do this.

I found this book to be an easy read and I was able to read this in less than one day while travelling. The author’s writing style in very simple to understand and the concepts are easy. The book was built on the works of Syd Banks and George Pransky and is about mind, thought and consciousness which is believed to be the path to understanding how life works and to being liberated and happy. I must admit that a few times in the beginning, the first 20 pages or so, I was tempted to stop reading as I felt that the author was rambling a bit, talking about how easy it is to implement this new way of thought but was not actually revealing how to reach this state. What kept me going was the fact that he actually kept stating to not give up, and give the book a chance.

What was shocking to me was that while reading this book, I had a huge epiphany when I read on page 31 “we’re living in the feeling of our thinking, not the feeling of the world.” I read it in just the nick of time and was able to side step a huge and impactful mistake which would have caused some serious consequences. I realized right then that I WAS indeed living in my feeling of my thinking. I was assuming that people were miserable and needed saving, when in fact, they were happy and content and didn’t need my help at all. It was ME that was miserable. When I understood this I was able to let go of my preconceived notions and sit back and enjoy life. This lesson alone made reading the book worthwhile.

Although it seems that the concepts of awareness are simple and easy to do, they are impactful. I am pleased that the author includes a section for further reading. I also like the fact that, even though the book is short and simple, at the end of each chapter the author summarizes the points of that chapter.

I found this book to be profound. I highly recommend this book.

At first it started well with some of the same principles I teach about thoughts. Then it descended into too much spiritual mumbo jumbo that dilutes just how powerful this could be. I'm sure the author has some wonderful beliefs about energy and the universe but they come across too heavily as part of this and not an option. I teach the opposite which clients find liberating. Each to their own but this book wasn't for me.

Accessible, relevant and simplistic in its message. That's what I loved: there's nothing revelatory here. Everything was merely a confirmation bc when we move to our inside, and to our "factory settings," the thoughts flowing through us (mind) recognize these basic truths. I am adding this to my reference shelf and will be reading it multiple times.

Similar to other self help books. Supporting the centering of your "self". Balance. Referred to me by a counselor. The list of self help books under my belt did not enable me to view this book as something completely profound. It is much like a beautiful pebble on a beautiful beach. A perfect one of many.

This short book contains so many large truths. Building on the work of Syd Banks and my friend and teacher, George Pransky, this book shines a bright light on the path to liberation and happiness. Mind/Thought/Consciousness are the keys to understanding how life works, what it is to be a human being, and how to recognize thoughts for what they are...thereby liberating ourselves from their tyranny.

Highly recommended.

I have been a fan of Michael Neill for many years. I've listened to his radio show on Hay House Radio. I've read some of his books. I've listened to his podcast and read some of his blog posts. He's a life coach with a background in psychology. He struggled early in life with depression and suicidal thoughts, so he read every self-help book he could get his hands on. And he learned something: generally, self-help books don't really help. So he tried to find a better way.

The Inside-Out Revolution is a short listen (or read, if you get the book; I find his voice soothing, so I like to buy his books on audio), and it's hard to explain what he really teaches in that short time. But you walk away remembering that most of what we worry about, get angry about, and obsess about is just noise.

Technically, the book is an explanation of the Three Principles, those being mind, consciousness, and thought. Mind is the great intelligence behind all life (God, or the universe, or however you choose to think of it). Consciousness is our awareness of life. And thought is the rudder that guides each of us in our lives. And that's the Inside-Out Revolution--the idea that we are creating our own reality with our thoughts. Which means we are just one thought away from a happier life.

It seems too easy, right? I agree. But listening to this book made a lot of my anxiety and frustration with the world fall from my shoulders. It hasn't changed anything--I haven't won the lottery or been handed an amazing new job or even bought a new car. But I'm happy. I feel like I'm in control of my destiny.

I also feel like I'm going to have to listen to this book several more times to really get what he's saying and to be able to put it into practice. It's simple, and yet it's very challenging. But it's good. If you're someone who struggles like I do with anxiety or with depression, or someone who is looking for a not-a-self-help-book self-help book, then I strongly recommend this. You don't even have to understand what he's saying in order to feel better. And eventually, as you slowly wrap your head around the Three Principles and the idea that we are creating our own reality with our thoughts, you'll find that maybe The Inside-Out Revolution was the miracle that changed your life.

Pointing us towards our own inner wisdom and innate health.

This book is a short and pleasant listen about the nature of our human experience. It points us towards a direction where we can experience our lives with more clarity and ease of heart - and resulting in better decision-making and flow through life.

This book contains no step-by-step instructions or guides, meaning that there are no techniques for you to learn or manage in order for you to "get there" - instead it points us to the truth of the fact that we already possess all we need in order to live a more fulfilling life, and that we don't need to change in order to feel good and loved.

What this book is pointing toward has for ever changed my life and how I perceive it - and I hope that you will see this for yourself too.

You have to read it twice.
it isn't easy. because were so conditioned out of this kind of thinking. But nevertheless, this is how the world works. We just don't tap into it. But the revealing of the truth in this book is profound. I have many great examples of experiences of being touched by it. The book shifted the way I thought on a number of occasions and I'm very grateful for that. it was mind bending as well. The next few days were great and I noticed an improvement in my peace of mind and heart. It was refreshing.

I will come back to the book again.
and to help deeply understand it, there are many great videos and audios he recommends by other authors.

I have read/am reading a number of book on this subject. This book is presented in a business-book format, organised and easily accessible, as opposed to boring. It has bullet points and chapter summaries which makes for a quicker read and more convenient to pick up/revise the main points.

I think the author's greatest strength is his use of analogies to explain a point. The subject of inside-out living is somewhat vague and woolly and difficult to understand if one is used to conventional analysis and thinking. I think the author does a reasonable job of explaining the concepts through his use of stories, quotes and metaphors.

I actually started this book a few years ago after a coach recommended it to me during some therapeutic coaching I was having.

I went to one of Michael’s courses online and really enjoyed it.

Having had a bit of a blip recently I decided to revisit this book. And honestly, again it just makes sense to me.

For one, he isn’t teaching me anything - that’s the point. He discusses his own journey and relates his own search for teachings and interactions with others as examples, he went on that journey too. This is more a reminder, and I really needed it. You already have well-being, happiness and calm within you and looking outside for it from material objects or success or whatever it may be doesn’t hold the answer.

The crux of this is about feeling our thoughts. There is one example about a comedian thinking he needed confidence and charisma for his show but it was a big show, and the first of a tour. But really, it was his thoughts that were standing in the way of his natural charisma and confidence. The book doesn’t tell you how to magically stop feeling your thoughts but it just gently reminds you and keeps reiterating what it is about how to return to Grace. I’m not religious but I attribute that feeling as being more of a state of ease and being more attuned to the universe and a more natural state. I get that’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I think it can be applied however you want really.

In his course I said I wanted to feel flow and ease throughout life and after the sessions I honestly felt that, it’s an internal thing and you just have to return to it. I don’t think that part is hard but to me not getting carried away by thoughts is hard to maintain!
I reference his analogy of the calm river a lot and feel like it’s been invaluable to me as a reference point in my own life. This book enabled me to remember those learnings and I found it an enjoyable read.

At any rate, I personally really enjoy Michael’s writing, courses, resources and podcast. He is also lovely to work with and just a very grounded person, and just listening to him talk has a calming effect on me!

Ogromnie polecam!

Sad to say, I really didn't enjoy this and have returned the audible book. There is supposed to be a ground-breaking revelation here but sadly I didn't read anything I didn't already know. Perhaps it was just not for me but the revelation is really just to make sure you listen to your own inner voice before being influenced by external factors and, since I already feel I do that, I don't need the book to tell me!

I listened to it as an audiobook, so maybe a slower read would have had another effect. The book makes a good point, namely that everything in life is about how we THINK about it, and thus if we change the way we think, we can change our experience.

But I was still left with several questions about the actual implementation, because it's not that simple to change the way you think, and so I think that the idea is good, but I'm missing some extra guidance on how to actually do it, if you're one of those that have a hard time letting go of certain thoughts.

Well written. Michael explains in a variety of ways, how realizing that you can only enjoy true happiness from an inside out perspective and not from looking outside of yourself for happiness. Once you really grasp this, everything about your life and relationships, will change.

I thought this book was reasonably good but not great. It is quite a short read which I appreciated. The book could do with editing as some of the writing is not very clear and not very well written.
The title is a bit clickbaity. I did not understand the 'only thing' concept in terms of its principles "Our experience of life is created from the inside out via the principles Mind, Consciousness and Thought. We're living in the feeling of our thinking, not the feeling of the world". I did not understand his definition of mind, consciousness and thought when I read them. Part of the book was quite mystical and religious in nature. I did not think that that helped.
There are some good points made throughout the book. For example, recognising that he does not have control over all the things that happens to him, the author says that makes him free to appreciate his life when things are going his way and to handle them with grace when they're not.

I bumped into an old friend at a workshop recently and was gifted this book by that friend. It was someone I used to study the 3principles alongside and I am very familiar with this school of thought and the leaders in the field.
But over the years I have gotten skeptical. I don't take the principles as Truth with a capital T, but as one method of seeing the world, in an infinite group of possibilities.
I was hesitant to get back into the 3Ps because it's not what I believe to be 'True' anymore and I often find the vague/ethereal way people discuss it to be didactic and frankly a little hokey.
But this book reopened my eyes, it offers life coaching without all the 1970s cult-leader style writing of Syd Banks. It doesn't focus so much on the names/history/personalities of the founders but on the implications in simple terms of how our thoughts ripple into our lives.
Worth a read.

Don't get me wrong. I loved the concept of this book. But this book is a tertiary source of information that it provides.

The Hindu text "Bhagwat Geeta" is the original source where Krishna talks about mind, conscious and thought. The author of this book talks about the same information without being aware of the original source. I find that amusing, this book being extremely close to the original source without ever giving credit.

I'm not biased but translations and cultural differences makes a text interpretation different for different readers. I read Bhagavad Geeta in its original tongue and being a part of same culture gives me authority to defend it's significance.

This book is awful, unless you are a fan of New Age pablum. The definitions of things like "mind" and "thought" in this book are simple-minded and vague. Readers would be better served by reading Marcus Aurelius or similar Stoic writers who give far more concrete advice on how to play the inner mind game. This book is a poorly written manifesto on solipsism.

I usually don't give high ratings to books like this, but there's some real substance in it.
It's basically cognitive therapy with air of spirituality, nothing more, nothing less. Which is a good thing.

To spiritual, psychological, emotional and other seekers, this is uplifting book that should leave a reader feel at least a bit better, possibly even take something from it.

This book makes bold promises and delivers. It's not like I've never heard it before (our thoughts create our reality), but Neill expresses it in a way that makes the truth of it undeniable.

Stands up to multiple readings.

I bought this book in advance of a 3 day course that I will go on next week called "Quality of Mind."

This book is deeply thought-provoking & challenging in parts due to its more spiritual nature. That said, in many ways it is also logical, thus I strongly recommend this book to anyone wanting to get to a place of more peace & better understanding about themselves and how there mind works.

I had a few moments of realisation such as the clarity that I now have that the emotions & feelings that I have are actually triggered by thoughts, it is not external situations causing/impacting my mind.

Also another key realisation for me personally reading this book was "oh, that mental health challenge I had 18 months ago was the amalgamation of a load of negative self talk and thoughts that I was telling myself. - No one had told me directly any of what I was thinking!" In essence I had moved by mind from its natural state of healthy well-being to a stress burnout based on fear, low self worth and negative self talk i.e my own thoughts.

To give some extra context, some key reflective quotes from the book for include:

"We don't create abundance. Abundance is always present, we create limitations."

"We need to stop asking 'what is true about me' and start asking 'what is true about human beings in general'."

I think anyone that is open-minded to learn & grow will enjoy this book.
