"There are only two types of people: mystics and mistakes," says Sadhguru, leaving readers in no doubt of the category to which they belong!
That sounds damning. But mistakes can thankfully be rectified. And that's the hope this book holds out to seekers. It reminds us that each one of us can make the journey — from confusion to clarity, from error to enlightenment, from self-deception to self-discovery — if only we choose.
Sadhguru is a yogi, mystic and visionary. Named one of India's 50 most influential people, Sadhguru's work has touched the lives of millions worldwide through his transformational programs. Sadhguru has a unique ability to make the ancient yogic sciences relevant to contemporary minds. His approach does not ascribe to any belief system but offers methods for self-transformation that are both proven and powerful.
An internationally renowned speaker and author of the New York Times Bestseller Inner Engineering, A Yogi's Guide to Joy, Sadhguru has been an influential voice at major global forums including the United Nations and the World Economic Forum, addressing issues as diverse as socioeconomic development, leadership and spirituality. He has also been invited to speak at leading educational institutions, including Oxford, London Business School, IMD, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Wharton and MIT. In February 2017, Sadhguru was the recipient of the Padma Vibhushan Award by the Government of India, the highest annual civilian award, accorded for exceptional and distinguished service.
Dedicated to the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of humanity and gifted with utter clarity of perception, Sadhguru possesses a perspective on life that never fails to intrigue, challenge and surprise all those he encounters. Sadhguru established Isha Foundation, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization operating in more than 300 centers and supported by over 11 million volunteers worldwide. Through powerful yoga programs for inner transformation and inspiring social outreach initiatives, Isha Foundation has created a massive movement dedicated to addressing all aspects of human wellbeing.
Sadhguru has also initiated several projects for social revitalization, education and the environment through which millions of people have been given the means to overcome poverty, improve their quality of life and achieve community-based, sustainable development.
In the fall of 2017, Sadhguru initiated Rally For Rivers, a nationwide campaign aiming to implement sustainable and long-term policy changes to revitalize India's severely depleted rivers, which found great support among India's people and leadership. With over 162 Million individuals pledging their support, Rally for Rivers is the largest ecological movement in the world to date. In the fall of 2019, Sadhguru launched Cauvery Calling, a uniquely modelled project that focuses on enhancing farmer wealth while simultaneously impacting river flow and riverine ecosystems. It will enable farmers in the Cauvery basin spanning Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, to plant 2.42 billion trees.
In the United States, Isha Foundation is headquartered at the Isha Institute of Inner-sciences in the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee, Isha Institute is established as infrastructure for raising human consciousness and offers a variety of programs that provide methods for anyone to explore and experience the yogic science in its full depth.
The book is fashioned in a mode of existential question & answers by Sadhguru, like one of the Osho books, interspersed with light jokes (south Indian characters :-p), from life, death & path of nirvana to adiyoga Shiva & Linga bhairavi, consecrated by the author in his Isha center in Tamil Nadu. I was interested in reading this to know opinions & knowledge of Sadguru on the vedic path too as he expounds. This, I compare with the various other authors I read on the subject, especially Osho. Because, I am an eternal seeker of unknown & unexplained trying to understand whatever little of the mystery, be it Tantra, Mantra , Yantra, yoga or vipassana. I love all things occult. The book I received as one of the many bunch of books as gift from my dear sister for my upcoming birthday this month & I relish it. 03 stars for this one👍

2. Mystic:occult = science:technology. Backing up your mind with energy is occult. Occult could be used as a stepping stone to spiritual process because in many ways it is the final step of physicality.
3. Intuition is not a different dimension of perception. It cannot work without data.
5. Consecration:= transform physical into non-physical
This is my first Sadhguru book. I’m a familiar with him through a bit of YouTube exposure. A lot of what he says in this book is what Osho says and I’m familiar with Osho. Which ever one you prefer is up to you. I think that Sadhguru has a stronger Indian audience so a lot of questions are about Hinduism and other Indian religion or philosophy. Osho had a stronger western audience with more western questions such as psychology and suppression. Both say the same thing, drop logic, and meditation is the way. Sadhguru is valuable because he is alive while Osho is not. They shouldn’t be compared as who is better or more enlightened. I’m not saying one is better than the other. This is likely a good first book to read by the author and I will definitely read more of his books.
The book appears to be transcripts from Sadhguru's talks. The content is worthwhile, especially if you are a person who is concerned that reading a "spiritual" book might get on with nonsense or airy fairy ideas. He acknowledges that spiritual idiots (his words, not mine) are one of the largest deterrents for people seeking any sort of personal development.
A lot of paragraphs begin with "So," or "See," because the text is a transcript of his speech. I didn't find it irritating. I thought when I bought the book I was getting something Sadhguru had wrote himself. Regardless, the content is worth the read.
This book is in the form of questions and answers. In it Sadguru ,a renowned mystic and visionary of India, has explained the meaning and nature of mystic, mysticism and spirituality in a simple and rational way. As ever he is sharp, Witty and humorous. I enjoyed thoroughly reading this book.
Awesome book. Sadhguru has profound experience and ability to explain complex matters with great simplicity. The book is in Q&A format, and he replied all of questions in easier way for modern people and beginners. I had great insights and willing to read again.
Another great read. A little more esoteric and dense than the other books of Sadhguru's that I've read...probably the subject matter being mystical, so it took a bit longer to get through. But I enjoyed it and felt the depth of some things, while some went fully over my head (understandably).
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's written in form of an interview where Sadhguru answers questions which he's asked. I especially enjoy his "once there was" parts where he tells - often funny - short stories and his humor. The book is easy to read although Sadhguru also talks about quite complex and abstract topics and gave me a lot of new points of view and ideas. I'm already looking forward to reading more of his books.
