Jayant Vishnu Narlikar was an Indian astrophysicist and emeritus professor at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA). His research was on alternative cosmology. Narlikar was also an author who wrote textbooks on cosmology, popular science books, and science fiction novels and short stories.

Shake-up India shakes my thoughts a lot. It will shake thoughts of every Indian especially Politician, Academician, Researcher and Scientist. This book is the collection of Essays written in the Times of India Column. Although Jayant Narlikar is a well good Scientist, he wrote about the basic problems India facing. His main worry about India's poor status of Basic Science Research and he gave good solutions. Also he wrote about people's ignorance on superstitions and Astrology. I am wonder by his quotes from various books and stories from myth and old days.
