Kylie Washington’s business is failing and there isn’t much she can do about it. Short of living in her car and eating scraps for the rest of her life she has to take the Hunter’s offer. She has her father to think of, he made the paper what it was. Curtis has loved Kylie his entire life—but she loves Daniel. Stepping back from the beauty has been the hardest thing he’s ever done. But he will help her and her father even if he has to beat her butt to make it happen. But someone else wants the Washington building too. There is something inside that he wants bad enough to kill for—even his own father. Vaughan isn’t going to take ‘no’ for an answer and if Kylie does say it he had already decided to kill her and take it anyway. Kylie and Curtis fight each other at every turn. When one says ‘no’ the other says ‘yes’. That is until Vaughan LaMancusa steps into the picture and they work together to keep their families safe. But will it be enough? Will they live happily ever after?

ahhh! I was glad this book didn't have Curtis and kylie fighting half the book, it was more of an insta love or a I loved you forever. Curtis was a bit hard on her at first but to his defense he thought she was still in love with his brother. When they finally got together and didn't fight they were cute, he wanted to keep her safe. Loved the plot and secrets didn't like that kylie lost her dad, I hope the next book someone doesn't lose a parent like the last two books.
What a great storyline! 'Curtis' is book two in Kathi S. Barton's "The Hunter" series. If you've followed along so far, then you know Annemarie, the mother of these four men, has a game plan she's put into place as a matchmaker for her sons. Trust me, it hasn't been an easy road for any of them so far. This time it's the second oldest son Curtis whose world gets turned upside down. He's loved the neighbor girl, Kylie since he was ten years old. Unfortunately, she loved Daniel. So, being the type of person he was, Curtis stepped aside so Kylie would be happy. Time passes as they all grow up and Kylie has been living in California. She's recently come home to help her father who owned the local newspaper and needed help with it. Turns out Mr. Washington needed substantially more help than even Kylie knew. It's a twisted game of players where one tries to make the other jealous all while there's a mystery to be solved concerning bank robberies, murders, hidden money, and people in protective custody. I can hardly see what Ms. Hunter has planned for Jesse next.
This is about kylie who was in love with Curtis brother Daniel , But instead of Daniel loving her , Curtis is the one that fell in love with kylie .. Kylie is newspaper reporter doing some ad's for the Hunters .. Kathi Barton you bring the laughter and the mystery and adventure in your books .. Thank you so much Can't wait to read the next one ...
I liked this book better then book 1 and enjoyed it more. While our main characters still are not "a love at first sight " couple, they are not beating each other up. However, they did fight a lot in the beginning as there was a long standing crush issue and being the better man by backing off. The Hunter family is defiantly something else, they have no problem manipulating each other if they think it is for the benefit of that person. Kylie was a cute character, life long friend of the family who secretly loved one brother but they all knew about it. She protects the ones she loves and has a fiery temper. Curtis is supposed to be the shy brother, but sparks fly when he and Kylie meet up and you can just feel the sizzle in the air. He has always loved her but will back off if his brother is interested and that is just not sitting well with him. I loved the storyline, the mysterious twist Ms. Barton puts into play was was very intriguing. As the plot unfolds you find yourself captivated by the words on the page and eagerly awaiting the next page in the story. With the firsts book, I thought the Hunters were born into money but in this one it seems they worked hard to get where they were. Each story gives you a better understanding of the other brothers, their personalities are expounded upon and the start to become more real as characters and not just another name in the book. I look forward to seeing where this author is going with this series and can't wait to start the next book in the series. I was given and ARC for an honest review
Another great book from Kathi. Although I shouldn't be surprised anymore =)
Kylie Washington grew up with the Hunters. She's been in love with Daniel Hunter for as long as she can remember. Now that she's back and helping her father's newspaper company she's determined to show Daniel she's a mature beautiful woman. But she never expected the feelings Curtis Hunter brings out, and can't decide if she should kiss him or hit him.
**"I love you Kylie Jean Washington. I have loved you with all my heart and no other woman will every be able to fill me with such happiness like you do."**
Curtis Hunter has been suckered into the meeting with Kylie Washington. All he remembers about the little girl is the one who looked at Daniel like he hung the moon. What he didn't expect was this stunningly beautiful woman. But he knows he can't have her, she's in love with his brother. Even if he's been in love with her for as long as he's known her.
This is another book that had me tearing up, laughing, and wanting to "brain" these characters. I can't wait to watch Daniel and Jesse fall in love <3
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
This review is from: Curtis (The Hunter Series) (Kindle Edition) The first part of the book all I could think of was how childish both Curtis and Kylie were being. Some of it did cause me to chuckle out loud but, wow, baby!!! The underlying story line of the Washington building and the bank robbery was really, in my opinion, a great part of this book. I think we get the background of this brought out so much more than in some of the other stories. The second half of the book we start to see Curtis and Kylie coming together, uniting and becoming one. Kathi always has a twist, something you don't expect to happen and when it does, it is sad and poignant. Overall, Curtis becomes a likeable person and the family moves forward another step.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Curtice works for his family’s company. He has known and loved Kylie all his life, but she has always loved his brother Daniel. They meet again after ten years, so The Hunter Corp. can buy her father’s failing newspaper business. They immediately draw sparks off each other. This continues until a threat to both their families cause them to fight as one. Come along as see if these two strong people can come together and make a future for themselves. I really loved this book. Curtis
This was a very enjoyable book. I could not stop reading it once I started and finished in a few hours.
It moved along at a good pace from the beginning to end. Had loveable characters that you want to see succeed no matter what and had a believable world.
Kathi S. Barton is an extremely talented author and I look forward to reading more of her works.
