I believe that the Hindenburg by Marc Tyler Nobleman is all about action and personally that’s the type of genre that I like. Plus did you know that the Hindenburg is the size of two football fields combined? This book takes place in Lakehurst, New Jersey. The Hindenburg was this large dirigible that flew passengers all over the world. I chose this book because I personally really enjoy learning about history. It caught on fire is because it was hard to land in a bad thunderstorm.

I really want to learn more about how and why it went down and crashed, in the book it said there was such a faint noise you could hardly even hear it. I was also surprised how the Hindenburg went down because nobody knows exactly the full truth of how it went down. Some people know how it went down but very little only know the truth. One thing that I found interesting was the explosion of the Hindenburg, because it blew up just from a little fire, in the book it said that it had spread so fast just for a little fire.

I would give this book a ⅘ stars. I gave it a ⅘ stars because the book doesn’t go into enough detail and doesn’t tell you any helpful information about the Hindenburg. I think that people who like history and action type books would like this book. But then there are people who only like fantasy and fiction books would really not like this book just for those reasons. These are all of my reasons to support the Hindenburg and tell more people about especially the people who like action books. So this is why I like history because it’s fun to learn about the past.

The creation, glory days, and disastrous end of the world’s most famous dirigible, the Hindenburg, are described in brief but interesting detail in this book from the “We the People” series. Black and white photos accompany clear text filled with intriguing bits of information about the airship (as long as 3 football fields, it offered tiny 5’ by 6 1/4’ cabins for the $720 round-trip fare). A table of contents, glossary, index, and “Did You Know?” section, along with lists of important people, dates, and additional sources, all aid and enourage research. Initial interest may be slight due to students’ lack of familiarity with the topic, but once word gets out about the Hindenburg’s fiery demise this should see steady circulation.
