I'm reading a series of books about the world's religions for background on a book I'm writing. Any book about religions from prehistoric times up through the present is going to be a LOT to take in, and this one sure is. I've studied religions in the past, having graduated from Northwest Christian College in 1978, so this is more of a brushing up than an introduction for me. I found this one enlightening as well as challenging. SO many different religions/belief systems available around the world and SO many of the adherents of each of them believe theirs is the one, true way to salvation. Frustrating that so many religious believers throughout history, up through today, use violence and war to defend their beliefs and attack those with different beliefs. So much for the Golden Rule, eh?
