Much stronger emphasis than I expected in the arena of mental health and healing from the potentially adverse effects of being raised in a high-demand religious environment. Somewhat clinical, but very educational and informative.
Advice is a little scattered (but acceptable), but the MOST interesting part is the author’s own lived experience. e.g., when the author attended Calvary Chapel, did she wear jeans and go barefoot?
She needs to open the book with her biography and supporting educational credentials. i.e., why should I take her suggestions before she establishes her credibility?
