I love sci-fi romance, especially aliens needing earth females, and mmf so this was a good read for me. It was heavier on the mm side then the mmf side and sex scenes looked like they were added afterwards or something. The romance between them evolved too quickly, especially after such a bad start and it wasn't believable that heroes really cared about her while they were "being amused" constantly by her pain and anger. The author kept telling us that they cared too much but didn't show it through their acts. I liked that at the end, heroine was not a doormat and stood strong for what she believed in even if she fell for them too quickly. I would have liked to read the part that she talked in behalf of Helans. I guess the book suffered from its small size in most places like this one.
first in series book where an alien planet has depleted their female child bearing population so the aliens must find a compatible mate population on another planet. Earth is their last hope so when it's found that the females are compatible they jump at the chance to return to their home planet with females and breed them to re-populate their world.
Earth isn't given much of a choice when aliens appear and let the world leaders know they have the technology to cure many of Earth's diseases and illnesses and will provide the security force for the planet from other aliens who are planning to invade and destroy earth. The price for their service and technology is to let them choose from the available female population to select mates. If that's not enough the aliens mate with each other and only include a female for reproductive service need.
First in book series that features some juicy mm, mmf, and mf adult content action that compliments the plot. The central character Jacy, D'Arik, and Varin were VERY compatible and I could see this type of thing actually being a possibility if Earth were to be invaded. And hoping too. :D Loved loved loved the fact that while the aliens needed to find mates they weren't happy for the reasons they had to do it. That humanization of their personalities along with Jacy trying to escape her fate probably is the main reason I will be a fan of this series. The storyline could have been better and there were parts that were weak but as a first book I see more positives than negatives.
As to the adult content. Anyone who reads this book has to be comfortable with gay erotica scenes as there are multiple scenes between Varin and D'Arik that will push your comfort level otherwise if you're not a fan. For those of you who are fans of mmf and mm action - this new to me author is able to incorporate the man love in a natural and loving way which isn't diminished when Jacy is added to the mix in the menage scenes.
The issues I had were more from the standpoint that D'Arik as a king drove me crazy. Thank goodness he had Varin at his side or I think his planet would have gotten rid of him in some way. And yes, I won't go into this any further as it would give away potential spoilers which I don't do. I'd be curious to know if anyone else feels this way after reading this book.
Overall a good book in the sci fi futuristic genre that are complimented by awesome adult content scenes. The sci fi slant does have a fantasy feel but works. Promising series for sure.
For this genre and publisher (Siren) this was actually a good read. I liked it. I like that it was MMF, not just MFM. It was nice to see the bond between Varin and D'Arik and how they added Jacy to their family. The only issue I had was that it felt a bit more in favor of Varin & Jody as they shared more scenes and he seemed to have felt the mating-bond with her first. I wish there was a bit more connection shown with her and D'Arik as it was with him and Varin. It made the Ménage seem a tiny bit off balance, IMO. But he is the ruler and very busy, so it's understandable, I suppose.
An interesting mix between science fiction and romance. The Helans are a proud and accomplished species who due to past attempts to breed the perfect warrior are now in a fix. Only men are now born and if they don't find another compatible species to have children with they will die out. Of course they find earth, but human females are not exactly keen to co-operate.
Plenty of humour, feisty women, and an underground rebellion as well as decidedly steamy bedroom scenes. a very successful mix of things set on the background of an orbiting spacecraft.
Finished, short read but boring. Concept of aliens mtes needing a female was a bit of a twist however poorly written. The writer did not have a wide vocabulary which reduced every scene, especially the love acts to a ritual which was over in a paragragh. Repeated stock phrases throughou. I'm being generous in giving 2 stars.
What a great book I can’t believe it took me this long to read it .This species of people have a mate bond and they come as a duo I’ve noticed only one other book in this series maybe she will write more
