Finding a man has never been a problem for Toi Underwood. Finding a man who understands and respects her devotion to her career, lack of availability, and need for her me time is another story. Toi is so career driven that when she meets a man she either intimidates him or she pisses him off. When Toi meets Carlton Thomas she begins to think that her prayers have been answered. Not only is Carlton attractive, he’s hardworking and understands her busy lifestyle. He’s patient and respects that Toi can’t be readily available to him due to other commitments. After all, he has his own extracurricular activities. Toi thinks she has met her match until she discovers that one of Carlton’s extracurricular activities, just so happens to be another woman—his wife, Lisa. Toi knows in her heart that walking away is the best option, but sometimes the right thing to do is also the hardest, especially when emotions and feelings have gotten involved. Toi’s mantra becomes, It is…what it is. Toi’s not looking for a ring and currently she could care less about being anyone’s wifey. To be honest she could care less about Lisa. It’s obvious that she’s doing something wrong that would make her man have to look elsewhere. Right? And what Lisa doesn’t know can’t hurt her. As long as everyone is happy, what could possibly go wrong? For six years Lisa waited anxiously for Carlton to propose. Now, two years later, she has the ring and the papers. Granted, marriage hasn’t been what she expected, but she’s determined to make the best out of it. When she discovers Carlton has not only been playing the field but that he and Toi refuse to end their affair, Lisa becomes a woman on a mission. Lisa throws all logic and reasoning out the window and decides it’s time to teach some unforgettable lessons. Toi quickly learns that ending her affair with Carlton is not only the right thing to do but could possibly save her life. However, some awakenings come a little too late. Toi will see that when the right woman gets fed up she can truly be Havoc on a Home Wrecker.
Mz Robinson is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. As a child, writing poetry became one of her many hobbies. It wasn't until much later in life, that she reconnected with her love for writing and began to pen short stories. After falling in love with the characters she created, she turned one of her short stories, into her debut novel: What We Won't Do For Love.
One word comes to mind to describe the ending of this book… “WOW!!!” I give this book a 5 out of 5 Star review. This is the 2nd novel that I have read from this author and I must say that I am more pleased with this read. The author took more time with the storyline with this one. The pace of the book was just right for me. The storyline developed timely in my opinion. I enjoyed the way she developed the characters and the surprising ending and twists in the plot left me at place where I could see this one on the big screen. This book is a classic example of how Karma will find you no matter how much you think you have covered your tracks. Talk about getting caught up in entanglements! This novel deals with the power of love and that how a person would do whatever and ignore whatever else to have love; if you get a person in a trifling manner then how you will ultimately lose them will be just as trifling; and the fact that if you love someone you will go through desperate measures at times to keep that person.
This novel is written primarily through the eyes of two women who happen to be in love with the same man. One being his wife and the other woman falling in love with him by accident or may I say unintentionally…at first. These two women, once the story gets going well, become enemies, which neither wants to relinquish a man that it appears that neither have claims to. There are two other characters in this story that play a significant role in this 3-person circle of drama, which play on how the novel concludes. The ending will shock you. The clues dropped along the way in the book will have you scratching your head at the end. The title of this novel is spot on! I recommend reading this novel…this was a good read in my opinion!
Mz. Robinson truly did her thing with "Havoc on a Homewrecker". I was hooked from the first page and stayed hooked throughout the book. Every character introduced in the book was a key element to the entire storyline. There were times when I hated Toi and Lisa and there were other times when I felt for them and understood their emotions and actions. Carlton and his nonchalant attitude about the drama that he was creating made me want to throw my damn tablet at times. I love when an author can make me experience a bunch of different emotions about the characters while reading a book. There were twists at every turn and I found myself being suspicious of everyone and their actions. Although I figured some elements of the ending out beforehand I was still blown away by the final result. The moment when I though I had it all figured out Mz Robinson hit me with another BANG!!!! I honestly hated for the book to end and i look forward to getting the authors' entire collection. A must read......
Wow! Havoc on a Home Wrecker.... the title alone makes you want to just dive head first into the book and see what its about, and I did just that. This was actually my first time reading from Mz.Robinson and it looks like i picked a great book to start out with!
Toi Underwood is a woman who has learned from her past mistakes and so to further prevent anything that happened to her in her past she finds a way to keep herself occupied with her work. She doesn’t have a problem with getting the attention of men, but when she does get it they often find her to be intimidating. So Toi just continues to work hard and not allow men to take over her brain and distract her. That is until she meets the man of her dreams Carlton, who changes her whole perception on working hard and not having any fun. Carlton on the other hand is a married man whose marriage is facing many challenges through out the story. The challenges he faces cause him to go outside his marriage where he runs into Toi.
There’s so much that could be said about this book, but then that would be giving away way too much. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The book pulls you in at page one and leaves your mouth hanging wide open at the last few pages. The book is very fast paced and very well written. I finished the book rather quickly. The drama in this book was crazy, it was just so much going on both Toi and Carltons end. Parts of these book had me on edge and I felt like I wasn’t reading fast enough to see what was going to happen. Its always go to remember that everything isn’t always what it seems and there is something called Karma and when it comes it comes hard!
The book left me speechless and with my mouth wide open, what i thought wasn’t it at all this book will SHOCK the heck out of you!! If you are looking for a great book that’s a stand alone, and full of so much drama, lies, craziness then this would be the book for you! i enjoyed it and I am sure you will also! Great job Mz. Robinson you have a new fan!
Unlucky in love, Toi Underwood has finally found Mr. Right. He’s tall, dark, handsome and…married. She didn’t know he was married when she got involved with him but with emotions high, it’s a little too late for coulda, woulda, shoulda. Lisa, Mr. Right’s wife, knows of her husband’s indiscretions but she’s not ready to let her husband go so easily. Instead, it’s time for a little havoc on a home wrecker.
Mz. Robinson’s “Havoc on a Homewrecker” is the story of two tenacious women, told in alternating chapters, allowing readers to walk in each character’s shoes. First-person alternating narrative doesn’t always work. For Mz. Robinson, it was a choice that paid off. As each woman tells her side of the story, readers are privy to their thoughts for a better understanding of their actions. There was a good balance of drama and action. I appreciate the author’s realistic approach to her characters and story. There were no over the top antics, characters living beyond their means or an explosion of name brands. Just a well-written, well-paced story of actions and consequences. I also very much appreciate that it was one, complete book and I hope the author leaves it as such.
This is my first read by Mz. Robinson. Quick, easy, enjoyable, “Havoc on a Homewrecker” is a book I’d recommend. I’d like to try more of this author’s work.
Mz. Robinson is back! Toi is a woman who has had her heartbroken in the past by the guy she was in love with. It takes time, but she finds love in a married man, Carlton. She is content playing the side role for as long as she can. However, Carlton's wife Lisa is not ready to give up her husband without a fight. To what extent will this women go for to fight for their man?
Once again Mz. Robinson brought the drama and she did not disappoint either. I completed this book within 24 hours of starting it. There were quite a few twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. Mz. Robinson told a very good story that is sure to keep your attention from beginning to end.
I'm at a lost for words! Mz. Robinson, you have fire drizzling from your pen!! Havoc on a Homewrecker is undoubtedly a TOP SELLER!! The characters came to life and brought their drama through my door. I liked them, then I hated them. I didn't know whether I wanted to fight the men or the women but I knew I wanted somebody!! Your ability to take the story in one direction, then bring it back around and end up somewhere I never expected is remarkable. Keep 'em comin'! ~BOSS LADI
Oh I just love Mz. Robinson and her writing. She is a beast with a pen!! This book has a shocking ending. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, she hits me with a BOOM!!! Havoc on a Home Wrecker is a must read and 5 stars at it's best!! If you haven't read this book, then you are really missing out. Stop sleeping and go out and get it!!! Can't wait for her next set of books!
After getting so many recommendations on this book from members of The Nook Readers Group, I was excited to read it. I was not disappointed at all. The author did a great job on this book. I have added Mz. Robinson to my favorite authors list. #teamNook #Nook Readers
It was easy to drop five stars on this. In this tale of deception, dishonesty, and deceit, a couple on the brink of marital ruin find themselves facing drama more crippling than ANYTHING they were prepared to handle. As Lisa quickly learns, putting your hands on your husband in anger is a BAD move. Carlton is a man about the violence, choosing to restrain her vs whipping her butt. However, her false police report and his resulting night in jail set in motion a series of events Lisa never saw coming. Toi, beautiful and successful, wasn't SEEKING to be a homewrecker. Her chance encounter with a man she'd already been familiar with from work set in motion a series of events she didn't expect. Three lives intersected with a small child at the center of it all...sex is clouding minds, and everyone is trying to find out if love is enough. It would be simple, EXCEPT there are mysterious events occurring and outside players, a twist with brand new flavor. Karma definitely finds her way around in this illustration of "ALL is fair in love and war."
This was a pretty steady read. The story kept me interested but I wouldn't say it was a page turner. I just disliked a lot of things about these characters. Toi, to be so smart she was just so dumb at times. Every time I thought she came to her senses she just let Carlton right back in. Lisa was a definite nutcase, but she kept this story interesting with her shenanigans. Carlton, what can I say, he seemed like a nice enough guy, buy he was a dirty rotten cheater nonetheless. After a while I did see the ending coming. Gabe was just too vindictive and way too involved in Carlton's life. This book was an ok read for me, but probably my least favorite from this author.
The story held my interest and had me wanting to know what the hell was going on towards the last quarter of the book. Just when you thought you knew what and who and were about to find out why, another twist came that made you rethink things. I didn't expect the ending and that's what made me boost the rating up to a 4. I was surprised with Carlton's behavior and really wanted Toi to do better cause she knew better. But in the end she couldn't even be mad at what happened because her actions didn't warrant a rainbow and butterfly ending.
This story started off really good..I was really indulging in the relationship that was starting between Carlton and Toi...I was thinking Lisa was gonna be crazy...but of course the story had a twist...I was definitely surprised...and turned off...Like, I could not even look at Carlton character as my fav anymore lol...but it was a nice read...could not give it 5 star because i did at times find myself skipping sections to get to the next...
Entertaining, Drama filled with an ending that made me pour myself a drink!! A few chapters before the ending I had it figured out ... although I was hoping I was wrong. This is the only reason for a 4 star rating vs. 5. I was gifted the "Love , Lies and Lust" series and now after reading this I am officially a Mz. Robinson fan.
This is my 1st read by Mz. Robinson but it definitely won’t be the last. Although, half way through I semi-figured out what was going on, this book was amazing… I could not put this one down. 3.5 Stars!!!
Omg!! Is all I can say right now.....this book was good for sure and the ending really took me by suprise. I enjoyed this book alot. It started off kind of slow but once it started rolling it was on!!
omg I was not expecting it to end like that..toi first off should of stay awaythe minute Carlton told her he wad married and Lisa makes me wonder if she knew that hubby was on the DL overall it was a good book
This book is full of surprises and it will leave you questioning the agendas of all of the characters- Toi, Lisa and Carlton. the end will leave your jaw hanging. You won't believe the ending. It goes to show you that the questions left unasked have a way of hurting the most
This book was okay it was kind of slow and drawn out, but the way things turned out was mind blowing. It was a different story line that I haven't read before, I'm grateful for that!
I just finished this book. I predicted the plot ending towards the end of the book. Karma can be deadly and painful. Loved this book and all the other books written by this author.
