Victoria James is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance.

She is a hopeless romantic who is living her dream, penning happily-ever-after's for her characters in between managing kids and the family business. Writing on a laptop in the middle of the country in a rambling old Victorian house would be ideal, but she's quite content living in suburbia with her husband, their two young children, and very bad cat.

I am a little shocked at all the five star reviews for this book. It wasn't a bad book but nowhere near a five star read.

The story is a sweet little Hallmarky Christmas romance between a social worker heroine and the man she tracks down to adopt his deceased sister's baby girl. I like the premise and the first half of the book worked well for me as she tracked him down to his cabin in the woods and tried to get him to adopt the baby so she wouldn't go into foster care. The second half it went downhill as the romance between the two came out of nowhere and got serious way too fast. My other big issue was the little girl, who I have no idea how old she was because we were never told, is just a prop the author brought out occasionally, otherwise she was sleeping or just chilling somewhere. Ummm, yeah babies don't sleep 22 hours a day and they usually want you to interact with them a little.

The author showed promise with some of her story telling but I felt the story was rushed and a bit unrealistic. So, three stars from me :)

4.5 - "Thank you for making me feel special." Stars!

Another absolutely outstanding book, by Victoria James.

Whether set in Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter she always adds just a little magic to her stories to take them to hard-to-put-down levels.

"You completely caught me by surprise."

Ethan is up next, in The Billionaires Christmas Proposal, and if he is half as endearing as Jackson is, it will surely be another stunning seasonal read.

Really enjoyed this sweet, Christmas story. Jackson and Hannah get stormed in together over the holidays and bond over a baby that he’d like to pretend isn’t his problem. Loved Hannah’s tenacity. I think I would have given up long before she did in trying to get through to Jackson. So glad she kept at it, though.

What a wonderful debut book this is by an author who I just recently discovered and inhaled all three of her books these past three days.
Loved this couple who had so much baggage in their childhood years that it determined who they became as adults. The heroine as a foundling ,then foster child with no permanent home to call her own and the hero whose mother died when he was ten and left with an abusive father as his caregiver. His sister, younger than him had ceased to cope and had turned to drugs later on in life.
The couple meets when the heroine goes to the hero's isolated cabin to bring him his niece who is his now dead sister's baby. She wants him to adopt her as that was his sister's wish.
I finished this read with a huge smile on my face .I loved it.This was such a sweet romance with no ott drama, beautiful sensual love scenes that just turned into a wonderful read for me.I also loved the fact that the heroine's favorite romance novel is A KINGDOM OF DREAMS by the great Judith McNaught was mentioned as I loved, loved that book.

I despise books when two people meet, they get along, then instantly out of nowhere their suddenly in love. THEN to top it all off their suddenly this serious couple and are acting like they've known and been together for years. This is what the couple in this book was like.

Then there is this young little girl. I really wanted to get to know her. I say young because we don't get to know her age. In fact we get to know little about her. She was there- in the story- then suddenly she wasn't. I don't' know where she went and it was like until it became stupidly to long that James must have suddenly remembered about why Jackson and Hannah are together and she wrote her back in.

The whole point of this was that Hannah- a social worker tracked down Jackson in order for the child to remain with relatives and not be put into a foster care and yet the child- baby, was hardly in it at all. It was all focused on Hannah's feelings and the two's their growing attraction/relationship. I liked Hannah at first, I mean she was so caring and empathetic and really cared about the best interests of that baby. But then she gets to sidetracked and distracted by Jackson that it seems the baby comes second and her figuring out her feelings for Jackson come first.

It was all to rushed and carelessly planned and put together. I would have enjoyed it if the author had took her time with the characters, implemented the child more and made them a family. Because even though in the end their all together (shocker) it was so focused on just the two adults that I was left pondering how they'd feat as 'parents'. We don't get any insight into how they'd be caring for the child as a family. There are hardly any 'trio' moments. I would have liked not only to see they'd relationship grow but how they'd grow as just that- a proper family.

A little disappointed since a vast majority the ratings have all been high.

Update from October 2014 review (12/7/2015): this is tied to another series and Jackson's business partner and Hannah's friend are the focus of their own book recently released.

I was pleasantly surprised this book was much more than the stereotypical billionaire baby holiday category romance. As I've found with this author's other books, there's always an underlying depth and other (mostly social) message. This one involved the heroine, Hannah, as a social worker and both characters raised in the foster care system. You are emotionally pulled into the story and invested to see these characters have their HEA.

The book is written from both points of view and is a standalone. The characters and storyline were developed by the author at a perfect pace. It's longer than a novella, but shorter than the average full length novel at 184 pages. This book was written in 2012 so I don't think there will be any more books from this world. I'd love to see a book about Jackson's friends from college - Ethan, his business partner; and Nick, his lawyer. Also, Hannah's friend, Allison, would be a great heroine for one of these men.

Great debut novel by Victoria James. Emotional, sweet, heartwarming read with christmas as background. Both Hannah and Jackson are authentic characters with same miserable childhood but different attitude to life. Hannah is a social worker with a heart of gold. Too involved in the cases assigned to her, she sometimes crosses the lines. That's what she does when she took baby Emily to her uncle, Jackson, to convince him to adopt her. Despite what she has been through, she loves Christmas and everything related to it. on the other hand, Jackson is a bit of a Scrooge, retreating every December to his secluded cabin to escape Christmas and the bad memories associated with it.
Jackson has turned his back on his past, changed his name and became a successful businessman.
Their first meeting is stormy. If Jackson is stubborn, he has met his match in our feisty heroine. Hannah is quite determined to rescue baby Emily from the system and rescue Jackson from himself.

I love the holidays and holiday romances, and still with all my incredibly high expectations and positive prejudices this story managed to surpass them all and blow me away! Yes, Victoria James' debut novel was that good and even more!

The Billionaire's Christmas Baby is a wonderfully emotional story, and despite the romance being featured centre stage, I would still say that there are so many other important facets to this story (adoption of a little girl, less than ideal childhoods, problems of the foster care system, estranged family members, warm-hearted quirky neighbours, and I could go on), that I am positive that even those readers, who although like to have some romance in their stories still prefer them to have a fully developed storyline, would be very happy with it.

The chracters had complexity and were nuanced; they were both well developed, three-dimensional and interesting. Jackson was a beautifully scarred and grumpy hero, who although having a warm and generous, protective heart due to him having been hurt and disappointed before is quite the grouchy, standoffish grinch. And Hannah, despite having quite a lot in common with him when it comes to their childhood was his polar opposite: open, trusting, friendly. Optimistic, not only believing in happy endings happening but also in working for making them happen. I loved her sunny disposition, belief in her goals and her passion and dedication. She was an amazing heroine, one to look up to with respect.

Victoria James is not afraid to include the darker parts of life by mentioning foster homes and less than ideal childhoods in a romance story, and although I very much enjoy my romances light and fluffy (since I read them for escapism), thanks to her masterful writing they didn't weigh down the story and didn't add gloom to the romantic ambiance, so have no worries that you'll get a heart-wrenching angsty story. What you'll get is a heart-squeezing, heart-warming, beautifully moving emotional story that will make you appreciate the magic of the holidays and love.

Verdict: This story simply enchanted me. I devoured it in one sitting and even after having reached "The End", its message and its characters stayed with me. Victoria James touched me with her words and made me part of her characters' lives for a couple hours and I thank her for that. I thank her for the wonderful experience that The Billionaire's Christmas Baby was and I will definitely keep my eyes open for more stories from her, and take note Dear Readers, you don't want to miss out on this magical story.

The Billionaire's Christmas Baby is a beautiful romance and an emotional story on several levels. It is the perfect Christmas story that will leave you with a happy sigh, believing in love, goodness and happy endings.

I give The Billionaire's Christmas Baby 5 brightly shining stars!

It's a book about.. well lots of things but to me it was about making your own choices and becoming who you are. Two people with horrid childhoods but took different paths in adulthood. One who honestly and completely believed.. and one, well he didn't.

Hannah Woods had a horrible childhood. Abandoned on the church steps as an infant and grew up in a series of foster homes, some good, some not so good. But she never stopped believing that there was more out there. Never gave up the dream. Maybe she stopped believing that she was going to get the dream but she never stopped believing that others could have it. Focusing her life on becoming a woman who would be there for all those lost children, Hannah became a social worker. And when one day she turned around and found an infant, the child of one of her cases, abandoned on the church steps, Hannah knew this child was going to have a chance. After all baby Emily had some family left, her uncle.

Jackson Pierce had shut himself off from the world. After he finally cut his drug addict sister out of his life, he changed his name and began again. With his college room mate at his side, he climbed to the top and now 10 years later had a succesful, thriving busine. He has a handle on his world but he still doesn't do Christmas well. Consequently he runs every year at Christmas. Hides in his cabin in the woods and waits it out. So when a woman shows up on his doorstep Christmas cookies and baby in hand he is a bit thrown for a loop.

This was a sweet Christmas read. Sort of like a Hallmark Christmas book. Two strangers stranded in a blizzard (in a well appointed cabin) are forced to deal with each other. For Jackson finding out that the baby is his niece made for some very serious soul searching. Most of it was facing his past and remembering that there was good in it as well as bad. Remembering what he had shut out. But Hannah had her share of epiphanies as well. Realizing she too had been refusing to face parts of her past came as something of a surprise.

This was not some deep, dark and brooding story, nope it was a sweet, fast, tearjerker. A most definite made for Christmas read and that's ok because it tells a wonderfully sweet story and shoot why shouldn't you take the time to read and enjoy? To indulge in a sweet romance? I don't see why not. While I wouldn't give it a rounding 5plus star rating. I do give it a definite thumbs up. Take your afternoon off and indulge.

The reason that I decided to read this book is because I heard so much about it. It was all over everyone’s blogs and so I decided that I would give the book a go and read it. I was so glad that I did.

This book is kinda sad, but it does have a great outcome. It deals with a lot of real life situations such as drug abuse, suicide, social workers and foster care. It is about overcoming bad situations in your life and making something of yourself.

I loved Hannah and Jackson’s story. Both had pretty bad childhoods and just really wanted to do something different. Hannah wanted to make a change and help children out that were in the system. She finds out that she has to go through a lot of red tape and there is only so much she can do. So when one of the women that she is assigned to dies and leaves her to find a family member for her daughter, she breaks the rules to do it.

Jackson decided to change his name and forget the things that had happened in the past. He wants nothing to do with his family and doesn’t like the system because they never helped him. He also doesn’t want anything to do with Christmas.

It had to be fate that these two are brought together. There is a lot of healing and trusting that has to go on and it really melted my heart. I enjoyed the story and it made me wish that things like that really happened and that there is always hope. Everyone makes their own destinies and it’s up to them to decide to make something of themselves or to keep the cycle going.

This book gave me that warm fuzzy feeling inside and made me believe in miracles. It was an added bonus that it happened at Christmas time. The author did an amazing job with her characters. She showed both strengths and weaknesses.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great Christmas read and still believes in miracles.

4.5 Star Review:

The Billionare's Christmas Baby by Victoria James was a heart-warming and emotional holiday story filled with sorrow, love and hope that captured my attention from the beginning. I enjoyed the witty dialogue between the two main characters and the pace of the story was smooth and flowed quite nicely without missing a beat.

I really enjoyed the heroine, Hannah Woods and her determination in making sure baby Emily would not fall into the foster care system after her mom, Louisa, abandoned her baby and took her own life. Read More

I loved this book. The story had me laughing, and at times the plot was very touching.

Hannah was a social worker. She found a baby with a note from the mother, and asked her to find the baby's uncle, so he could raise baby Emily. Hannah knew she had to find him, and convince him to take Emily. She was not prepared for the man to slam the door in her face. With the snow coming down Jackson knew he couldn't turn her away. He offered her his guest room. You will have to read this delightful story. Hannah, and Jackson kept me laughing. I'm adding this book to my list of favorite's. This is one of those books that you will love, if you are a romance junkie like me.

"The Billionaire's Christmas Baby" was a very touching, moving holiday romance. The hero, Jackson, is very alpha with a tender, warm center. And the heroine, Hannah, is strong/fiesty. She's the perfect match for him. Toss in an adorable baby and a snow storm and you have the makings of a compelling story.

The Billionaire's Christmas Baby is the perfect Christmas read, warming your heart and making you smile. Hannah Woods is a social worker who occasionally crosses the line, caring to much for her cases. That is what happened with Louise, a new young mother who Hannah had been working with. When she walks out of the Church where she has been holding a meeting one night, she finds a basket with a little pink bundle in it. She automatically knows that it is Emily, Louise's baby, and her heart drops, fearing the worst. Louise asks Hannah, in the note she left attached to Emily, to find her brother, stating that he would raise Emily. That is exactly what Hannah vows to do, even though it requires her to break almost every rule in the book to accomplish. When she finally manages to trace down Louise's brother, he not only has changed his name, he is a very rich business owner who has done everything in his power to distance himself from his family, wanting nothing to do with them. After making the six-hour drive to Jackson Pierce's cabin, and with a blizzard now starting, Hannah makes her way to the door and knocks. When the door opens she finds one of the most handsome men she has ever seen. As soon as she mentions his sister, she gets to the door slammed in her face and is shocked by the rudeness and coldness Jackson Pierce exudes. After a second unsuccessful attempt to talk to him, she angrily makes her way back to the car, and to Emily.

In the meantime, Jackson begins to feel guilty about the way he treated Hannah. He thought she was probably someone looking for money or one of his sister's low-life friends, but on closer observation, she doesn't fit that image at all. He walks out and convinces Hannah to stay, because there is no way he can let her take off in this storm, though convincing her takes quite a bit of effort and he is somewhat shocked when he sees her with a little baby. Hannah's plan to win Jackson over and convince him to adopt his dead sister's baby is foiled when he overhears her talking on the phone and finds out he is Emily's uncle. He tells Hannah he wants nothing to do with the baby, and is very angry. In the meantime, the storm intensifies and Hannah and Jackson are forced to spend several days together. Hannah must convince Jackson that he is what Emily needs, but in the process, she finds out that he might just be what she needs to. Jackson is drawn to Hannah and his cold core begins to melt, showing the good heart that lies beneath. Try as he may to deny it, Jackson is as drawn to Emily as she is to him, though neither want to admit. Yes there is the physical attraction, but there is something else there to. They find themselves unintentionally sharing things with the other that they normally would never have let anyone see, but is this enough to change Jackson's mind, and if he does, what will it take to get Emily, and what obstacles will they have to overcome in the process?

I really enjoyed The Billionaire's Christmas Baby. I loved the story line and the characters. Hannah has been raised in the system, so her heart goes out to the children. Despite what she has been through, she loves Christmas and everything that goes along with it. Jackson on the other hand, is a bit of a Scrooge, retreating every December to his secluded cabin to escape Christmas and the memories that go along with it, but Hannah sees beneath his handsome facade into his true heart, and the glimpses she gets of this man, touch her heart and her soul. Jackson also has feeling stirring within him that he didn't know he had, and finds himself wanting to protect this beautiful woman he is quickly becoming attached to. The romance is hot and so is the chemistry between these two. I enjoyed watching the relationship emerge between these two, as what is deemed as a business relationship, quickly turns into so much more. The Billionaire's Christmas Baby is like a Hallmark movie with a little sizzle on paper and completely warms your heart and makes you smile. If you are looking for a really good contemporary holiday romance, then you should definitely check this book out.

I have been looking for some holiday romances because I am seriously in a Christmas mood this year. Also, I participated in the Ho Ho Ho Readathon, so even more of a reason to read Christmas romances. I was browsing a holiday romance list on Goodreads and came across this one. Unfortunately, The Billionaire's Christmas Baby by Victoria James did not work for me.

The basic premise of The Billionaire's Christmas Baby is that Hannah, a social worker, was working with a single mother of a new born baby girl. The mother ended up committing suicide and left the baby where Hannah would find her. She also left a note asking Hannah to bring the baby to her estranged brother. Hannah is determined to make sure that baby girl has a family, so she hunts down the brother.  She finds out he is actually billionaire, Jackson Pierce. So, Hannah takes baby to Jackson to let him know that he has a niece that needs him. But Jackson doesn't want the baby.

I had so many problems with this book (I didn't like the characters, things didn't always make sense, etc). The biggest one, though, was the fact that Jackson didn't want to adopt his niece. Jackson had a major falling out with his sister, who was a drug addict. But his major issue was that his sister and some of her druggie friends, stole from him. Like seriously, he never even seems that upset that his sister is dead. And I get that they had a falling out. I get that. I understand that he had to distance himself from his sister, because he couldn't help her unless she wanted to be helped. But he still should feel sadness and grief that his sister is gone.

And THEN he isn't at all interested in adopting his niece. And sure people are like that. But he's the her of the story, but this didn't seem heroic. It was hard for me to like him, when he was not being a responsible person. Of course Hannah keeps trying to scheme ways for him to see how wonderful baby girl is (I can't remember her name!), but they were silly.

Hannah wasn't my favorite, either. I thought she was kind of stupid at times. And I just didn't care that much about her. The romance between Jackson and Hannah wasn't great either. What I'm trying to say is that I was either annoyed by The Billionaire's Christmas Baby, or apathetic towards it. That's not a good thing. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

The Billionaire’s Christmas Baby is a story I REALLY wanted to read. After reading one of Victoria James’ other books, I pretty much just had to get all of her books. I must say this book did EXACTLY what I needed it to do. I’ve been reading like a robot for weeks now and I pretty much was looking at reading like a chore and I wasn’t enjoying it. I needed this book to pick me up and make me smile and fall in love with reading again. It definitely did that.

In The Billionaire’s Christmas Baby, Victoria James has given you two characters who are each in need of healing, learning to trust, finding love, and a family they each have craved for a long, long time.

Jackson Pierce has tried to leave his past behind in him. After losing his mother at a young age and protecting his younger sister from their abusive father, only to lose her to drugs, Jackson has left his family and poor childhood behind. He is now the founder and CEO of a large computer software company.

Jackson has no idea how much his life is about to change when he answers the knock at his getaway cabin door. His unwelcomed visitor is none other than Hannah Woods, a social worker who has committed the professional no-no of becoming overly involved in one of her cases. Hannah discovered Baby Emily abandoned on the church steps by her mother, Louise. There was a note attached to her basket telling Hannah to find Emily’s uncle and that he will raise her. Hannah does just that against protocol.

When a blizzard traps Jackson, Hannah, and Emily at his cabin, the attraction between Jackson and Hannah builds as does the tension of Jackson refusing to adopt Emily. With the possibility of one of these three dying in the winter storm, one will come to a life changing decision and have to find a way to make the other trust in the love they are starting to form. One will need to embrace their past in order to move forward. The other will need to let go of the past in order to have the life and future they have always dreamed about.

This is truly a story that will pull at your heartstrings and make you believe in the the power of faith, love, and the magic of Christmas and all it entails.

Christmas miracles are out of this world when two very deserving people with a horrible past can build something new and wonderful.

This story is about a woman that can’t have a little girl go into the foster system when she has a next of kin. Hannah Woods knows exactly what happens in the system. It was Emily’s mother’s wish, Louise, that Hannah find her brother, Christopher James. When Hannah finally finds him he is a very successful founder and CEO of North America’s largest computer software companies and he has an attitude of an orgre. His name is now Jackson Pierce and he wants nothing to do with this woman that is on his porch at his log cabin that is his sanctuary during the Christmas holidays. He believes that this woman is a junkie like his sister and wants her gone. Only he feels bad that he drove her away during an awful blizzard. When he goes after her he founds out that she also has a baby but no idea that this is his niece. All I will have to say is that he practically blows the roof off when he hears what Hannah wants for him to do. Only that Hannah will not give up but maybe she is just asking for too much.

Ms. James writing style is humorous, emotional and filled of love. She drew me in from the very beginning with the wonderful characters that she created in this story. The pain that both of these characters had within them was so sad only that Jackson needed to think about the little charming Emily, she was not at fault for what her mother did. Hannah also needed to stop thinking it was her fault that Louise was gone, that she missed the signs. Both Jackson and Hannah are perfect for each other, they both have a troubled past but they can both heal each other with the help of sweet Emily. I love the dialogue the pace of the story. The passionate scenes in this story are sweet, loving and just full of passion. The characters were developed beautifully.

This is a good pick up of hope during the holidays. That miracles truly do happen if you just believe enough. I know that I will be looking up Ms. James and seeing what other wonderful reads she has written.

Update: Nov 2015 (2 stars)

Some books are meant to be read only once. This book is one of them. I remember loving it so much. I decided to check it again because I wanted a sweet Christmas story. Well, it still has some sweet parts but mostly it annoyed me.

My first reading was three years ago. In no way I'm the same person I was back then. My beliefs, ideals, and thoughts have changed. I have changed and this new person didn't like the premise of: Hannah tracking down Jackson to ask him to adopt his niece. He doesn't want to adopt her so Hannah insists (horribly) because HOW CAN HE NOT ADOPT HIS NIECE?! HE *HAS* TO BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT EXPECTED OF HIM FOR BEING THE UNCLE.

The plot reminded me of those people who tell women they have to be mothers because it is expected of them, because it'll "fulfill" them. No. It's okay to not want to have kids. It's okay to be a woman and don't want to be a mom. It's okay to be a man and don't want to be a dad.

Hannah's attitude was extremely annoying. Her anger towards Jackson because he didn't want the baby, ridiculous and irritating. I couldn't like her at all this second time around. But if you're a fan of this kind of premise, this will be your book.

Original Review - Dec 2012 (5 stars)

This is the kind of book that keeps reminding me why I love so much contemporary romance and don't give a damn to be criticized for it.

'The Billionaire's Christmas Baby' is an amazing story to carry on with the Christmas mood. It's a story that remind us love arrives in the most unexpected ways and times. I absolutely fell in love with Hannah, Jackson and Emily's story. It is a must read for all those romance readers. It doesn't matter it's set around Christmas time because love should be in our lives everyday of the year.

LOVE LOVE IT.

Review to come!!!!

This review originally appeared on my blog All The Bookish Love

Disclaimer: I received this book free of charge from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I’ve had Christmas spirit since the start of November, but I can fully assure you all that even if I wasn’t, The Billionaire’s Christmas Baby would bring it on with a bang! Filled with holiday cheer and tears, Victoria James once again managed to amaze me, by tugging on my heart string until I couldn’t take it anymore.
Hannah Woods spends three weeks tracking down Jackson pierce, the uncle of the baby that’s been left on the church doorstep. She finds him and my initial thoughts were: “What a jackass!” A rich, successful, very good-looking jackass. I was intrigued to see how Victoria James was going to change my mind about him. I never thought I’d cry tons of ecstatic tears when she did.
Taking on the impossible, Hannah goes ahead and agrees to Jackson’s terms, and man oh man are they some extreme terms. I loved Hannah completely. She could put Jackson in his place without even trying. And I’ve gotta hand it to her, turning a complete Scrooge into a Christmassy guy? Well done!
But really, enough about them. I really just want to tell you all what I thought about this story. This story was completely heartfelt and gut-wrenching, and it really made me want to bake some Christmas cookies, but I didn’t, because the book distracted me so much that they would just burn. Victoria James succeeds in once again bringing polar opposites together. She created a fantastic novel that’s definitely worth more than one read. In fact, I think this books should become a Christmas staple to women all over, because that’s how fantastic it is!
And, thanks a lot Victoria, for making me ruin my perfectly good mascara!

This was a sweet and heartwarming read.
Hannah has had a hell of a life and now she has a baby left at her doorstep. Figuring out what she needs to do, Hannah hunts down the very private and jaded CEO Jackson. She has to convince Jackson to adopt the little infant in order for the little girl to have a better life. She does not expect what she finds in Jackson, neither expect the change theirs lives are about to make.
Hannah is a sweet, stubborn, optimistic women with a couple underlying insecurities. She works very hard for what she believes in and even though she has never had a Christmas worth much she still has a love for the holiday. Jackson's life had been full of disappointment and loss. He has no family left and plans on living his life the way he has for years. Until he meets Hannah and the child she has linked to him. Jackson is just as stubborn as Hannah, but wants free of his guilt and pain. He just hadn't seen it yet because he wasn't quite ready to deal. He let his past visibly control him while Hannah hid her past and acted like wasn't running her life.
It was also a steamy read. Both characters were extremely passionate about anything they put theirs minds to... that meant each other as well. The Christmas theme behind it didn't saturate the story like I thought either. One character loved it, the other grew to like it. It took place around Christmas yes, but they let it show more fate at times rather than Christmas miracle. It was more than just a Christmas story. It was about dealing with the past and moving forward with what was handed your way. It was about finding your other half in an unconventional way... but finding that person none the less. I liked this book and it was very cute. I think it would be cool to see a Christmas story out Allison and Ethan too.

Hannah Woods is a social worker and tries the best she can to help those who are in her care. She finds a baby on her doorstep that belongs to one of her cases, and now must embark on a journey to fulfill the mother's wish to find her brother to raise the baby. What she never expects is the way he rejects her and his niece. All she can do is try to wear him down in order to say yes so this beautiful baby will not end up in the foster care system.

Jackson Pierce is a man who had a not so great past, and when he could he changed his name, all to separate himself from that former life. He is now very successful at running a software company. He enjoys his work and his quiet life alone, and then Hannah walks into his life with news of his sister and a baby. His first instinct is to make them go away, but it seems something, or someone, may just be chipping at his heart.

It is not an easy task to get Jackson to agree to adopt his niece, Emily, but Hannah is going to do everything she possibly can to convince him he should. Maybe her emotions are too close to this case, but she feels compelled to make it work out. Hannah and Jack must each conquer the demons in their past in order to accomplish the same goal for this little girl.

I think The Billionaire’s Baby was a great read. It is entertaining, yet at the same time had issues that plague some people their whole life. We all have the power to change our future no matter our past. Jack and Hannah are so right for each other no matter their differences; the common ground they have does way more than balance them out. This is a book to read not just for the Christmas season, but anytime you are looking for an enjoyable read.

What's up with all of the Billionaire bad boy books in the marketplace and why are to believe that they would ever settle for the average American girl? Yet, like other readers I find myself picking up these books to read totally dumbfounded as to the reason why. (Lol)

I will admit that I thought "The Billionaire's Christmas Baby" was going to be a formulaic, sappy, made for T.V.. movie novel and while it was pretty sappy, it also surprised me as well. Hannah is a social workers who lost one of her drug addicted clients when she committed suicide. Before she died, she left her daughter Emily in Hannah's care along with instructions to make sure her brother adopts and raises her.

After doing a little research, Hannah discovers that Emily's uncle is Jackson, the gruff and Scrooge like billionaire. His memories of his sister is how she betrayed him with her drug addicted friends. So, Hannah's job is cut out for her because Jackson wants nothing to do with a baby or the meddlesome social worker until a snow storm forces them to spend time together.

Before you know it both Jackson and Hannah have to confront the tragic events of their past but once they do, they are able to open up to love. Their were many aspects of this story I truly enjoyed but there was one glaring problem as well. The author sets up a major stumbling block to the couple's happiness and then doesn't really resolve it in any meaningful way. I found myself commenting, "Really?" It was almost as if she just became too tired to finish the storyline so she decides to abruptly end the story with a prologue. I don't care if this book was only .99 cents, I didn't want a 1¢ ending.

At this point I am not so sure I will be reading any more books by Ms. James. I really felt cheated!

Wow, another winner from author Victoria James. I love holiday romances, babies and stories about billionaires. So after reading the book blurb, The Billionaire's Christmas Baby became a must read. It is a wonderful book, replete with great characters, a plot that twists and turns in all the right places, and an intelligent love story.

Social worker Hannah Woods spent her childhood in the foster care system and in spite of the harrowing experiences she lived through, evolved into a smart, beautiful, caring woman. She takes her job very seriously and much to the dismay of her boss, works the system to ensure that the children under her jurisdiction are well provided for.

Billionaire software developer Jackson Pierce is an unemotional workaholic. After his mother died when he was just ten years old, his father transformed into a ruthless, violent dictator. Jackson did everything possible to protect himself and his younger sister Louise from his father's rages, but unfortunately, he could not protect Louise from herself as an adult. He spends each holiday season alone with his dog, in a remote cabin, without any cheer. He has no idea that before Louise died, she had a baby. Now Hannah is on a mission to get Jackson to adopt his niece, before she is forced into the foster care system.

This is a heartwarming love story that will cause all your senses to remain on high alert. Ms. James is an excellent storyteller and her words kept me captivated from the very first paragraph in the prologue. This is an engaging holiday romance that should not be missed.
