This SHORT STORY is approximately 4,000 words and also contains excerpts from Emma's Wish and Wild Wyoming Wind.
Mary Willow believed Garrett Connors when he left Texas, promising to come back for her. Now, four years later, he's home, and it seems he doesn't even recognize her. Was his promise a lie? Did she mean nothing to him? Or is there another reason why it took him so long to return?
Margery Scott is the author of more than thirty-five novels, novellas and short stories in various genres, and is an avid reader of almost every genre other than horror, fantasy and sci-fi.
She lives on a lake in Canada with her husband, and when she’s not writing or travelling in search of the perfect setting for her next novel, you can usually find her wielding a pair of knitting needles or a pool cue.
It's a story of second chances. Four years ago Garreth Connor rode out of Calico Creek with a promise to send for Mary as soon as he made it rich chasing gold. Now he's back and Mary wants answers because he clearly doesn't remember her.
Nice short teaser. If you like second chance stories this one leads into a couple starting from scratch - again.
This was a sweet historical western short story. I liked the premise and I even liked the hero and heroine even though I would have liked more emotional depth. The writing was good, especially the historical descriptions. I just wished it was longer. It seemed to end just as things were heating up.
It was an alright story but can we just talk about the fact that the guys name in this story changes from Brett to Garrett and then back to Brett. For a while I had a hard time following who she was even talking about
:) a very very short story, full of moral stuff, but nevertheless an enjoyable one. the charaters brings us with hope, good intentions and above all the perspectives of a true love.
Three short stories, some more detailed and descriptive than the others. Main characters are strong but all have been in by an handsome sweet talking man.
