In an odd Wiccan shop in Salem, Jael pulls an unusual stone from a witch’s wish bag. Little does she know her wildest dreams of adventure and a torrid affair with two gorgeous co-workers are about to come true--in spades.
Jael’s dreamy boss, Roarke offers her the assignment of a lifetime: a photo safari to Mount Kilimanjaro. The African scenery is stunning but the unexpected arrival of her two office crushes, Roarke and Kypton ignites her passion. Just as the trio is getting steamy at a beautiful waterfall, danger intervenes forcing the men to reveal their secret. They're dragons. And now, to save her life, they have no choice but to abduct a startled Jael to their mountain lair on Kilimanjaro.
In the dragons' love nest, Jael learns the truth about their origins and explores all the erotic possibilities two eager lovers can offer. Love awakens, but the guys are being stalked by a covert group of dragon hunters and withholding a life or death secret that will push Jael’s courageous heart and commitment to the limits.
Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: anal play/intercourse, male/male sexual practices, menage (m/m/f).
Amber grew up reading sick and twisted murder mysteries. Romance was for little kids and their fairy tales. One day, after her grandmother died and she inherited a boat load of romances, Amber found a new genre to love. Then she discovered erotic romance and found her calling.
In the summer, when not creating sexy, seductive stories, Amber can be found at the ocean or floating around in her pool, with music blasting in the background. In the winter she enjoys sitting in her sunroom watching the snow fall, with the fireplace glowing. She also spends lots of time with her husband, children, and three dogs.
Claimed By Dragons is the first book I have read written by Amber Skyze or Katalina Leon. But definitely the last one. I don't know if the write together for long but after reading Claimed By Dragons I know they are a fantastic writing team with enough hot material to keep their readers gaining!
Claimed By Dragons is the second book of the Bag of Tricks Series, I have not read the first book The Strix but I had not really the idea I missed anything so I can tell you, that these books can be read as standalone.
Amber Skyze and Katalina Leon really did their best with Claimed By Dragons, it's a dragon shapeshifter paranormal erotic/romance. With all the right elements to keep the paranormal readers interested. The story is strong written with some action, fun and interesting paranormal elements like the dragons, witches, little bit of magic and of course two good looking hot blooded (or cold blooded because of the dragon part, have to check that with the girls??) men. Who also could entertain themselves with just the two of them without the woman always in centre of the threesome.
Threesome? yes you read it right. Apparently these two dragon shifters share their mate :) Jael, the lucky girl of this story meets her drain shifter mates where she works because the are her colleagues.. Roarke and Kypton are a original pair, the bloand and the dark one! as well in character as looks. Well, I can tell you I have been looking around but could not detect them among my co-workers…
I don't know how the girls do the writing if they split the book in two, or each a chapter but I could not detect a change in writing style. But it seams to me two can maybe come up with a more interesting plot than just one mastermind.
Although I liked the story and kept me reading till late at night, I still missed a few little nibbits at the end of the story. More like confusion. For example; Part where Jael is engaged with the two shifters each in the threesome has one ring. But when Jael meets a woman that is married two two shifters the woman wheres two wedding bands? (point two I need to ask)
Overall I enjoyed Claimed By Dragons very much. The revealing of the dragon part was a little stretched and at the end there was an introduction to a pregnancy or at least some tests. Would have been nice to have seen the little to rushed ending of the story with the announcement of the pregnancy.
Maybe I speak to soon and will it all come thru in book 3 of Bag of Tricks Series by Amber Skyze or Katalina Leon. I just have to wait and see :) I recommend Claimed By Dragons to all (18+) paranormal readers. The M/M part of this story makes it extra spicy! Can't wait to hear what you think of it when you have read Claimed By Dragons!
(4.5 Star Top Pick review written by Talina Perkins for Night Owl Reviews) My Review: Claimed by Dragons delivered everything I love about paranormal romance, suspense and erotic romance all in one thrilling book! Sharp dialogue, exotic settings and a fantastic blending of suspense with rich backstory had me spellbound. As soon as I thought I knew what would happen, an unexpected twist or expertly placed backstory would up the ante, jacking the suspense ever higher up until the very last chapter. Admittedly, I had to stop every so often just to absorb everything. It was like eating rich velvety chocolate cherry cake with a sweet cherry in every single bit. Rich, flavorful and you just can’t wait to go back in for another bite.
The authors demonstrated great skill for the craft through their ability to switch between the three main characters point of views seamlessly to bring Roarke, Jael, and Kypton’s story to life through every angle possible. Being a detail orientated person I also enjoyed the use of rich descriptive wording and phrases. And the sensuality of the story is sizzling…no, it’s scorching! Talk about originality! There’s an extraordinary use of original coupling between the men, as well as Jael and the men, that really scorched the sheets.
Claimed by Dragons begins with Jael meeting up with her close girlfriends for a weekend getaway where she discovers magic just might be real. She also finds an ancient prophetess that possibly has a hand in showing her how a stone will lead her to a destiny she never dreamed of. However, as with any good story, it isn't that simple. Jael is a very indecisive person and must make conscious decisions in order to reach that path she truly wants even if she doesn't fully understand what everything implies. This is something she’ll have to overcome and the first step takes her halfway across the world to Mt. Kilimanjaro-land of the fabled Marduko Dragons. There she realizes rather quickly just how vast the unknown is and that being the fated mate of two dragon shifters with a plan to claim her is as exciting and dangerous at it sounds. All too quickly enemies make quick work of driving a wedge between the three, forcing them to fight for what they want or face a cold lonely death. There’s so much more to the story than what can be summed up in a review. Such intricate details and multiple setbacks that make each new chapter as terrifying and thrilling as the last. By the end everything is flipped, connections thought lost are reformed, and a love between three souls is tested up to the very end.
I was really drawn into this story from the beginning to the end. It was nonstop action and drama, and I was glued to the pages. And on top of all that, it was written by two authors, and I couldn't tell at all who wrote what. They work awesomely together as a team, and whatever they did - they did right.
The concept that Jael was drawn to this dragon's egg stone, and the powers it had over her was fascinating. The witch in Salem had told her she needed to bury the egg in order to find true love, but I was still a bit sad when she did decide to return it to nature. I mean really, the egg had some serious keeping qualities! But nonetheless, she returns it to nature and true to the witch's prophecy, she finds true love.
Roarke and Kypton, dragons. I love dragons, and these two guys are definitely getting added to my dragon list. Their names were not exactly my favorite part of the story; they felt a bit too made up for my tastes. But the men behind them were fabulous.
Roarke is the alpha dragon; he is big and beautiful. I really enjoyed him. There were times he felt a bit whiney, and near the end there were definite times I didn't feel he acted like an alpha should. With that being said, he was definitely acting like a man who'd lost the love of his life. I love his need to protect his mates, and the absolute love he showed for Kypton and Jael.
Kypton is the beta dragon; and he is sleek and fast. He definitely seemed to take on the alpha role at times, and I think under different circumstances he could have really shown as an alpha. Never the less, he was smart and cunning, he loved Jael and Roarke with every fiber of his being and I loved him.
Jael, as a human, is a pretty good character. I can only imagine how hard it must be to meet two dragons and then find out you are intended to be their mate. I wish they had been honest with her about every detail right from the beginning, but then I guess it wouldn't be much of a story without any drama.
The heat was terrific in this story. For those of you looking for a straight up m/f/m menage story, you'd better look elsewhere. The majority of this was m/m/f. It was written very well, all love scenes were detailed perfectly yet very sensual. These authors definitely have a talent for letting the emotion show through in a sex scene.
Overall, I am so happy I read this story. The time it took flew by, and I would gladly read it again.
Like it’s prequel, Claimed by Dragons, proved to be a delicious and intriguing read, and a fab continuation of The bag of Tricks series.
The heroine of book 2 is Jael one of the four friends that stepped into Wiccan shop during the trip the group took to Salem. Jael is feisty with a zest for life, but has serious commitment issues. Luckily for her fate is playing in her favour and the two men she has her eye on are going to play a big part in it.
As with Arcona from book one, Jael also has her fortune told and is handed the bag to pick out a stone. She is given instructions on what to do to help bring love into her life. Jael’s journey is further away than Arcona’s, but boy is the journey worth it.
Cue Roarke and Kye, two very opposite males who have a very tender, supportive, and hot relationship. They are the descendants from an ancient race of Dragon shifters known as Marduko, and like all before them they have to find their mate in order to survive . . . and they believe Jael is the one.
I don’t want to go into more detail than that, but what I will say is HOT DAMN there are some super sexy scenes in this story that will have you weak at the knees. Dragon bites? Yes please. ;-P
I enjoyed the background of these creatures. Shifters, but with an interesting history that takes place on another planet, which serves as a very believable reason for them existing. I love how the authors tie in Dragons through mythology, and folklore linking it to these shifters.
We have a secret order who thrive on the destruction of these dragons, some beautiful description of Africa and Kilimanjaro, romance, action, super hot sex scenes, and a fabulous plot.
Claimed by Dragons is an intriguing twist on shifters, not to mention sexy as hell. If you enjoyed book one in The Bag of Tricks Series, then you will definitely love book 2. Katalina Leon and Amber Skyze have weaved yet another fabulous story and I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series.
Oh my! This was one super sexy scorcher of a read, one that any paranormal erotic reader will surely feel its heat and enjoyment! There’s so much excitement, mystery and hot sex that you will find yourself sad to see come to its end. There’s M/M, M/M/F scenes and anal play that burn the pages and a touching story that a reader will never forget!
Jael is a woman that loves adventure and variety (yes, the spice of life). Her life changes once she pulls an odd stone from a wish bag at a witch’s shop when visiting along with friends in Salem. After listening to the loony shop owner tell her about her future lovers and what she must do to make her wish come true, she feels she’ll never find true love or be satisfied with any one man. But she learns otherwise once fate runs its course and ends up giving her EXACTLY what she not only wants, but needs.
Roarke and Krpton not only work together, are lovers and mystical dragon shifters; they also care for the same woman but cannot make their move until the time is just right! These two together are a perfect balance, one being all Alpha, domineering and strong, while the other is more quiet and shy. Both are incredibly hot (even out of the sheets), loving, caring and smart. When they find out their chance of finally having their mate is at its time, they will do anything to convince her to be theirs. To love, honor, cherish and control in the bedroom until the end of time.
There was a lot of “edge of your seat” circumstances, secrets, villains and trials that made it a hard book to put down for even a minute. Each character goes through some changes and growth as the story progresses. But my favorite part is the HEA. This is book 2 to the Bag of Tricks series, but is written as a stand alone read. I look forward to more from this writing duo; they sure know how to create some hot male characters and amazingly erotic sex scenes that leave you panting for more :)
I got to say I quite loved Claimed by Dragons, even though the beginning dragged on and I was tempted to read something else it soon enough picked up and I was hooked. There was a lot more science fiction in this than I expected, but in a good way - it was still very much a shifter romance but I loved the sci-fi angle. I don't know how Skyze and Leon worked this duo but they mesh well and there isn't obvious lines drawn on writers and their style. I'm always so tempted to try and figure out who is writing who, but here I just went with the story. Claimed by Dragons is well written, fun, exciting and definitely sexy in all the yummy ways!
Now to characters! Roarke the Alpha of the dragons was quite intimidating dark, powerful and strict but ended up being more gentle in the bedroom than Kypton who was blond, slighter in built, shyer but had a real dominating streak when it came to sex. And that little mix-up was delicious! Both men were entertaining to read and their relationship with each other was quite loving, I really never read M/M but I liked Roarke and Kypton together even when Jael wasn't there.
Jael was alright, she had some fire and guts, but I couldn't really relate to her, she was bit too brazen at times to be believable - but then she had gentler moments and those I really liked.
I enjoyed the angle on the romance, Roarke's demise if he doesn't get mated created a nice urgency to the story, but let's face it it was all there to begin with so all they needed was to fess up and it was good. What I really liked was the covert group OKSG coming at them to make falling in love and mating a lot harder, it had a cool little Da Vinci Code vibe to it.
I loved all the romance, and I loved the erotic side of Claimed by Dragons! With slightly more believable characters and nixing or mixing the past in there differently this would have been 5 star for me. But at 4 stars you can see it wasn't a big deal, and I very much enjoyed the whole book!
Jael has always been attracted to her two co-workers. When a friend convinces her to try for her heart’s desire, Jael does not expect to find her wish coming true.
Roarke and Kypton know that to have Jael around them with her sensual body and tantalizing scent calls to the very beast inside of them. Determined to prove to themselves as well as to Jael that she is their chosen mate, they set up a test and can only hope that she will pass with flying colors.
When Roarke sends Jael on a trip to take photos of Africa at its most brutal and brilliant moments, she is ecstatic. The beauty and danger that surround her bring her passion for photography to life. But it is the mysterious Marduko dragons that captivate Jael and show her the true desire she has been holding back. When she finds out the two beasts are Roarke and Kypton and they have come to Africa to claim her as their mate, will she flee from them or let her love for them soar for all time?
Claimed by Dragons tells the story of a woman who is unsure of her footing in the world and surrounds her with two deliciously virile males who also happen to shift into dragons. One of the remarkable details of this tale is how Ms. Skyze and Ms. Leon show Jael growing as a person. We get to see her grow from a woman who does not know where she fits into this world, into a woman who fights for love head on. While this book would be considered a full length novel, I found that there were times throughout the story that details that could have made this story richer were not there. A wonderful description of the history of the Marduko dragons is explored during this tale, but I felt as if I was missing pieces of the three main characters’ lives that really would have painted a better picture of their bond to one another. This is a good shape-shifting tale with some very steamy scenes that will have you craving two dragons of your own.
I really enjoyed reading this story especially the dragon shifters. They are a unique shifter but they are also alien to this world. The overall plot was great. The love and passion shared between the three in this story was written very well. I give the book 4 stars.
The dragon shifters were described beautifully and I absolutely loved the history behind their species being included in the story. The author lets you experience their history through Jael seeing Roarke and Kypton’s blood memories. The dragon shifter came to this world from a dying alien planet and in doing so they were also altered to blend with the humans better. The shifters are only male and their offspring are also only male. They mate two male dragon shifters and one female human. The shifters are also hunted by a group who wants to exterminate them. I have to admit I kept waiting for them to be attacked in the story but it came a little later than what I thought it would.
Jael is a strong female but has never been able to commit to just one man. She feels torn between two personalities when it comes to men and when she meets Roarke and Kypton she is attracted to both of them. Little does she know they are already mated to each other and looking for their female human to complete the mating trio. She handles learning all of their backgrounds and the fact that they are shifters pretty well.
The writing was great and the sex was hot in this story. The authors did a really good job introducing us to the shifters and their world. I enjoyed learning all about their history and how they became mated. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series to see which friend of Arcona and Jael’s get paired next and with what type of supernatural creature!
*I received this review free from the author in return for an honest review.*
There aren’t many dragon themed reads out there which is just one element that makes this read unique and interesting. Sometimes I find with books that are written by two authors the read can be jumbled and a little mismatched in places, but this was done brilliantly. The characters were so well written and the story flowed in a way that you didn’t feel overwhelmed with what was happening and allowed you to enjoy the storyline.
I loved Roarke and Kypton, they balance each other out so perfectly. Roarke the alpha, protective and stubborn one, with Kypton being the more sensitive and gentle soul, together they are dynamite. Jael is a strong and determined character which I quite liked, her willingness to follow her heart and not willing to give up or settle for anything but when she feels deep down is right for her, which worked out perfectly, her indecisive ways leading her to happiness in the end.
I would have liked to see the moment Roarke and his mother reunite, it would have been such a special moment to read but other than that I greatly enjoyed this book. If you are looking for a read that is both steamy and a little adventurous then this jus might be a read for you, especially if you are looking to expand your reading into something with dragons. I will definitely be looking into more works from these authors.
Wow, I think shifter lovers will go wild for this one. I can't say I've read a whole lot of dragon shifter stories myself, but if they're half as hot (no pun intended ;) as Roarke and Kypton then I might have to push the wolves to side and enjoy me some more dragons.
Yep, it's a m/m/f story, and if you haven't broadened your erotic romance horizons yet, you really should. There's something more in-depth about a menage relationship where all of the characters interact rather than just the men fawning over the female. Love, and dedication are where it's at, and Roarke, Kypton, and Jael's story is sweet and heartbreaking at the same time . When an author (in this case two) can manage to turn an erotic romance into something deeper than sex I know I've found a winner!
Check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
*Claimed by Dragons is part of a series, but I don't feel you need to read them in order to understand the plot.
Claimed by Dragons is the second in the Bag of Tricks series. Arcona's friend Jaed is our leading lady and she is about to have almost more than she can handle. She can been selected as a mate by two of her co-workers. Now as weird as that may sound at first - it doesn't seem so strange once you find out they're actually dragons. Dragons mate as trios and she is the finishing piece to their puzzle.
I loved the interplay between Roarke and Krypton - the had the casual banter of people that had been in love since they first set eyes on each other. All they needed was their female to complete their little family. But Jaed has a hard time accepting the fact that she's been chosen, and to top it all off, she is now being hunted by people that would like to see all the dragons dead. The ending and their solution to their problem was absolutely brilliant and very surprising. A great read.
