Please note: this is meant to be read AFTER Find You in the Dark. It is not a stand alone and contains spoilers for that story. My review, however, is spoiler-free ;)

What an absolute treat to be given a novella like this!

Its not often that you are able to get a part of the story that quite literally happens DURING a favorite book you’ve read – that takes the time to shine the spotlight on the secondary characters, to follow their lives and stories for a while, and to see the main characters you have come to love from a whole new perspective.

I thought it completed FYITD with details that wouldn't have made sense to include in FY but that you still really wanted.

Maggie, Rachel and Danny have all been best friends since Kindergarten. Rachel has been in love with Danny since the day he saved her from bullies, but unfortunately, he has never seen her yet as anything but the very best of friends.

There was this pull between them that both of them felt, that Rachel desperately wanted to give in to and that Danny kept trying to ignore – unsure if the feelings were returned but really all they needed was a nudge in the right direction, which, thanks to their direct, no-BS, best friend, Maggie, they got

Having only seen Rachel and Danny from Maggie’s POV so far in Find You in the Dark, it was so wonderful to get inside their heads and see what they were thinking… and of course, to watch them get a beautifully happy ending.

"I just want to be the only thing he sees. I want to feel like we’re walking on clouds when we’re together. That I’m the girl he wants.”

I loved it because I felt like I already knew them so well from the previous book that I was able to instantly connect with them both right from the start of the novella – it was kind of just like taking a side step.

I’ll say again how much I really love this author’s writing. Its just one of those styles that flows so smoothly and keeps you immersed in the story.

I’ll say that normally avoid novellas because I find I don’t usually have the time to connect with the characters, but I felt that because I read this one directly after Find You in the Dark, it just felt to me more like I was reading extra scenes from it – like it was somehow just an extension of that book. And, as such, I feel like my rating is also an extension of Find You In The Dark. I can’t rate them separately because the stories belong together.

I repeat. This is NOT a standalone.

But the whole story (starting with Find You in the Dark and leading here to Cloud Walking), the characters, everything, to me is worth 5 stars.

Basically, if you loved FYITD, and all its characters, then you’ll definitely love this.

It was short, sweet and I loved that Danny and Rachel got their HEA in the midst of all the emotional turmoil going on with Maggie and Clay. As its own story though, it was a lot less emotional – no tears or anything. It’s just a cute, short, sweet story of two best friends falling in love.

“There is no Daniel Lowe without Rachel Bradfield.”

The story takes place parallel to FYITD so be warned again, there are major spoilers in this book if you haven’t yet read Clay and Maggie’s story!

I would highly recommend reading this whole story. They’ve made it onto my favorites pile :)

Here's the reading order:
Find You in the Dark (Find You in the Dark, #1) by A. Meredith Walters Book #1
Cloud Walking (Find You in the Dark, #1.5) by A. Meredith Walters Companion novella #1.5

Book #2: Light In The Shadows - will be released this spring (tentatively March)

Aaah, I'm so excited for Light in the Shadows, having absolutely adored Find You in the Dark, so I was really excited to be able to read this beautiful novella, about surrounding characters, Maggie's friends, Rachel and Daniel.

In Find You in the Dark there is a continuous sub storyline playing out in the background with Rachel and Daniel, and A. Meredith Walters did a fantastic job at piecing all of it together to form Cloud Walking.

Daniel Lowe. My savior. My perfect guy. The boy who would never love me the way that I loved
him.

Daniel is gorgeous and such a typical man. I think we can all relate the how exasperating the male species can be, with their obliviousness, their one track mind and their inability to remember arrangements... Daniel is all of those things, but so completely loveable. You can't help but like him straight away.

"If I've ever made you feel less than crucial to my life, I apologize. Because you are important to me. Actually important doesn't even cover it. You are fundamental to who I am. There is no Daniel Lowe without Rachel Bradfield.”

And poor Rachel. She has loved her best friend, from afar, forever, and he is completely blind to her. Until now...

"This is what love was supposed to feel like.
This perfect immersion of two people who were ready and willing to become a part of each other. ”

The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because it is too short!!! I could read about these characters forever and if I thought I couldn't wait for Light in the Shadows beforehand, I'm positively chomping at the bit now!

Roll on March 26th! Woop!

“I just want to be the only thing he sees. I want to feel like we're walking on clouds when we're
together. That I'm the girl he wants,”

“Love shouldn't make you feel like that. It should be as natural as breathing. It should happen between two people because it grew there out of something beautiful.”

Hm...can't say i love it, but can't say i hate it either. It was just boooooooooooring for me.

I liked Rachel and Danny in Find you in the Dark, but here...they just bored me a lot(but they are still cute couple).

Another issue with this book is that it is complete parallel with the story of the first book. It felt like reading behind the scenes part - almost every chapter already happened in the first book and nothing was actually new. I wish there were parts with two of them and their relationship from earlier, but that didn't happen. So i was disappointed. Also, as much as the focus is on those two, there was also a little focus on Maggie and Clay, but it was still there...

Dunno... it's really not necessary to read this one unless you want to know more about Rachel and Danny, but still, i wish it had been longer, that it had more about them, but it's not bad either....

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not super fond of sequel novellas that go right alongside events in a book I've already read. I liked this book because I loved the characters but the whole repeat kind of bores me. In fact, other books out there have been a dnf when they did that. So 3.5 is good for me, comparatively speaking.

This is Daniel and Rachel's story. I enjoyed getting into Rachel's head with the dual POV. In Find You in the Dark, I found her kind of pouty and childish so hearing her thoughts and frustrations with Daniel and her feelings for him helped me understand her better. I think all four characters in this series are wise beyond their years. It's refreshing to read they're still kids but their devotion to each other in good times and bad is enduring.

It's a quick read. Not a lot of new events as it's alongside book one but hearing the events firsthand how Rachel and Daniel come together is nice.

*** As a side note. This book can easily be skipped over from Find You in the Dark to Light in the Shadows. I did that as I couldn't wait to finish Maggie and Clay's story then I went back to this last. I missed out on nothing......

I loved Danny and Rachel's story.

I really did!

But... I kind of got the gist of it from "Find You in the Dark".

Know what I mean?

I'm glad A. Meredith Walters wrote this because it gave a back-drop on their relationship.

That's all. :)

“I just want to be the only thing he sees. I want to feel like we’re walking on clouds when we’re together. That I’m the girl he wants."

Cloud Walking is a novella that tells the story of Rachel and Daniel from Find You In The Dark. You MUST read that first as Cloud Walking discusses spoilers from the first novel!

The story of Rachel and Daniel is a very sweet story. They've been best friends since they were babies. Rachel has been in love with Daniel since she was 5 years old when a bully pushed her down and stole her jump-rope. Daniel being the cute protective guy that he is knocked the guy down and punched him in the face... and as he was being led to the principals office he gave Rachel a little smile and handed her her jump rope back. *sigh*

"If I've ever made you feel less than crucial to my life, I apologize. Because you are important to me. Actually important doesn't even cover it. You are fundamental to who I am. There is no Daniel Lowe without Rachel Bradfield." -Daniel

Daniel, however is another story. He is so wrapped up in his on again/off again relationship with his girlfriend that he has a hard time seeing what's in front of him all along. I found myself so frustrated with Danny throughout the book just waiting for him to get his act together and realize what has been in front of him all along. However, that ends as Danny understands that Rachel, the girl he's thought of as his best friend for years, is really who he wants to be with.

"She could tell me to go to hell. She could kick me in the balls and say that she hated me. But I wasn't leaving. I would love her until she realized that together we were something great. Something perfect. Something forever." ~Daniel

I loved reading about their love story. Just hearing about it from other characters POV was frustrating, so it was great to get the insight from these cloud-walkers first-hand.

PLEASE REMEMBER: If you plan on reading the first novel in this series then you MUST read that before reading Cloud Walking!!

Before you read this....you MUST read Find You in the Dark!

LOVED this book....or novella. It was a great addition to this amazing series. I loved Find You in the Dark. The characters are amazing and unforgettable. I loved the character development. I loved Maggie and Clay and Rachel and Daniel. It was so wonderful to hear that the author was writing Rachel and Daniel's story. Their small part in FYitD was enough to make me like them, but not love them. Not like Maggie and Clay. But after getting this sweet gem, I've come to love them just as much.

Rachel and Daniel have been best friends since birth. They were destined to be...their mothers were high school best friends along with Maggie's mother so it only made sense for them to grow up as close. Even though the mothers all went their separate ways and broke off the closeness; Maggie, Daniel and Rachel remained close.

If you've read Find You in the Dark, you'll know how things have gone with these characters. When Maggie meets Clay she forgets all about her two best friends. The two that have their own issues right in front of their faces, never having realized their connection goes way deeper than friendship. Maggie could always tell that there was something more there and she even pushed Rachel to acknowledge her true feelings for Daniel...but if Daniel could see past his dick and for 2 seconds and past the little bitch, Kylie that he keeps chasing for the past year, he'd know that what he feels for her is more as well.

Daniel and Kylie have been off and on for the past year. She's a real annoying shit that deserves to be slapped around. She has Daniel on a short leash and since he loves screwing her so much, he won't see his true feelings for Rachel. Dude, get your cock in your pants long enough to see that she's not worth your time. You love Rachel...NOT Kylie. Duh!!!!

Well, it takes a lot of drama and heartbreak for them to finally GET IT TOGETHER. And when they finally do, it's great! They are on a trip with Maggie and Clay at a cabin in the woods area with a couple other friends. Drama here...drama there. And eventually, they finally hook up. It's about time. Seriously.

I loved reading from both Daniel and Rachel's POV. They were great characters in FYitD. But now I understand them better. I love them more. I see what their problem with Clay was because they didn't know him and his situation. They had their own issues to deal with. They were falling in love and that trumped all other issues. As it should. But they always put their problems aside for their best friend Maggie. She had alot of struggles that they weren't understanding. They didn't like Clay but I think it was just out of love and concern for her. Clay was really messed up and they didn't know what was happening. All they saw was Maggie becoming a different person, someone they didn't know. It concerned them and in turn, they had to put their growing love for each other on hold. I loved feeling their emotions, their struggle to take their forever friendship to the next level, their confusion and fear with the drama going on with Maggie and Clay. It made me love Daniel and Rachel so much more because now I feel like I really know them...not just as side characters but as real friends. They were perfect. I loved Daniel's inner dialogue....his fight to keep his manhood at bay. He made me laugh a lot.

My favorite though will always be Maggie and Clay. I love those two so much...and God help me with patience as I wait for the sequel. I can't wait any longer...but I will. It's not too long. This is definitely a top favorite series and the characters are memorable and relatable. And I enjoyed Rachel and Daniel's story...it was the perfect story to keep me interested. Thanks for sharing their sweet love story with us Walters!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR LIGHT IN THE SHADOWS!!!

I definitely recommend this series....like I said in the previous review-it's dark and handles some disturbing issues, but it's worth the try. 5 stars!!!

"Cloud walking. I like that. And yeah, that's exactly how you make me feel. Like my feet will never touch the ground."

5 stars! Find you in the Dark was one of my favorite books from last year, so of course I loved this!!! It was great to get a look in Daniel and Rachel's heads. The story is told from both of their pov's, which makes it that much better!

Maggie, Rachel and Danny have been best friends practically since birth. Danny refers to Maggie and Rachel as 'his girls'. Maggie sees Danny as a brother, but Rachel has been in love with him for as long as she can remember.

I loved him. I hated him. I wanted to kiss him. I wanted to strangle him. I was a walking, talking, contradiction.

Danny has an on again/off again girlfriend, Kylie. He is constantly backing out of plans with the girls when Kylie comes around. He knows he's being a jerk and he hates it. Lately, he doesn't even really want anything to do with Kylie. Another girl has been catching his eye... Rachel. He has been having feelings for her and he doesn't know what to do about it.

Rachel Bradford was my best friend. And she deserved a hell of a lot more than an asshole like me. She deserved a guy who could be her Prince Charming. Not a douchebag who didn't know his ass from his elbow. A guy who spent his entire life screwing up everything he touched. Rachel was better than me. She could do better than me. And damned if I didn't want more for her than my sorry ass.

For a while, they are both distant towards each other and pretty miserable. Eventually, they work out their issues. Just as Maggie and Clay's relationship is coming apart, Rachel and Danny's is coming together.

" Love shouldn't make you feel like that. It should be as natural as breathing. It should happen between two people because it grew out of something beautiful.

I loved seeing some of the scenes from Find you in the Dark from Danny and Rachel's perspective! Danny is such a great guy! I especially loved reading from his pov. It was great to get more Maggie and Clay... Can never have enough Clay!!!

If you loved Find you in the Dark like me, you will love this! Something to hold you over until Light in the Shadows comes out!!!

I ate this book up! Just try not to make it about Maggie and Clay (they'll have their time again). Let all your focus be on Rachel and Danny! What we learn is that feelings were mutual between them and it just took them a while to figure it out. This was just what I needed after reading a downer book. I loved that it was short and full of emotions just waiting to burst and when they finally did it was awesome!

Favorite quotes:

"I want to feel like we're walking on clouds when we are together. Like I'm the girl he wants."

"Baby girl, you deserve some cloud walkin'."

AND

"If I have ever made you feel less crucial in my life, I apologize. Because you are important to me. Actually important doesn't even cover it. You are fundamental to who I am. There is no Daniel Lowe without Rachel Bradfield." gaaah!!

Can't wait for Light in the Shadows! March can't get here fast enough!!

This is a fantastic little read, telling the story of Rachel and Daniel from Find You in the Dark. PLEASE NOTE - YOU MUST READ THAT BOOK FIRST! Assuming that you are all sensible readers and have, in fact, read it first, you’ll know where this story goes. But I still lapped up every single moment! This is a total indulgence read! You know exactly what is going to happen, but you read it just for the pleasure of it, and I absolutely LOVED IT!

Rachel and Daniel’s story is gorgeous. Rachel is a great character. Your normal 17 year old girl, she is caring, fun, and has been in love with her best friend Daniel since she was 5 years old.

“I loved him. I hated him. I wanted to kiss him. I wanted to strangle him. I was a walking, talking contradiction. There were days I was so torn by my conflicting emotions that I thought I would be ripped in half. Staring at my best friend and secret object of my undying love, I wondered if I would ever get off this crazy train of emotions swirling around inside me. I didn't like feeling this way. But the truth was I couldn’t remember a time I didn’t feel this aching need to completely immerse myself in all things Daniel Lowe.”

Daniel is absolutely fantastic! He is such a 'nice' guy! He is fun, loving, and has a wickedly sarcastic and self-depreciating sense of humour - he made me laugh so many times! The story is in dual POV, and getting inside of his head was an absolute treat! He is, of course, totally oblivious to how Rachel feels, hooking up with his skanky on/off girlfriend, and unknowingly breaking Rachel’s heart over and over while doing so. She and Maggie have been his best friends since childhood, and the three of them have a fantastic dynamic. He loves his girls, and I love how protective he is over them.

“I loved these chicks. They kept me in line. And I didn’t know what I’d do without them.”

“My protective instincts were going into overdrive and I wanted to go smack the shit out of the punk for getting my friend wound up like that.
No one messed with my girls. Ever.”

But we get to see things shift as Daniel slowly comes to the realisation that Rachel means more to him than just a friend. As it all unfolded, I really liked that he had no clue how she felt about him because it was hilarious watching him try to sort through what he was feeling (and again, thank God for boy POV!!!).

“Why couldn’t I stop being an asshole for two seconds? Oh that’s right, because my insides were currently a flipping mess because of a sudden realisation that my best friend was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.”

“I would not ruin the best relationship in my life over crazy hormonally driven lust. But even I could recognize that what I felt for the girl in front of me went way beyond lust.
But I couldn’t go there. Not now. Not ever.

Yep, I ran away. Like a little bitch.”

“I still couldn’t look at her. Scared that if I did, I would attack her. And by attack, I mean maul her face with my lips.”

“She gripped her hands into fists as she let out everything she was feeling. I could admit I was freaked out. But I was also perversely turned on by it. Because she was hot when she was pissed. There was something seriously wrong with me.”

The love story between the two of them grows beautifully. There is a fantastic build up, and lots of swoony moments.

“How could you and me end badly? We’re already the most amazing thing ever.”

The other side of the story, of course, is watching Rachel and Daniel’s reaction to all that happens with Maggie and Clay. With this novella fitting in perfectly with the beginning of Find You in the Dark all the way through to the end, it gives a bit of additional insight to see things from Rachel and Daniel’s perspectives, and the overall story has been fleshed out a bit more becasue of that.

I was so excited to read this novella, and Walters didn’t let me down. Even though it was short, it was still fantastically written and very realistic, with lots of emotion. I felt everything right alongside Rachel and Daniel the whole way through.

I’m loving this little series! I’m absolutely in love with each of the characters, and am so looking forward to finishing the story with Light in the Shadows.

5 stars.

Aww jolly gosh, this was super thuper cuuuttee!!!

“Love shouldn't make you feel like that. It should be as natural as breathing. It should happen between two people because it grew there out of something beautiful.”

Made me super happy to read Rachel and Danny's story unfold. The entire time I was reading Find You in the Dark, I kept thinking that I wanted to see more of them. But alas, they got their own novella!!

Even though I knew this was just a novella, I still wished that their story was longer. I kinda felt rushed. But beggars can't be choosers, so I'll take it as is!! Great read, and fast too. Perfect for any day! I wouldn't recommend reading this until after reading Find You In The Dark. I mean it doesn't really spoil anything, but it does reveal a lot of their feelings towards Maggie and Clay's relationship.

Super cute read! Buy it, read it, love it!! :)

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this novella! I absolutely loved getting an inside look into Daniel and Rachel's relationship. It is told from both characters' perspectives and it was so great to finally get to be inside both of their heads. I think we had absolutely no doubt that Rachel was in love with Daniel in Find You in the Dark, but Cloud Walking delves a little deeper into her feelings and also lets you see exactly how Daniel felt about Rachel. You also get to find out what the heck he was thinking even being with Kylie!

I also loved that we finally got to see a lot of the scenes between Daniel and Rachel that were just mentioned in the first book, especially what happened at the cabin!! There is also scenes we weren't even aware of that were just AMAZING!! Daniel really is a great guy, and I absolutely adore him even more than I did reading Find You in the Dark. You also get an inside look into both characters' family lives and it was extremely helpful in understanding their personalities and decisions.

This novella is great at touching on the events that happened in Find You in the Dark without retelling them. The author did a great job making sure we were just seeing Daniel and Rachel's perspectives. I think this book is an awesome addition to the series and I am so grateful to A. Meredith Walters for writing it!! Can't wait for Light in the Shadows!!

I will read this again after Light in the Shadows. I think I'm still too emotional when it comes to Clay and Maggie. I should have waited and finished the series w/this one.
Of course this is a good story. The author rocks!! It's just hard for me personally to be happy for Daniel and Rachel while Clay and Maggie are devastated. Sorry:(

A short novella telling Rachel and Daniel's story.

“He devoured me.  From the inside out.  He had taken a hold of every tiny piece of my heart, my soul, my life.  And I never wanted him to give it back.  This is what love was supposed to feel like.  This perfect immersion of two people who were ready and willing to become a part of each other”

So freaking cute. As much as I hated Maggie and Clay. I loved Daniel and Rachel.
And Daniel is right. Love should be as easy as breathing.
One of the few exceptions to novellas (I generally don't like them).
Even though most of the scenes were repeated from 'Find You in the Dark', it was nice to hear it from Rachel's and Daniel's perspective.

So I read Find You In the Dark a long time ago and when A. Meredith Walter's contacted me letting me know she was allowing me to advance read Cloud Walking well...........................................

See I wanted more of Rachel & Danny actually I needed more :) This book is told from both POV's which I so adore. It begins right around the time Maggie has "noticed" Clay so if your familiar with the first book you know what I'm talking about! Danny, Rachel & Maggie have been best friends all born within months of each of other to mothers that were high school best friends, attendants in each other's weddings and of course took part in each other's baby showers. So yep, this trio was destined to the best of friends. Danny refers to Rachel & Maggie as "my girls" but what Danny doesn't know is Rachel has be in love with him since the second grade that's a very long time! Maggie knows but she hasn't told Danny and Rachel well she just sits back and watches Danny dating Kylie who is not good enough for him. Her emotional turmoil of him not knowing how she feels and him being "THE ONE" for her is right there in black and white and you feel her pain. There were times where Danny would do something and I wanted to..............................

Yep right his inconsiderate arse!! Danny was making plans with the "girls" and constantly backing out and well he knew it and he felt bad but for some reason Kylie just had a hold on him until he finally started to pay more attention to Rachel. See Danny had his own feelings for her and his fear of rejection held him back. He struggled with his own self control and questioned his manliness. It was actually quite funny to read his internal monologues. There were parts of the book where I was .......................................................

When things finally are out in the open well it was just so..........

LOL! Maybe quite not like that but I was *** sigh *** just so happy! This book was so totally....................................

It was a nice little hold me over until Maggie & Clay's story continues which I have a feeling we might see a little bit more of Danny & Rachel!

Another 5 star read for me! This book touches each emotion and in typical A. Meredith Walter's fashion is beautifully written. I recommend that you grab this book when it comes out in TWO DAY'S!!!! To finally see what transpired inside Rachel & Danny's head was awesome and just maybe if you haven't already you will find your Cloud Walking! Excellent book :)

I WILL START BY SAYING... IF YOU HAVEN'T READ Find You in the Dark (Find You in the Dark, #1) by A. Meredith Walters DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW... GO SNAG YOURSELF A COPY... THEN PROCEED TO THIS ONE... WITH THAT SAID...I HAVE TO RATE THIS ONE 4.5 STARS .....

The story is basically the same from FYITD... But we do get a couple of behind the scenes that weren't in the previous book... I truly enjoyed this one and I feel that both Rachel and Danny are great supporting characters... so them getting their own book so that we can see how their relationship progressed was awesome...

"I Just Want To Be The Only Thing He Sees. I Want To Feel Like We're Walking On Clouds When We're Together. That I'm The Girl He Wants."

Rachel and Danny are best friends who are both secretly in love with eachother... But neither of them have the courage to open up because they are afraid that it can potentially ruin their friendship... In this story we learn that Danny was also interested in Rachel all along... and although it came pretty close to not happening... thanks to Kylie I'm glad it worked out the way it did...

"Love Shouldn't Make You Feel Like That. It Should Be As Natural As Breathing. It Should Happen Between Two People Because It Grew There Out Of Something Beautiful."

I know that some people are not going to like the fact that both Rachel and Danny weren't very supportive of Maggie and Clay's relationship... because it's one of the main focuses of this story... But what you have to realize is the fact that they are being kept in the dark and aren't aware of Clay's condition... But over all it was a fun, short read... and I can't wait till for LIGHT IN THE SHADOWS ... to come out.

I read this book after light in the shadows, wherein I think you're supposed to read it, in between. But I loved it just the same. This book actually gave me a little bit of closure. I was not ready to let this series go and this book was great in allowing me to do that.

Daniel and Rachel's story was everything different from Maggie's and Clays but just as beautiful. Maggie and Clay had an angst-filled and emotionally exhausting but beautiful love where in Rachel and Daniel had an easy and perfect kind of love. Daniel and Rachel fit together so perfectly, they made everything look easy. They had their fair share of problems and angst leading up to the moment at the cabin. Before they actually become a couple, they had drama and lots of issues, mostly jealousy lol. But once they came together, you could just tell it was meant to be.

This was an easy, light, and fun read. I really enjoyed this novella and once again it provided me the closure that I needed lol. This is not a stand alone, so I recommend that anyone interested in reading this, read find you in the dark first! You will not be disappointed!

Oh I so personally prefer light romantic story ...Feeling so happy after reading it ...

I never decided to read this one , I was very much inclined to complete Clay & Maggie 's story, but once I completed reading Find you in dark , I couldn't stop rooting for Danny & Rach ...I so had to find this book , & rear it within the afternoon ...

I loved the characters ,& was eager to read their POVs ... I so loved Danny more ... & Rach is not just a perfect best friend but a perfect girlfriend as well ...

Its good to get Danny's side story , the facts that were not known to either Maggie or Rach , his feelings , his expressions ... ah he is indeed adorable & a perfect boyfriend material ....

I loved their idea of love :

“Love shouldn't make you feel like that. It should be as natural as breathing. It should happen between two people because it grew there out of something beautiful.”

The people who find their love this way are seriously lucky ....

I loved this novella. Reading Daniel & Rachel's story was like visiting with old friends. I am happy that Daniel and Rachel found the courage to admit their love for each other. At the same time their love in contrast to Clay & Maggie's made me sad. We can't help who we fall in love with. Daniel & Rachel can view Maggie & Clay's relationship objectively but they are not aware of the struggles Clay & Maggie are dealing with to hang on to their love. Love comes in many forms, sometimes it's easy and other times it could be painful. Who's to say which kind of love is better; it's different for everyone. I do love the strong bond that exists in Maggie, Rachel and Daniel's friendship. Maggie will need them as she tries to come out of the darkness.

I had the pleasure of reading the ARC of Cloud Walking. I fell in love with all of them in book one. Cloud Walking will give you the insight of not only their friendship but how Rachel and Daniel knew all along that they were meant to be together. Looking forward to Light in the Shadows. Hopefully we will not only get a happy ending for Maggie and Clay but get to read more on Rachel and Daniel. Thank you Meredith Walters for sharing Cloud Walking with me not only was it another great book but it made me excited to read Light in the Shadows as well. Any word on the release date?

What an amazing story. I loved this look into Rachel and Daniel's love story. This book was so unique in that in went along with book 1. I totally thought this filled in some of the missing pieces in FYITD. It was interesting to read about the thoughts and feelings of both Rachel and Daniel. I would definitively recommend this book to anyone who has read FYITD....you must read this to complete that story.

Love in this book how Rachel's mom describes to her about "Cloud Walking" Danny and Rachel's story is very touching and along with how they are trying to help Maggie dealing with Clay. They are such great friends. I can't wait to find out what happens in Light in the Shadows

*I was gifted an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review on Ashley's Book Nook*

“Love has a way of consuming you. Making you lose all focus. But it could also lift you up and make your life that much better. Make you feel like it was the only thing in the world you needed.” – Daniel

Cloud Walking is a novella in the Find You in the Dark series and should be read after Find You in the Dark due to spoilers.

This review is going to be short and sweet – much like Cloud Walking. I am so glad A. Meredith Walters gave us the opportunity to get inside the minds of Daniel and Rachel, and see firsthand how they turned a life-long friendship into something so much more.

Daniel, Rachel, and Maggie have been best friends since they were all knee high to a grasshopper. While Maggie and her boyfriend, Clay, are touched upon in Cloud Walking, they aren't the focus; Daniel and Rachel are. Rachel has been in love with Daniel for as long as she can remember, but refuses to voice those feelings. Instead, she sits back and watches him date a girl who doesn't deserve him, and lets Daniel walk all over her feelings. Daniel has always loved Rachel – in a best friend sort of way. Except lately he’s been seeing her in a different light. He doesn’t see her as just his best friend Rachel anymore; he sees her as a beautiful girl that would do anything for him – and he would do just about anything to kiss her. But does he want to chance it and risk losing her friendship forever?

I have been a huge fan of A. Meredith Walters ever since I read Find You in the Dark. Her writing style flows wonderfully, and she has a way of really making you connect with her characters. When I found out there would be not only a sequel to Find You in the Dark, but a short novella about Daniel and Rachel as well!? I think it’s sufficed to say, I was one happy girl.

I loved seeing the relationship between Daniel and Rachel evolve from friendship to romance on a firsthand basis. Sure, we got a little bit of that in Find You in the Dark, but it was from Maggie’s POV – we were on the outside looking in. In Cloud Walking, we finally got to see what was really going on in both of their heads while they wrestled with their overwhelming feelings for each other. It also really showed me that Daniel felt just as strongly about Rachel, as she did about him; in Find You in the Dark, that wasn't horribly clear. It seemed a little one sided to me, at least up until the night at the cabin.

I said this was going to be a short review. Well, I guess I’m a liar so I’ll try to wrap this up. As I stated earlier, I would highly recommend reading Find You in the Dark before this novella, because it will give away spoilers. I adored Cloud Walking, and I think it was nice to have a feel-good romance to break up the angst-driven books in this series that showcase Clay and Maggie’s relationship. Plus, best friend romances are my absolute favorite – Christ on a cracker, I just love them! This was a great, quick read that shows us love shouldn't hurt, it should make you feel wonderful...whole...it should make you feel like you’re cloud walking. ;)

*Cloud Walking definitely needs to be read after Find You in the Dark!*

I just can't get enough of this story! If you read my Find You in the Dark review, then I don't think it is any mystery that I am over the top in love with everything about this story. So, when I heard that there was a novella coming out, I dropped everything else to read it. Cloud Walking is not a continuation of Find You in the Dark. Rather, it focuses on Daniel and Rachel's story. They were such essential supporting characters in Find You in the Dark that had their own story playing into Maggie and Clay's story. So, it was so nice to get both of their perspectives on what was going on with them through it all.

“Love shouldn't make you feel like that. It should be as natural as breathing. It should happen between two people because it grew there out of something beautiful.”

Rachel has had feelings for Daniel since they were kids. But, she has had to watch him chase after girls, namely his most recent on again off again girlfriend, Kylie. Rachel has spent her life being the peace maker that takes care of everyone else with no thought for herself and has approached her relationship with Danny in the same manner. And now, she is just about fed up.

“Daniel Lowe. My savior. My perfect guy. The boy who would never love me the way that I loved him.”

Daniel has been like the protective older brother to Maggie and Rachel. Everything has been perfect until Maggie starts pining after Clay and Rachel starts becoming hostile towards him. Through all of this, he starts to see Rachel in a different light. But, he is terrified of screwing up their friendship.

“If I've ever made you feel less than crucial to my life, I apologize. Because you are important to me. Actually important doesn't even cover it. You are fundamental to who I am. There is no Daniel Lowe without Rachel Bradfield.”

I absolutely love both Rachel and Daniel but I couldn't help but be so excited when Rachel would speak her mind. I felt so sorry for her. She allowed those around her, especially Daniel to take advantage of her people pleasing nature. Daniel could be blind at times but he really was such a great guy that just needed a wake up call!

“I just want to be the only thing he sees. I want to feel like we're walking on clouds together."

Once again, the alternating perspectives helped to make this complete perfection. Not only do we get a little more of Clay and Maggie, but we also get to see some of the exact situations from Find You in the Dark play out from Rachel and Daniel's POV.

This is first novella that I have read. I have been hesitant to read any for fear that it just wouldn't be enough. I was surprised at how much was packed into this short read. I didn't have any problems getting hooked and felt that it was a great addition to this series. I so can't wait for Light in the Shadows!!!
