Necessary Evil

Unfortunately this book is a requirement for all vessels by federal regulations. It is extremely difficult to read in order to familiarize oneself with nautical collision regulations and therefore is only usable as a reference book. No wonder people prefer Chapman’s colregs.

After looking through the ship's library I worked on through the summer and I came across this navigational book. It completely opened up my understanding of navigation on the water and sparked more interest in working on ships. Studying this handbook is a requirement by the U.S. Coast Guard for those stationed in navigational positions.

Had to read this for work...necessary evil it is. Very useful for those aquatic folk.
