"...there was always that one guy, the one that every other man is measured against...His imprint was all over her, a fingerprint unique to only her. How many men had to live up to memories they couldn't compete with?"

Margaret, or now known as Riley comes face to face with the boy, now man who broke her heart, the one who made her change everything about herself, the only problem, he doesn't recognize her
"She'd change her name, change her looks, but never managed to change her heart. Was se handed another chance to get her heart ripped to shreds, or had she just received the ultimate do-over?"

Mike Taylor, has lived by the rules all his life, doing what he should and always in control, from the moment he meets Riley, all his plans get turned upside down.
"Am I allowed to propose a toast with absinthe?"
"Who cares if you're allowed or not."
"To meeting you, and learning to appreciate a few surprises."

Riley, keeps the truth to herself, wanting to get the closure she needs to move on, but it's not as easy as it seems
"This wasn't a high school crush, it had becaome grander and bigger and could have been perfect, but she cheated at the game."

Riley and Mike indulge in phone sex, so heavy petting
"She owned his erection, he was nothing more than a play thing."

Closure was a quick easy read, the book takes place in a span of a few days, we know Margaret was different but we never really know why, she just is. I thought the time gap that she needed closure from was pretty damn long, seventeen years, but I guess if it's a life-changing event then you don't really get over it. There was some power-play going on between the two, and the sexual build-up was pretty good, but I was hoping for more bang at the end. It was an okay afternoon read.

I loved this story. Riley was an amazing lead character, strong and occasionally abrasive with a hard outer shell that seemed to crack when Mike (The gorgeous hunk from her past) was around. The attraction between them was sizzling as the story moved along and you find yourself pulled into the tale as they become closer to each other. The writing is flawless and strong, the storyline well thought out and the ending brings you the sense of CLOSURE promised by the title!
In fact, my favorite part would have to be the fact that it seems to be a complete storyline. Getting the CLOSURE feeling that comes with this book is rare in short stories but she managed to do it perfectly.

I gave CLOSURE 4 out of 5 blue monarchs!! The story moved along wonderfully, the characters were very relatable, the writing is amazing and the steamy parts were tastefully done while VERY satisfying.

I received a copy from the author for an honest review. WaAr.
Mature audience only.
Who says anyone is immune to never seeing their old high school crush that they felt had ruined their life years ago? Riley had changed her name and her looks only to be sitting across from her old crush, Mike, during an interview. But is this going to be the payback for how she feels he left her or is there something more awaiting them both? Nice short story.

The Review
Holy Smokes, This is a hot little read, I know it’s not paranormal but hell it was a pleasure to read, so that’s why I am putting it here, I really loved it, The author really wrote these characters from the heart, I could only imagine that she went through something similar, Well we have all got one, that long lost love or the love that wasn’t reciprocated, Male or female, we all suffered in school, this makes me happy that there is a way to get your revenge unwittingly to that one person who dissed you in front of everyone, but is it revenge? When you love that person, could you do it? Riley really wanted him to suffer but she just could not do it in the end, she has always loved Mike, ever since he aided her in school with her school work, but he dissed her in front of everyone in the lunch room, it broke her heart, coming face to face with him again, she feels a plan form, he wants her, so what is a girl to do? The characters were complex, Riley had redesigned her self after leaving school, she changed everything about herself, so much so that Mike did not realise that it was her when he met her for an interview, I loved the club and where it was situated, very clandestine, Recommended to all my friends 5/5

I don't read a lot of eroticas just because I haveso many other books on my list to read, but I have been helping Kim Carmichael promote her book Closure for a few months now. I have been doing this without having read it because I know she is a great author. As soon as I had a good day to start reading Closure, I did and I literally did not stop reading it until I was finished with it. Closure is a story about a girl who is given a chance to tie up some loose ends from high school as well as teach someone a lesson.

Riley had been a Goth girl before it was cool to be one. She hid herself behind her white make up and wild hair, though she really wasn't hiding anything. This was her true self, but people didn't dress like that back them. She was unique and Mike fell in love with that about her. Her tutored her, fell in love, and asked her out. She of course said yes, but when the date came around, he never showed up. The next day at school, he unwillingly humiliated her which caused her to completely disappear. This had such a drastic impact on her that after graduation, she completely changed her appearance and her name.

Many years have gone by and they have been thrust together by pure chance, only Mike doesn't know that Riley is his lost high school love. Riley of course knows exactly who he is. She uses this to her advantage to completely torture him while finally getting what she always wanted in high school. This is the point that I will not share any more of the story. One reason is because I cannot do it justice in my summary. Another reason is because my blog is family friendly and the content of this story is definitely adult. If you enjoy adult stories, this one is a very quick read and definitely worth it!

This is the second book that I have read by Kim Carmichael and I have enjoyed both books immensely! Closure is a journey of two people that have an immediate connection when they initially meet for an interview. The catch is that they knew each other in high school, but only one of them remembers! It’s an entertaining read as the characters learn more about each other, but are they able to forgive and find closure.....

Riley is a reporter for a small magazine company and steps in for her unavailable boss for an interview with Mike Taylor, who happens to be the person who broke her heart in the final few weeks of high school. When she moved on and went to college, she left her old life behind, changed her appearance and her name. After all the years apart, Mike still has an effect on her and her traitorous body knows it.

Riley is a bit of a cheeky character as she kind of messes with Mike because he doesn't connect Riley with the girl from high school. It was amusing to see her toy with Mike and make him step out of his comfort zone. He still has a lot of the same traits because he likes to be in control, follow the rules and he doesn't like surprises. Riley takes charge a few times and he finds it very hawt!

Closure is a pretty fast paced read and I was able to read it in one afternoon. It alternates between POV's, so we get to see the affect Riley has on Mike as he tries to understand why he is so attracted to her. The sexual scenes are really good (even the phone sex.....) but I thought the book was more about their growing connection not the sex, but the sex did help! Fans of contemporary romances would enjoy this book!!

Closure by Kim Carmichael
18+ adult book with sexual content
This is the first book that I have read by this author. I highly enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced read. The story flowed and the chemistry of the characters were good. The intimate scenes were very steamy. This is one story that I can see happening in today's society. Riley is a character that you just feel for and love because she faced most issues we face. Love the story. I'm impressed by this author that is for sure. I read this in one afternoon since couldn't put it down.

The story is about Margaret who after a bad experience her senior year changed her identity. She went from gothic chick to chic. She became Riley. When she was Margaret she was bullied and teased for being weird and and outsider. Now as she is Riley, she is on the in club in a new town and everything. Riley is a writer who is going to set in for her boss regarding an interview and is surprised to find out it is her crush in high school. She has grown since she was Margaret. She is independent, confident, and has her own style. During the meeting with Mike, he can't keep his mind off her and the connection her feels for her. He is the one that stood her up when she was Margaret. Can they both overcome the past to begin a future? I give this book 5 stars. Can't wait to read more from this author!

This book is 18 and up due to adult content.

To put it simply I was frickin’ blown away by this book. I am now beginning to realize that I was completely wrong about the romance genre of books. If you stray away from the harlequin, bodice ripping type books you can really find great, romantic stories. I really like stories that have, well, stories. A plot. Not sappy, not sad, but books that make you glad you read it. Closure was that type of book.

Closure is hot, sexy, romantic and playful. This book speaks to my inner sarcastic self. Riley (aka Margaret) echoes my sentiments of high school. I was never quite popular, never quite a nerd, never quite a jock and never quite a burnout. I was all of the above. I hid behind black leather jackets, colored hair and makeup. Not quite to the extreme that Riley did, but similar. Imagine if ”the one that got away” just showed up right in front of you? Some one who crushed you in an attempted to look cool. Would you be brave enough to face it or run and hide? Riley does a little of both when she unexpectedly meets her old high school crush and tutor Mike for a work dinner one night. Mike has no idea who she is, that she has completely re-made herself since he last saw her. Riley has a chance at closure, will it be satisfying Or will she be hurt all over again?

Again, fantastic book. I loved the characters, the sweet but saucy banter between them and the ending was phenomenal.

5+ stars Way to go to Ms. Carmichael

Now I will start off by saying I was given this book in return for an honest review.

How to start this....WOW.

This book is amazing. It makes you think about life for real. Anyone you left behind, anyone you have unfinished business with romantically.

Riley gets her second chance to finally end things in her mind, body and soul about how she feels for Mike Taylor, a guy who hurt her so bad in high school it left deep scars.

But when she finally gets that chance, she can't go through with it. Too much has happened in the meantime, and after finally being back with him it overwhelmed her. Her need for closure was too much.

But believe me, by the end of the book I was crying at how amazingly things went. Who would have ever guessed that you could have a second chance at something so.....Well read the book and find out.

The writing is amazing, I never wavered one bit in my reading and was able to follow along so well...well..that is when my body was not tingling with the way certain situations were described. Damn, is the only way to put it.

I definitely wished there would be more. I wanted it to never end. Maybe in the future there will be more to this luscious tale but who knows, I will just have to wait and see. Until then, I look forward to anything Kim Carmichael puts her writing to as it will no doubt be just as delicious.

“Closure” by Kim Carmichael is a highly sexed and in parts explicit novel about the strong erotic connection between Riley and Mike, two people who meet on business in LA. Riley used to be Margaret and recognises her partner from the past but he does not seem to remember her. Their flirtation and verbal foreplay soon turn in to a power game between the two, but both of their game plans are in danger to come off the rails because of the strength of their mutual attraction.
The writing is very competent – apart from some minor editing oversights -, the story flows smoothly and steadily. I personally prefer erotica to be less explicit but it seemed necessary to illustrate the playing out of their battle for control.
The strongest point of this novel is the chemistry between the lovers which is brilliantly portrayed and the hint at a mystery behind their connection adds to the overall suspense of the story. I was as impatient to find out whether there was more to the needed “Closure” than an emotional unfinished business and was a little disappointed that there was no further dimension to the story, but realised that this comes with the territory of the genre. In this tale of passion there is nothing to distract us from the all-consuming relationship between Riley and Mike and the author succeeds to draw us in to the mystery and tension between her two characters.

The cover to Kim Carmichael's Closure gives you a pretty good idea just about how hot this book is going to be, but it's really just a tease. I spent over ninety percent of my reading time sweating. Yea, it's definitely safe to say this book will "exercise" your mind (wink wink).

Closure is more than just hot, steamy, amazing sex that blows your mind. No, ironically there's only one actual full blown sex scene. But really, there's more than just that. There's actually a story here. A love story that dates back to high school for the two main characters, except one of them doesn't know it.

I have to say, it's been a REALLY long time since I've read an erotic story that actually had substance. Closure didn't just satisfy, it impressed and went far beyond expectations. I've never felt so connected to the characters, shared so intensely in their thoughts and feelings. Oh, I've definitely felt a connection with characters before, but this was something palpable; something that danced on my taste buds before slithering down my throat and tangling its slimy fingers around my heart. Yea, I'm definitely reading this one again.

Sweet and sexy, naughty with a thick slathering of nice. Oh, so very nice! Closure will keep you entertained for hours, and give you a few thoughts to take to your someone special. Don't miss out on this awesome read!

Do you ever think about your first love in High School?
Margaret/Riley Williams has never forgotten hers.
Mike Taylor, the boy that broke her heart. Broken so badly she changed her identity completely.
She never thought the successful businessman he became would be the one she would be interviewing any minute now.
Would he recognise her?
How would she feel when she saw him again?
This chance meeting after all those years would finally be a chance to lay old ghosts to rest.
WOW!! I loved this story. The idea of meeting your first love after many years apart is a question I often ask myself.
This story immediately draws you in with characters written well enough for you to feel at home with them and want to know what happens when they meet. The interaction between the two characters is very passionate but also very witty. Brilliant!
This is a fast paced erotic story with moments that will leave you holding your breath as you read them.
I was disappointed to get to the end of this book as quickly as I did, not because I found it lacking in any way but because I really wanted to know what happened next.
Please, Please, Please can I have the next part?
If you’re looking for a quick read with romance and a touch of erotica this is perfect.

An Ambrosia Arts Review of “Closure” written by Kim Carmichael
I recently read the short story “Closure” written by Kim Carmichael. Unsure of what to expect, I dived in head first and found myself treading some boiling waters. The characters are well fleshed out and the storyline is something that just about everyone can relate to…that one person you missed your chance with back in high school. Life goes on and people change. Or do they? You’ll find yourself asking this very same question throughout the entirety of the plot. I found the struggle for power delightfully tormenting and many times I found myself unable to decide just who I wanted to have the upper hand in the situation. The sexual tension is palpable. The scenes left me wanting more, both disappointed and excited that what I expected wasn’t necessarily what I was given. It was a refreshing telling of wanting what you can’t have and not exactly getting what you want but wanting exactly what you ended up with and how you got it. Lost love, lust and just enough control or loss of it makes this story a MUST read! No matter which side you ultimately choose, you are bound to be satisfied.

Closure, by Kim Carmichael, creates amazing characters, ones that made me fall in love with this story immediately. Riley, the main protagonist, is a confidant and successful woman, so very different from the unique and different teenager she once was. She's a woman who reinvented herself after being scorned by the man she loved. She is a character who is easy to like and follow.

Meet Mike Taylor, a successful businessman who's in town for business. He finds himself attracted to Riley, both to her beauty and strength. His character really helps the romance sizzle and come alive.

There are so many wonderful secrets to be revealed between both Riley and Mike.

This is a story almost everyone can relate to: that one person you missed your chance with in High School. Closure was filled with drama and hot steamy romance. The heat leapt off the page. The story's flow was great, and the character development was fascinating to follow. A highly recommended sexy, erotic read from Bex 'n' Books.

There's always things about high school that stick with you forever, and Kim Carmichael hits this on the head with "Closure". She takes that feeling, both physical and emotional, and makes it so realistic as to what the fantasy might be if the "what could have been" of the past becomes the "this is really happening" of the present. I was drawn in from the start of this story, I felt everything that Riley felt, and when it came down to the "nitty gritty" Kim Carmichael didn't disappoint. She fulfilled every fantasy that we've all had about "that one boy" from school by writing this one book. She brought everything to you, handed it to you on a silver platter, and made sure that dessert was calorie free with this beautifully written fantasy that truly satisfies your thoughts of that "what if". I can't wait to read anything else that Kim Carmichael writes, she truly delivered, and I would recommend this to anyone and everyone 18+ that is willing to live through Riley this amazing fantasy.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Kim Carmichael's Closure is a well written story of love and closure.

Riley is a confident and successfull woman, now. She was a unique and different teenager. Having re-invented herself after being scorned by the man she was in love with in high school. Then called to a meeting for the publisher she works for, in walks in none other than the man who scorned her back then.

Mike Taylor is a successful businessman, in town on business. He finds himself attracted to not only Riley's beauty but her strength. There is something about her that leaves him at a loss of the control he so highly maintains in his life.

There are secrets to be revealed and steamy scenes that are well written. Can Riley finally find closure after all these years or will the secrets she holds so close to her heart be the end of any chance at it?

The plot flows well and the sex scenes are well written with well developed characters you will love.
I highly reccomend this book to anyone looking for a great read. 18+

I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
In this story we meet Riley, a journalist who assignment is to interview Mike. Except Riley never thought this would be the Mike from her past, that broke her heart. What makes it more interesting is that Mike doesn't really recognize her since she isn't who she was in high school, with her new looks and name. Of course when they meet the connection is still there between them. As you read the story your it progresses with each telling there thoughts of the other. Figuring out the truth of the past and their feelings of now and then to get the closure they need to more forward.
I gave this book five stars because it was a super sexy read and erotic. Also a very nice surprise for some reason I didn't expect it this good. I'm saying I didn't think it was going to be good because I did think it would be. The thing I the author just past my expectations on how she told the story with how she described everything in the story that tied everything, into making a good read that I loved.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Wow this story gets you thinking! With just enough romance and drama the Author weaves a story of two lost loves reunited in the most unusual way. But only one knows who the other is, and creates a contrived quick romance where the other will pay for what was supposed to happen all those years ago. But what she never imagined was that the strong attraction felt during those High School years would rekindle so quickly to consume them in a fire of want and need. The cat and mouse game they play where each is playing off the other, gives the story a spicy side that ends in two very heated scenes where the game goes out of control and neither leaves completely satisfied. It isn't until the very end when all is lost that a never read note could change both their lives forever. A must read for anyone who has someone they always wondered about and thought they needed Closure with. I definitely enjoyed this story and hope to see more of these characters in the future.

It's Like She KNOWS Me! Gah! This is my first reading of anything from Kim Carmichael... and, God willing, it will NOT the be last. WOW. You know, everyone has that ONE person from their past that changed them or made them wish that things had gone down a different way. This completely stirred up some thoughts and emotions I had long buried and forgotten, but not at all in a bad way. In an effort NOT to spoil, I will simply say that I think every woman wants to be brave enough to be Riley and get her Michael. I'm one of those "What If" people that contemplate every angle before I do something.. and truly do not think I could do what she did! This was a quick read, amazing characters that I fell in love with immediately, and writing so real about a subject so many of us have in our lives. Did I mention that this was Oh So Steamy!?! YUM! I'm still wanting some damned coconut cake and a dusty desk or office chair (NOT in that order!) in my near future. 5 stars. Loved everything about it and am begging for more. AMAZING! Thanks for that, Kim! You rock! XO

A thrilling tale of heartache and love.

Margaret Collins has been marked by Mike Taylor in a way that only the one person you truly love can do to you.

After having her heart broken by him, she decides to leave their town and reinvent herself into someone who hasn't had their heart broken. Everything changes from her looks to her job, and where she lives.

For her first assignment Riley Williams (Margaret) must interview the man who broke her heart all those years ago. All the different emotions that she felt then and is feeling now boil up and leave her with two questions.

Should she get revenge on him?

Or should she let the past stay in the past and live with the man who she's deeply in love with?

Can Riley forgive Mike and just look forward the what the future can hold? Or will she let her past continue to haunt her and keep her from being truly happy?

Kim Carmichael does a great job at showing the emotions that Riley goes through when she meets Mike again. The characters are fully developed and it keeps the reader wanting to read what is going to happen next.

Closure is definitely a good read. I was asked for an honest review and here it is.

When I read the synopsis, it caught my attention. But it didn't give the book justice. Closure is about second chances, history repeating itself, finding love and sexual innuendos around every corner but not in that order :)

Riley is our main gal in this book. She's gone through life reinventing herself and is all fine and dandy until one assignment named Michael Taylor shows up.

Follow Riley and Michael as they discover one another and uncover a past Riley has never had closure for. You'll find the answers for the questions that pop up in your head like " what happened to Riley to be the way she is towards Michael" or " Does he even remember her?"

I honestly could not put this book down and I actually shed a few tears at the end. It was a great ending I will have to say. You'll just have to read it to find out!

Closure

There's always the one…

Your first love is always hard to forget, but when it never really got started there are so many what if’s. After being left heart broken by Mike, Margaret left her hometown and re-invented herself as Riley. Seventeen years later he walks back into her life, but this time Riley has the upper hand as he doesn’t recognise her.

An erotic love story, this book had me gripped from the first chapter. There are parts of this story we can all relate to, and can feel for Riley on so many levels. Well written, the book flows nicely. I loved the part where Riley works Mike up then just leaves him, okay she had a good reason to but it was funny to read. Happy ending happens as expected, but the journey is well worth reading and will get your pulse racing.

Most importantly – Will I read this book again, happily! And will I read other books written by this author, most definitely!

4 1/2 stars....
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
We've all got that one person from childhood or our teenage years. That "what if" person. This book explores that idea....what if you came across that person years later? What would you do?
I loved this short story. I empathized with Riley as Margaret. True, I wasn't the wanna-be Goth, but I was the painfully shy geek who preferred to have her nose in a book than to sit around gossiping about fashion and boys. But now Riley has her life together when she finds herself interviewing that person, her "what if" person.
I enjoyed how the author switched back and forth from Riley's point of view and memories to Mike's point of view and memories. Without that, it would have been so easy to demonize poor Mike.
The sexual chemistry and scenes between Riley and Margaret were hot. I finished this book in one sitting, and really enjoyed it!

Riley is a reporter sent at the last minute to interview a up and coming entrepreneur. She doesn't notice the name at first, when she does it's a slap in the face. The boy that ruined her teen aged life is about to walk into her life again. Mike doesn't recognize Riley and she has changed her name since he knew her. He is instantly attracted to her and ask her on a date. She goes along with it, reluctantly, just to see what happens and messes with his head a bit as well. Still feeling insecure, angry and very confused, Riley agrees to another date. Does she like him for real or does she just want a taste of revenge? Will he eventually recognize her and how will he react if he does? Can Riley let go of the past and follow her heart or is she too angry to get past it? Want the answers, read the book. It's a short, easy read and is definitely worth the time.

I don't tend to read a lot of erotic romance because sometimes that there just isn't enough story to go with the sex. This is not the case with Closure! It was hot, hot, HOT, but it has a fantastic story to go with it! I loved Riley, loved that she wasn't perfect, even when she tried to be. I loved that she was a real person with a past full of angst just like a lot of us have had. There is always that guy that we were head over heels for, and it was totally unrequited. The second chance in Closure, became just that, a second chance instead of the closure she thought she wanted. That's a fantastic fantasy and made for a fun read. Mike, too, although a bit heavy-handed for my personal taste, was perfect for the story. Written any other way other than he was would have made for a less impactful story. Loved it!

I am not big on erotic reads, however, I am becoming a big fan of Kim's. Closure was intense, spicy and captivating all rolled into AWESOMESAUCE!!
The only complaint I had was that it wasn't long enough, I wanted more. I would have loved for the book to be a little more in depth, however, it was still an amazing read.

"Riley" has ran into her crush from High School, only he doesnt recognize the new her. Now is her chance to bring closure to the past, only she's not sure if she can let go of the past or the man that has captivated her once again.

Mike is always been about business, never really having much of a social life. That's til he meets Riley. There something about her that makes him feel connected and he just can't figure out what it is, he just knows he wants what ever it may be.

Steamy yet Classy not trashy, December 2, 2012
By Lisa A. Markson

This review is from: Closure (Kindle Edition)
I received a copy of Closure by Kim Carmichael in exchange for a unbiased honest review. Definitely a book that you could not put down. The story was fast paced and rivoting. The characters were done in a 3 Dimensional aspect which gave them real life qualities. There is no lack of hot steamy adult reading in this book. But it was done classy not trashy. Can we go back and revisit someone from your past. Can it work? Do we get a automatic redo in life. I definitely want yo read more from this author in the future. She has a great sense of imagery that gives the reader a minds eye into Rileys life. Great job can't wait for more.

I think we all have a 'What if' person and this book took me back in time, remembering my person & thinking back to what made him my 'what if' instead of my person...

Ms Carmichael made the perfect combination of sexy, saucy, angsty and sweet. I just didn't want it to be over. I could have gone down memory lane for a whole lot longer :)

Riley & Mile were a perfect display at how men suck at communicating & how women hold grudges. Lol! But also about recreating yourself and being loved for you and not your appearance. This couples' soul recognized each other from earlier in their lives and it gave me chills. Truly beautiful.

Well done Ms Carmichael. I enjoyed every word on every page. Looking forward to checking out your other tales!
